I have used turbotax business for years for my trust tax return. I reside in California and have been happy with the product. In 2025 we exchanged (1031) into some income producing properties in North Carolina and South Carolina. I figured taxes would be straightforward since turbotax supports state filings as well. So I was very surprised to find that TurboTax Business does not support preparing or filing state returns for North Carolina or South Carolina. I was shocked. I had to prepare those returns by hand and mail them. As you can guess I was extremely frustrated. Please get support for NC and SC for 2026. I use TurboTax Business for this trust and TurboTax Premier for three other returns and will be forced to look for a new tax software if I have to continue to file state returns manually due to lack of support from Intuit TurboTax.

The step by step guide is useful for creating first draft returns, but it is unnecessarily cumbersome to require revisiting each question with every instance of preparing the return. Most of answers should carry from prior year or at a minimum prompt what the response was for the prior year.

there were several errors that updates had to take care of - errors should be out of the software before it is released. There were also several sections that did not have explanations and I had resort to getting Chatgpt to help me. For the price I expect better.

For 2024 taxes, TurboTax allowed me to create my W-2 and 1099-NEC documents online using Quick Employer Forms and would file them when I was done. Now, it says I don't have a valid account to do this and wants to sell me Quick Employer Forms separately when I have already paid for the software.

An efile was filed, and it was rejected because form 2553 was not file on time, now, turbotax business does not allow to file another return, if I try to file another return, it says that I cannot file no more than 5 returns electronically, eventhough only 4 returns have been efiled electronically.

Many questions were vague and not clear, some were poorly written with no guidance. TurboTax did not fully complete the California 541 schedule, making it difficult to fill in the missing information on the actual form with no guidance. I resorted to using Chat GPT to help answer the TurboTax questions. I can't believe I paid $200 for the software. Unbelievable experience.

EVERY ONE of my 3 returns (2 LLC and 1 personal) encountered bugs with the online version. Even with the expert help, I could not get around the bugs. One expert advised me to be the desktop version instead. Even the Business version could not read in a *.tax2025 file that it saved!!!! Unbelievable!!!!

The TurboTax interface was as good as it ever was, however the UPDATE features were incredibly slow and clunky. I had to try 5 times to get through the "update" so I could continue my return. IT took over 1.5 hour to FINALLY get through them. Apparently their servers were overloaded, or there was a "bug" in the update feature. This has undermined my confidence in TurboTax Business. Next year I may look elsewhere.

Form 1041 Trust does not generate a Schedule F or any Forms required for Schedule F in easy answer or the form drop down menu. Schedule F, Form 4562 Depreciation and Asset Entry are only available under View, Forms, Schedule F. Then corrections have to be made from the previous year form.
