We didn't think we had to file Texas state taxes, but Turbo Tax said we did and charged us over $50 to add that on. Then, we answered a few questions and it said we didn't have to file and we could call the support line to get a refund. What a waste of our time on an already overpriced product. Do better, TurboTax!

My taxes are complex and I am not an accountant. That being said, the "expert advice" was pointless. It was way over their heads. The software is set up nicely to see Forms or do step by step. Other than the extra help I paid for being useless, it was a great product.

For years I've used Turbo Tax for our business and personal taxes. This year, trying to file our business taxes everything went as usual until I went to efile. I kept getting an error message saying they could not locate the file and to go back and attach it. Attach it to WHAT? It's was sitting on the desktop as always for all the previous years. I wasted over 8 hours trying to efile so now I have to mail it and incur an additional expense with not knowing that it was accepted as I do when I efile within 48 hours. VERY FRUSTRATING!

TurboTax gets more confusing every year. It never uses the same depreciation schedule as QuickBooks and makes it increasingly difficult to override the Turbo Tax calculations. The documentation and help features are worse every year as well. insult to injury, it forces me to log into Intuit to use a product I have downloaded from Intuit.

After 25 years of getting both my Business and personal taxes done through a professional CPA, I decided to give it a shot myself just for the heck of it and curiosity as many AI tools are available this year to help from co-pilot to Grok to gemini, etc. For a first timer, it took me about 3-4 hours and most of it were spent with Live tax advisors from Turbo tax who were easily reachable and 0 hold time. I definitely couldn't have done it without Turbo tax Live help which is an excellent offering and all the advisor's but 1 was deeply knowledgeable, courteous, had a lot of patience to answer questions and fix issues and made it a great experience. I realized atleast for now, AI can only get you so far but cannot replace humans with years of experience and tax knowledge. A lot of questions on the software are not a 1-1 match to the forms of previous tax returns if one is not used to tax and accounting terminology and that's where the live experts play a big role. As a software professional with a lot of focus on UX, I feel Turbo tax has a lot of opportunity to redesign the desktop software and make it more user friendly. The online version might be better which is more expensive and may have better features like the saying goes what you pay is what you get.

Turbo Tax Business made filing the Federal Return much easier. BUT, to not have my state, Kentucky available to use TT Business, is unacceptable. I will try and find another software that will offer Kentucky. I had to prepare Ky return by hand for the Estate and Trust.

After I submitted a question, they keep telling me to call them - even after I told them I don't talk on the phone because I don't hear well - so I do not communicate via phone - I use other methods like email or text, or whatever else - but they keep demanding I call them after I emailed a question about audit insurance that isn't showing in my account after purchasing it...

I do not like the new purchase options. Being able to go to a local office supply and purchasing the cd to download was os much easier than the download only option this year. I had to call support to find out where to purchase the key to open the download. The Intuit/Turbo Tax site is not user friendly, even finding a good number to call support is almost impossible to find.

I do appreciate the accurate arithmetic. I would appreciate better guidance. - a "what's this" (like in Amazon) to explain terminology in plain English - a <CTRL F> (like in Windows, or in Adobe pdf) to find text in forms and in guided mode - don't ask me to re-answer already answered questions, when I go back to correct a specific item - Don't say "now transmitting" and then ask me to correct an "error" caused by TurboTax - less advertising for products for sale - readable, searchable help (like Google)
