I purchased the software and installed it on my pc, worked on tax return, then save it. Before I want to submit the e-file, I simply could not start the software. When I click the shortcut, It said "we need to check update..." then nothing happened. What a heck! I have to use AI to work on troubleshooting.

The program is old, not online, and clunky. As a QuickBooks Online user, Intuit tries mightily to force me to use their new "Assisted" version for 4 times the price. I have been doing this without assistance for 10 years and don't need the assistance. They have been avoiding updating this program. Intuit needs to offer a non-assisted version of the online system.

TurboTax Business? I need a program for TRUSTS. This program does more than Trusts and appears to be intermixing the programs. I know for a trust, we do not file a tax return for the state, but your program indicates that we should, but you did not have a program for Texas filing, very confusing. Also, I could not keep a person from receiving a K-1 if I loaded a distribution of funds to them. So, did not indicate the distribution of funds. So return is not 100% accurate do to that.

Software workflow is relatively thorough but clumsy and repeats certain prompts (like saving/print for records). In addition, some error checks require fixes and little info is provided on how to fix. Most importantly, we could not download/electronically file the California Fiduciary state file. Multiple calls for support on how to download the state file came up seriously empty.

Need to provide more information for those of us filing estate income taxes. Also, I would like to see more features that are specific to Federal employees that are retired. For example, TSP and OPM distributions and payments. The RMD questions don't really apply to TSP distributions. Why should i even have to state why the RMD was not taken if the retiree died before the end of the year? Also, since Turbotax knows what state I live in, it shouldn't even have the state income tax questions if my state doesn't have an income tax. It looks like AI could make the software a lot smarter and easier to use.

The only thing I would suggest is a tighter cross-over from federal to state tax numbers. I bought the Pa. state package and had to autofill my income into the state form. I recognize state and federal tax law differences can make this difficult so If autofill is impossible from federal then walk us through a PA exclusive interview. Don't let it to me to figure out. That's a little scary.

Form 1041 Trust does not generate a Schedule F or any Forms required for Schedule F in easy answer or the form drop down menu. Schedule F, Form 4562 Depreciation and Asset Entry are only available under View, Forms, Schedule F. Then corrections have to be made from the previous year form.

I had to ammend a return I prepared with this product. It doesn't seem to know what to do once I complete the changes and isn't helpful in working through the ammended return filing process since it won't let me efile but won't let me print a copy to send to the state since state requires efiling. Also I had to move the product to a different computer and it took me over 1`0 minutes to get throught the CAPTCHA process only to tell me it expired when I stepped away from the computer for a few minutes and I had to restart the gods damned proccess. Last year using turbotax for business and personal returns!

You have made the forms too complicated. If I make a change on one data input, it does not carry over to other fields where that data is required. Instead of making computations, you show a long list of items required and often tell the taxpayer to fill out the form and make the computations. Instead of giving directions or filling in data, you includes screens that tell the Taxpayer to pay extra for advice.

I use this every year and I don't know why. The price keeps going up and the features do not improve. The help feature does not answer the questions. The forms do not offer instructions in lay terms. Compared to the personal use products this fails. However, it does get the job done with a lot of time spent searching for answers outside of the application. The calculations are accurate. I wish they would make the interface more like the Premier version.
