This was my first experience with Turbo Tax Buusiness. The instructions for entering tax data were clear. Federal tax prep and filing was smooth. I was, however VERY DISAPPOINTED that Turbo Tax Business did not include state filing for Ohio. I had to complete the state form by hand and mail by hand. I felt that I was "short changed" by Turbo Tax. Everyone must file both federal and state tax forms 1041 and IT1041 for my state. Turbo tax should include the state form Ohio IT1041 in the software package. Carl

Did my taxes, but I had some significant complaints. First, it won't e-file business tax extensions (and mailing them seems risky). Second, the question flow ignores some options that you are expected to just *know* will be issues (like whether a Member is an entity or whether the corporation is subject to PHC tax).

It's great, but I was unable to electronically file my Pennsylvania state portion electronically. Same last year. This needs fixed. Also, sometimes you want to circle back to an earlier section and rerun through the questions, which doesn't seem to be easy.

Used it for my 2024 1120-S filing. It's not compatible with online QuickBooks, really Intuit? I explicitly followed their instructions to download the QB desktop application (30-day trial) and the migration tool. After about an hour of working out the kinks, I was able to successfully import data from my online QB account. But in reviewing the file, the P&L and Balance Sheet were way off. Turns out they were missing many transactions and were wildly different from the Online version. I began to try to resolve the differences but quickly realized it was a futile exercise that would've taken me longer than manually entering everything in the program - so that's what I did.

It was extremely easy to use. The only difficulty I had was printing the form to sign and scan. The app would not let me save the form to print unless I added my name to the signature field using one of the sidebar controls. It was a bit frustrating, but I got through it. Otherwise, it was a breeze.

This is my 5th filing year for a Trust, and I've used TurboTax Business each time. Here are the three key reasons for my rating. 1) Does not import data from my financial institutions (like Personal does). 2) Does not help at all with my State filing for Utah. 3) Does not offer a Mac version of the Business software. I switched from a PC to a Mac a handful of months ago and was really disappointed to learn Intuit does not offer a version of TurboTax Business for the Mac. Luckily my PC is still functional, so I was able to file for 2024. But I'm now worried about next year.

I used TT Business to file a 1065 Partnership return. There were a lot of issues with properly addressing contributed properties that had been depreciating for some time and of course need to be accurately reflected that the partnership is continuing the depreciation and amortization of partners rather than starting in year one again. That was the first issue of many. There were several default assumptions that were bad and was never asked for or about. If this was a "new to filing taxes and bookkeeping" person... your small business owners, your single member S-Corporations just trying to avoid the insane filing fees charged from professionals, they would have a hard time and most likely not be able to finish. You need to be comfortable jumping around in the forms section directly and know where to go - or willing to learn! The import over into the State was also not great. There was pretty much no assistance in filling out the State return; it merely transferred numbers and information. The rest you have to figure out yourself. Thankfully, States typically have an instruction manual on their websites for download.

The return was rejected three times. Even after the error check came back with no known errors. But in fact there were some dates that were mis-aligned and should have been easily caught during the error check. It took more human review and cross-checking to find what ended up being two dates that needed to be redone.

I think that TurboTax is great, in general. However, you are just double dipping by making us buy both the Home & Business and the Business editions of TT. Why not combine the S-Corp/Business with the personal Home & Business? We need to do both anyways, and the S-Corp/Business edition ends up being a catalyst for a lot of the personal... especially if you are in a smaller Sole-Proprietorship one person S-Corp/LLC business. If you would just do this, then you'd easily get a 5* rating from me!!

The questions are out of order from the actual return forms causing confusion, and a massive amount of time organizing my data so everything got entered. I had to go back and forth from the forms to the step by step. Questions and explanations were lacking in information. I had to use ChatGPT to figure out which expenses to enter in the right fields. TurboTax alone would have caused me to enter expenses in the wrong fields if I did not do my own research. Crazy hard to get a good result out of this product.
