Pretty smooth, with a couple of issues. Notably, at one point the program told me I needed to file a form that could be found in the "Other Forms You May Need" section, which doesn't seem to exist. Also, not sure the form, which is a relic of the pandemic, is still a thing. Also, I did not enter in the form the long list of securities I sold in 2024, choosing instead the option to attach a separate list. But I e-filed, which means I will have to send that list to the IRS by postal mail. The software for individual returns provides a reminder and an address to do that, but there was no similar indication in the Business software of what to do for Trust returns.

For the most part, the program is pretty good. Of course, it's not what you would get with professional grade software in regard to ease and efficiency. Our main issue is that an extension can't be filed electronically, so we always send it Certified Mail in order to have concrete proof of mailing date and receipt by the IRS. Cost is the biggest plus compared to what a CPA would charge for my family's little LLC (gas royalties). We've been using TurboTax for several years.

In general, I am very pleased with "Turbo Tax Business - Desktop". However, like most things, there is room for improvement. Some screens could use a little more information or links to help to get context. A notable one was asking about forms I needed need and only included the form number. It wasn't clear why I was being asked. Were they forms to complete or forms TurboTax needed to include? I had to go outside TurboTax and research the Form! Simply finding the title of the form resolved my question, in my case. Yes, I could ask a Tax Professional, but this is wasting their time and possibly additional overhead for me -- just include a tiny bit more information and resolve many potential questions. I also use TurboTax Premier and it addresses this and other issues MUCH better. Another item would be the ability to import, again like in other products.

Spouse has used TurboTax for years, however I did the business tax return this year. I found the guided path pretty efficient to get through. I did make mistakes on a couple questions as the help text confused me. The question regarding pass-through entity reporting confused me and I made the wrong choice. Easy to fix, but it did cause some confusion as to the treatment of a NOL carry forward.

Excellent for the complexity of a trust. Got a little wonky when I did not want to provide beneficiary information - I should not have to provide it if I made no distributions. I had to provide personally identifiable information regarding the beneficiary - which is none of the state's business if I did not provide funds from the trust to the beneficiary.

A little easier this year with the important from a previous year, have been using this app since 20219. PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL WITH THE NEXT YEAR TAX APP TO DOWNLOAD!!! WHAT A PAIN, AND I THINK I BOUGHT ONE FROM ANOTHER APP! We have a very simple LLC.

The experience was great. I wish there was a little more information regarding where to put some service business cost of sales items. Otherwise really clear and easy to understand. I would also have like Montana Partnership to be an available option.

2024 Federal TurboTax Business for 1120-S is pretty good 4.5*: the input requested from the user in a questionnaire format and its automatic selection of the right tax forms and what goes where. The additional info on the way is also helpful, but my situation was very simple for an S-Corp. But 2024 State TurboTax Business for CA 100S was not that great: 3*. It did not have sufficient knowledge base to do all the things on its own and I had to dig into some of the FTB websites. It faltered in filling Form 3805Q for categorizing my company as GEN or ESB, not giving any hints on what Code to use for ESB, and simply not doing the Two-Year Comparison correctly for 2024, as well as not taking that info from last year's CA Form 100S, although I used TurboTax Business for that, too. So, an average score of approx. 4*.

Overall easy to follow the process. There are a couple spots where it asks questions about what you need, including asking if you need certain forms. It would be nice if the program gave more background around what those forms are or provide guidance based on the info you have input.

Three attempts today with live Turbo Tax consultants: The first was unable provide directions to connect to my computer screen The second connected to my screen but had no idea what to do with the error screen that I was supposed to correct; I asked to be transferred to a tax expert to answer the question. After five minutes of silence, she hung up the phone The third consultant discussed the puzzling screen with me and together we came up with a potential solution for information required, and it worked. Kudos to consultant #3
