I was seeking to amend a Federal 1041 that was accepted with the help of a specialist. However, it would not allow it. Secondly, I efiled my MI and although it says tax in the form tax amt is $407 it does not have instructions to pay and doesn't say it is due in the instructions

Does not even provide a place to enter 1099-R for 1041 trust form. USELESS for trusts. Has been a continuous problem since 2019, and has NEVER BEEN FIXED. Does not provider electronic import of 1099B, DIV or INT information like regular Turbotax does. Turbotax Business is clearly NOT designed for trusts and is a useless ripoff for this purpose.

This was my first time doing an estate tax return (my parents very small estate). It was not difficult and what I did not understand , it was fairly easy to find the right answer. My biggest complaint is the cost. This is a very expensive program. It was $171 for Fed and $55 for the state. The personal versions of Turbo tax are a much better deal and they are on "sale" sort of at the beginning of tax season. I wish they had a smaller version for less cost.

Turbo Tax always seems to have yearly annoying bugs that Turbo Tax does not openly admit to. It use to be Tax Film Credit in GA, which caused errors and not allow you to E-File. In 2024 tax year the soft ware drops what ever corporation it wants to, leaving for a process of re-installing it. Thats why the 4 star

For the life of me I cannot understand why the more expensive business version of TurboTax cannot import tax information from financial institutions. This is something that the far less expensive personal version of TurboTax has been able to do for years.

Better than filling out forms by hand, but not nearly as good as it should be for over $100. The TurboTax Business software is extremely buggy and sends preparers down unnecessary rabbit holes that the program has the data to avoid. For example, the program told me I needed to fill out Schedule J because of a large distribution, but when I read through the IRS instructions that form was only applicable if the trust was formed before 1984. TurboTax has the data in the information section to avoid this. Also, the accounting elections menu buries some of the most common elections when trusts or estates have operating losses. I missed out on a loss carryforward election because the form isn't available in the forms menu and is buried 4 menus deep in the step-by-step menu. I literally couldn't find it even though the program told me the name of the form to fill out.

Data transfer from 2023 to 2024 is good except for business start date not included. After turbotax software update, my balance sheet numbers got screwed up. Working with an agent after multiples tries, we were able to solve it by deleting a line entry, entering 0, then re-entering the right number. Obviously a software bug which is impossible to report to Intuit. 2nd tier support agent was good. Turbotax needs to be better handling things like hyphens in SSN when required or not. Turbotax doesn't have much intelligence resolving issues, particularly when they were the same in previous years.

I believe TurboTax Business is a good product. It is expensive but required to do a simple trust return. I have to purchase both Turbo Tax Home and Business and TurboTax Business to complete my taxes for the year. Seems like the trust returns should be in a separate much cheaper product than TurboTax Business. I really like the feature that TurboTax Business imports the information from prior year return. That speeds the process greatly and significantly reduces errors. But it would be nice if it also imported Brokerage data like TT Home and Business.

I was trying to use the business Turbotax for doing my mom's estate/trust income tax. the software was missing many key estate related questions/inputs as well as it did not provide proper uploading and finalizing for the tax return (the error messages referenced wrong problems and were inconsistent). It is nowhere near as helpful/user friendly as the regular personal turboTax software.

I'd give it a better review but they don't ask some basic questions for some tax credits and it makes you have to drop to forms. However, the biggest complaint is they make you pay for your state but then for Iowa when you get to the end they say they can't file electronic and you have to do a bunch of work to get a refund. It should be automatic or not have you pay until they know if they can or not.
