Having to buy TurboTax Business is overkill for those who only need to file a 1041 because an elderly family member put their assets into an irrevocable trust. This version of TurboTax also does not have the option to download 1099 information, it must be manually entered.

California State Corporate forms update for TY-2024 still not available with little more than one month prior to filing deadline on April 15th, 2025. After the Federal 1120 return was finished + e-Filed in early February I proceeded on to prepare the California 100 return, finding many inexplicable errors in the diagnostics which could not be resolved, as so I was resigned to filing a printed hard copy via mail. But there is still gibberish on the main schedule Form 100 including the page requiring signature + date by our Company's president. Other subsidiary schedules + forms such as 3885 Depreciation and 3805Q NOL carryover are OK, but not the main 100. Calling to inquire about when a complete final update for California would be available your support said that February 27 would be the availability date, and then it slid to March 6th, but still on today, March 10th, the gibberish is still showing up on Form 100. So my $50 has been wasted and our Company would have already had a finished state return if they had gone to the extra expense of hiring a local CPA firm in the SF Bay Area with software superior to TT. I had a similar problem with our family farm LLC in Illinois with TT derelict about releasing its state product there, and ended up having both the federal + state returns prepared by a CPA firm in the Chicago area. Do you also want to lose our business for California ???

I don't understand why the Trust Form 1042 software is sold with the Business software. I have 2 estate trusts and zero businesses. I don't need the Business software. You should sell the Trust software as a standalone product. This is what Taxact does.

Love the product. I use the business version for 3 corporations and one LLC I own, and it lets me define and know everything. IT also lets me start working on the taxes before year's end to know what adjustments I need to make in the expense side of things as a tax strategy to close the year. It is made more complex by having more than 11 bank accounts.

I found the information about QBI to be lacking. The form for the 199 provides places to make adjustments, but there is no real help describing what kind of adjustments would be appropriate. Every year, I also have difficulty navigating the K1 worksheet. One partner comes up, but when I want to see the second partner I can't easily access it. I can access the individual K1's but not the K1 worksheet. Making changes to the captial accounts is also difficult.

Works pretty well although this time I had a little problem when filling returns. I had to go back and adjust and/or fill some things that were missed - most likely my mistake. Anyway, all appears well and for the most I'm happy using TurboTax Business (although I wish they would make a Mac version).

Have been using Turbo TAX since first came out (a long time ago) and I will never use anything else. As the tax law continues to become more complex, I relay on Intuit to get it right! It would be impossible to do it myself. (PS: I have an accounting degree from years ago)

I use TurboTax Business as a trustee for a trust for an elderly relative (obviously on a PC). I use TurboTax Premier for my personal taxes on a Mac. Comparing the two is like night and day. At a minimum I'd like to see the trust portion of the business application available for Mac so I don't have to switch computers. I don't really think a trust of this kind needs the full business version. So you could just include trusts as either part of a more advanced personal version or something stand alone (on the Mac). It would also help to have more help and explanations similar to what is offered on the personal versions. Since this is not really a business per se, I only become involved with it at tax time.

First, it took a while on your website for figure out which product I needed to purchase to prepare a F1041. I've purchased the same product for the last five years. Why not just let me click on my account and purchase the current year with one button? Second, extremely frustrated that I couldn't import income data on the trust return the same as on my 1040. It would have saved me hours!

I do not like the new purchase options. Being able to go to a local office supply and purchasing the cd to download was os much easier than the download only option this year. I had to call support to find out where to purchase the key to open the download. The Intuit/Turbo Tax site is not user friendly, even finding a good number to call support is almost impossible to find.
