TurboTax gets more confusing every year. It never uses the same depreciation schedule as QuickBooks and makes it increasingly difficult to override the Turbo Tax calculations. The documentation and help features are worse every year as well. insult to injury, it forces me to log into Intuit to use a product I have downloaded from Intuit.

I need to use TurboTax Business (in ADDITION to Deluxe) in order to file a Complex Trust. This year I had around 130 separate 1099-B Long Term gains/losses which include date acquired, date sold, cost basis, and proceeds from sales. TurboTax Business does not support IMPORT of these numbers, despite years of customer requests to provide this. After multiple hours I typed everything in, but the rounding error on that many smaller (monthly) municipal bond fund reinvestments resulted in a number that was tens of dollars different from my 1099-B Part II figure reported to the IRS. A successful IMPORT could take the actual value and ROUND it ONCE, avoiding this error in what I e-Filed.

It gets the job done, but TurboTax Business 2024 seems like it hasn't really been "gone through" to update it to current tax forms. For example, it references "1065, Line 22" on the K-1 Statement A QBI forms, but that's in old forms. Current form reference should be "Line 23". Also had trouble dealing with ownership percentages before and after a partnership change. Forms kept deleting the percentages and causing "we found 17 errors" to pop up. Just seems like the product is the exact same as it was in 2020 (my last purchase) and un-cared-for.

I was surprised and frustrated that I "started" my taxes on the WRONG TurboTax product. Evidently I completed my taxes on the ONLINE LIVE product, and went to file, only to be shown the price of $489. NOT even a little bit happy about that shocker. I eventually spoke with Anthony in Kissimmee, FL, and he got me on the right track.

After 5 years, still cannot enter a 1099-oid into turbotax business. Still cannot import 1099's etc from brokerages. Now you broke the import last years data. It imported 75 1099's, and then created 150 more blank entries for state XX each that have to be manually deleted. Faster to JUST START OVER. Next year, I will start over again. WITH A DIFFERENT PRODUCT! Shame I cannot give this a negative 5 stars.

Have been using Turbo TAX since first came out (a long time ago) and I will never use anything else. As the tax law continues to become more complex, I relay on Intuit to get it right! It would be impossible to do it myself. (PS: I have an accounting degree from years ago)

1) Farming farming farming. We don't farm. Could not figure out how to remove. 2) Why am I not prompted to enter distributions on k1s? I already enter distributions but it does not populate on line 19. 3. Login for support, that delay upset me, verification of user and so forth just to answer questions. 4. Spent 2 hours + figuring out why I couldn't balance. Software froze and mis-calculated or do not carry figures at all.

It's great. Till it's not. Using Business Desk Top Version. When you are reviewing and come across a problem on a page, there's not much help from TurboTax to figure out exactly what line and what the problem actually is. Plus, you get all done and then realize you can't file electroncally because of form 6765. SO UNBELIEVABLY ANNOYING. FOR GOODNESS SAKE ADD FORM 6765.

Some steps are confusing and require more explanation. For example, there needs to be clearer information on whether rentals are qualified business income or if the pros and cons and qualifications of opting-in/opting-out of centralized audit regime.

Turbotax business desktop is a great tool that provides the needed structure to file my business taxes every year. Overall, they have done a pretty good job at explaining things and making it easy. However, they have gotten lazy in some areas and just show a form with no explanation on what is required in an area, requiring a Google search as well as a ChatGPT conversation to complete.
