The software itself worked well once we were able to download the state form. Unfortunately, it took 5 support phone calls before we were able to successfully download the state forms. We had similar issues in 2024 also. Regardless of how well the software works, if we spend 10 hours on support calls each year trying to download/troubleshoot software, it's just not worth it. I'm an IT person and every support specialist seemed to have zero clue what the error messages in your software meant or root cause. Frankly, it's ridiculous! Also, on this review form... seriously, I have to spend my time trying to find a unique Nickname? Are you kidding me????

I got errors trying to install TurboTax on one PC, had to do my taxes on another PC where I couldn't import my Quickbooks data (QB has to be installed on the same PC). I had to manually enter everything. It would be nice if I could have used an accountant's copy of the QB file on any PC. Entering deductions wasn't very flexible, had to fit them into Turbotax's categories. Help files weren't very helpful, I spent quite a bit of time searching for answers online.

The only problem this year was a Georgia Film credit form that wouldn't go away and wouldn't let me e-file - so I finally pulled it up under forms and deleted the form and that seemed to work. Not sure why that form sticks in the process when it has no application to Sellcom.

I've been using the Business edition for a decade. Previously, this edition included phone support with tax experts for tax questions. However, it's no longer available for this edition. Trying self-help with TurboTax's online articles is difficult, because there isn't any advanced search and results can be filtered only by product line (Desktop or Online). So I get many irrelevant results from the Home & Business edition and from previous years (with a different navigation).

Positive side: eye friendly interface. Negative: you are not told you need both the Business software package And Home and Business software package in advance, felt like bait and switch after being told I only needed one or the other from live support (double cost). Had to speak to 4 "agents" for over 4 hours before that was identified. If you don't get both, turbotax will not allow your final documents from the business filing carry over to the personal filing or visa versa.

I've used Turbo tax for many years and like the program. I always find it confusing as you prepare to file the return with so many different windows for printing the return. When I am ready to file, I would like to come to one final window that allows me to print a complete filing copy (without instructions assuming I am filing by mail) and a file copy to be retained with filing instructions.

Clunky handling of our S-corp taxes; unable to handle owner distributions and balance sheets without editing forms manually. For an expensive, "user-friendly" program, this was unacceptable. Unable to e-file (Colorado) because TurboTax is apparently not an approved vendor. Wowza.

I initially filled out my taxes online but when I saw the ridiculously expensive cost to file as the only option was live agent assist (which i did not need), I switched to the Desktop version. I had no way to pull all the information I already entered online into the desktop application so I had to re-enter all of it, doubling the work. It makes no sense why the only web/browser options is the one with live agent assist. You should make the desktop version available on web too because the questions are the exact same, or allow it to import previous years data from online and vice versa, and sync information. Additionally I had multiple issues downloading the software because of issues on the website and I had to call in for tech support, which could have been avoided if the web option had the same price point and option without live agent.

Horrible product. Intuit/Turbotax couldn't care less about its customers. No help for "error 2", no way to directly import from QB Online, and no way to get help from someone who actually knows the product. This is absolutely the last year I will use their bad products

The Federal Return was not bad. Confusing but I got through it and everything was e-filed ok. The State Return was horrible. Took some information from the federal return but still a lot of confusing information I was left with. Also, the program couldn't efile the state return, even though my accountant could last year. I'm heading back to my accountant next year. It's worth $695 to have it done in 20 minutes.
