Turbo Tax is Great!

I had an issue transmitting the e-file that left me confused and unable to complete my tax returns for my S-corp business for 3 days because I was told the error would be fixed on Monday by previous Turbo Tax reps. I received help on the 4th day from a Turbo Tax Expert who went through my system, and we found an error in the size of my e-file form 8483-CORP. After correcting the document's size, I could transmit my e-file document.

TT Business Software

This was my first time using TT Business for my S-Corp. It was good and provided lots of help; however, there were some areas that didn't help with information. It was my first time for my business only as I've used Home and Business for the previous eight years and is much easier, especially with the step-by-step guidance. I would recommend TT try to improve the step-by-step process with more clarification and help with the Business software to guide the process. The 1120S form and its several worksheet forms is very complex especially for a first timer. Nevertheless, I made it work by using TT community for help as well as other websites for assistance.

Need Import for Brokerage Account Equity Trades

I like TurboTax for Business, but it is still missing critical functionality. TurboTax for individuals lets me import brokerage transactions (such as sales of stocks and mutual funds) directly into my Schedule D, but TurboTax for Business still does not support this functionality. It is still a serious annoyance to have to type in each stock and mutual sale by hand. Please add the brokerage import transactions feature that exists in TurboTax for individuals.

TT Bus. 2024 - 20 years of increasing frustration

As with so many previous versions of TT, the program wouldn't install on my PC (Win10, Cyberpower with all updates). There were no warnings, simply got to a point in my tax return to review something and the program crashed without warning. Again. And Again. Finally got it to install on a Win11 laptop, went into a user forum and found a notice about C++ redistributables (2022 version); installed those in the Win10 computer (it was actually a downgrade in the version) at which point it seemed to have worked. Filed electronically without problem. My main complaint about this program is that each and every previous version of TurboTax I've used has basic functionality; an upgraded version simply gives you more options and abilities. However, TT Business 2024 WILL NOT DO PERSONAL TAXES!! I needed the program to file for a simple living trust, then to do my own taxes; however, now I'll have to purchase another program to do my personal taxes. (File up to 5 returns! Free e-file! Free state! But no personal. . . !?@) I think this is something that should be clearly marked in the descriptions. My whole trust return I could have done with four easily-accessible IRS forms, and mailed it in. I thought there would be enough help in TurboTax Business to truly guide me through the process but still, when I accessed the help screens, I got an AI BOT that simply told me silly distractions that were completely unhelpful. I feel TT Home & Business ought to supply the ability to do trusts for families dealing with Estate and Trust issues after parents' deaths. I understand that TT Business is aimed at, well, Business--but to throw in the ability to do personal taxes as well would have been a very nice gesture for all my 20+ years of using TurboTax. The interview process has remained kludgy and most of what I do is only for the math and help in filling out forms. I think overall I'm being generous in giving this version only two stars--with the understanding that I didn't stretch its' capabilities because I didn't do a business return at all--but still feel I've paid way too much for a program that did so very little.

Ridiculous not to include NYC in NYS download

Turbo tax has always been a very good product, however it is ridiculous to pay for a NYC filing (4 forms which I found out I could easily downloaded from NYC tax site and hand filled) without even an ability to e-file in addition to paying for NYS filing. NYC is a part of NY State and should be included in NY State package. Please review and reply.

Business Turbo Tax

Would like to be able to download tax information. I had trouble finding out how to use "Self Pin" I was never asked to create one in program. But "Error Check" would not let me mail my MI-1041 without it. I finally found a code I had used in 2018. You need to explain in "Help" what it is for and how to create a code. When it comes up as an error the program should tell you how to correct the problem.

had some issues with special allocations

had some significant trouble getting the program to understand how i wanted partnership allocations of income to take place...there were operating losses and then a capital gain from the dissolution of the partnership via the sale of all assets...the program wanted to allocated the losses one way and the gain a different way...took two days going through each schedule before i finally figured out how to override.

Needs a lot of work

It is confusing in many ways while doing the taxes. It is incomprehensible that I can import from the Quickbooks desk version but not from the online version which is so widely used. This will probably be the last year I use Turbotax and QuickBooks if this does not change. It should be a seamless transition since it is the same company,

Two software errors found.

There were two errors in the software: Schedule G.Line 1 under "Other Information" for the question "Did the estate receive tax-exempt income" was answered Yes, with a contradictory amount of $ 0. There was no tax-exempt income recoreded. The Yes answer could not be manually changed to No. On the 1099-INT Worksheet, I would get an error message (when checking for errors during the final review) that said the Market Discount (Box 10) could not be zero or less than zero. My 1099-INT shows zero for any Market Discount. In order to be able to file electronically, I had to change this to $1.

TurboTax makes it easier, but have your data ready

We are a C-Corp, it was a challenge to export out of Quickbooks online and then download trial version of Quickbooks desktop to be able to import into Turbo Tax. Once the data was in TurboTax filing was a breeze but the above process needs to be improved. Other than that we successfully efiled using TurboTax.
