The estate function has no entry functions for 1099OID, & 1099R.The missing entry field complicates where to enter the income for 1099 OID and Cost Basis not reported on 1099R and the Federal and State withholding that need entered in different fields. These are available in the 1040 packages and would have save ime had they been in the business program for estate income tax to utilize.

For the amount of money we pay, you need a LOT more help info on how and where to find the various tax ID numbers needed. Also a MUCH more prominent method of getting the help you say we can access (if only we can find out how). I have used your product since your company began but next year I'm thinking of switching.

the state filing is getting worse and worse. i purchased only to be unable to file. Am stuck in a continuous loop of adding the state and downloading the state, then readding the state and downloading it again. i've installed removal tools supplied by turbo tax but run into the same issue. i've waited for forms to be completed by my state and still the same issue. please fix the states issue.

Executing TurboTax Business at the Federal Level is good.....but at the Illinois state level, the software is almost worthless. TurboTax for Illinois Estates and Trusts is Absolutely worthless. There is NO help, no way to deleted certain forms EXCEPT to delete and start over.... Worthless at best.

I prepared the final tax return for our Family Trust Form 1041. To electronically file, you have to attach Form 8453-FE. Preparing the return was straight forward, I have been using Turbo Tax for 20+ years. Finished up by scanning the needed form and attaching it to my return. I tried many, many times to transmit - over and over an error came up and told me there was an internet problem. On the second day, I decided to change my PDF default reader to Adobe (I have been using a different program for a year or two). Went through the finish up process again and it transferred just fine. I am sure specifying Adobe was the kicker. To bad I had to learn the hard way (hours wasted). Wish this was clearly stated in the documentation. All good now. Return has been transmitted successfully.

Every year, I think it is hard to locate the correct product to use. This year I completed every form and when I got to the Payment page, I realized I had been using a different product, and it was almost $600! I would hire a CPA for less than that. Also, it never seems to be able to find the previous year's return on my hard drive, so I have to manually enter everything from scratch. Your products work well, but the names are so similar and there are too many products.

We didn't think we had to file Texas state taxes, but Turbo Tax said we did and charged us over $50 to add that on. Then, we answered a few questions and it said we didn't have to file and we could call the support line to get a refund. What a waste of our time on an already overpriced product. Do better, TurboTax!

Need a better way to import assets instead of just one at a time. Bugs. M2 Distributions use last years values, not the newly imported data. Every year 1120 3-4 balance sheet is messed up in 10a and 10b when adding in section 179. Also intangible assets include in my liabilities. Line 13c.

Hardest part is navigating the Website to buy TT Business! My Trust is a very simple one, and the TT Business software kept it simple. A couple of terms might have had a pop-up definition, e.g., a trust's distributable "income" which appears to exclude capital gains distributions. Cap gains distributions would be considered "income" on an individual return. And something odd happened when I tried to back out of the underpayment penalty questions: the calculated penalty changed even though I backed out. Fortunately the amount was very small. Finally, there might have been a bit more guidance about choosing Estimated Tax options: which option provides a "safe harbor" against underpayment penalties? These are minor issues: the software (at least the parts I had to deal with for my return) is well designed and easy to use.

Worked well for 2 member LLC that is not really a business, but a form of ownership for a family property. The property does rent out a residence and occasionally sells timber. One problem: when getting NY state forms, mistakenly got NY City forms as well.
