There are parts of the filing that can still be confusing. especially when clicking on the forms button at the top right corner of the software during filing. After you click on forms to read through the tax forms, and when a user wants to go back, no button or tab takes the user to the place in the numbered steps where he was in the filing process. Instead, it takes the user to the middle of the process.

wouldn't let me e-file becuase of a mid year s Corp effective date. It keeps saying there is an error. There is not. If I would have known this I would have given myself enough time to mail in time. If my return is considered late I will be calling for a reimbursement.

Turbo Tax is very intuitive and easy to use. It walks you through everything. You just need to answer questions, fill in numbers, and you're done. It doesn't confuse you with Form numbers and industry lingo. It auto-populates all forms relative to your financial situation.

CPA put COGS in Office Supply expense, depreciated was off, and sold an asset by clearing the loan and coding it to draw and not even dealing with the asset or depreciation! Turbo Tax support, Amber, spent 3 hours on the phone with me and got everything right. We paid thousands to a CPA that left a mess and Turbo Tax fixed everything for much less. We are extremely happy with Turbo Tax and highly recommend it.

Turbotax does not handle more complex situations very well. It cost a sizeable penalty because an NOL statement was not included in a state tax return and the NOL carryforward was denied. That is just one example. There have been others. Also, the "continue" buttons when ordering state tax software products on a laptop is below the fold and has NO way to scroll down to access it. The right hand bar to move the page up and down is MISSING! I actually had to save the tax return and email it to another computer where the screen was larger. Problematic and buggy.

Depreciation Method - it will be helpful if 1 question could be added during the Asset/Depreciation screen, "which depreciation method to use". Most of the accountants use S/L method (at lease my accountants in the past) for small items. Without this "Option", one will need to go to the asset worksheet to select it manually.

Was very disappointed with the product this year. There were bugs -- stuck fields, bad prompts, etc. Not enough step-by-step and too much reliance on you editing forms yourself. On top of that they never mentioned that a couple of the state returns they wouldn't e-file for me. At this point, what am I paying you for... ?

I have been using Turbo tax since it has been in existence. You have improved the programs since they first came out. Last year I had considerable trouble with the program. I called live support many times and usually I figured out my problem by myself.

I've been using TurboTax since 1989. This was a very disappointing experience. Federal tax and filing was fine. Thank you for that. Nebraska taxes went smoothly, but could not be filed online. Montana state taxes weren't even available. I had to do Montana manually, which took longer than everything else combined. I realize these are smaller states whan California, but this is pathetic. I guess it doesn't make sense for you to invest in a cash-cow brand. Well, I guess it's time for me to stop investing in you as well. Thank you for 35 years of wonderful service.

I had to take on the daunting task of doing our family partnership taxes for the first time in 20+ years. Prior to that we always used an accountant. However, since our preparer no longer served our area (?) and because our assets had simplified during the span of time I thought I could easily handle it. 100% certain I would have royally messed it up if not for this software and the previous tax return. What I really appreciated is that I could log on to the 'on-line' version to get real time help while completing the return on the program version. Mostly I received great assistance; once or twice it was clear the person on the other side of the chat stopped reading my question mid-way or just didn't know the answer. However, that was the exception and easily remedied by doing it again and getting a different person. One issue was the interface to Audit Defense. Try as I might over a span of a few weeks, it glitched towards the end of the request. Luckily, I Googled it and purchased it directly from them. All the same, I'm glad Turbo Tax mentioned it or I would never have known it existed!
