Fine for federal but beware with states

Program worked fine for Federal but it did not include the state's forms we needed. No where on the website or program description does it say that some states are excluded. Spent an hour on the phone with TT and the reps there were very nice but equally surprised. They tried to help, but there was nothing to do, so had to fill out the state form manually and submit by mail. TT Business let me down this year.

Won't use again

I am a long time, very satisfied user of Turbo Tax for my personal taxes. Now I need to prepare trust returns. The lack of functions I am used to in the personal income tax program was very frustrating. For example, the business version does not allow for uploading brokerage statements. Also there is no running computation of tax liability in business version. Not all data transferred from previous year returns. Pretty annoying to have to use "form" screens to enter data manually. So basically I paid $190 for federal 1041 and $55 for state forms and very little of the functionality I am used to with Turbo tax. Don't plan to use next year.

For Trust tax returns assumes you know too much

Generally good, but lack of guidance on questions when filling out a trust return causes confusion. Much less easy to use than personal TurboTax. Links to help about what options mean or how you find out what you need to enter for various trust things would help. After completing Connecticut return, when I went to file it said I couldn't file CT electronically, but then didn't give me an option to print it

Still waiting for something better to come along

Like all Intuit products, it feels like nobody is even trying to make improvements. I have dozens of pages of notes that I use to complete my S-Corp taxes each year to compensate for the lack of intuitiveness of the product. I was again under impressed this year when TurboTax didn't even try to prepare my Utah K-1 properly. I'm glad I checked it closely and noticed that it failed to carry over a $30k tax credit to my Utah Schedule K-1s (line 18, code AP).

issues with fiduciary return

I usually use Turbo tax business for both the partnership and a trust of which I am the Trustee. The trust program cannot recognize that the Trustee of a grantor trust is not necessarily the grantor and the program does not allow for modifications to the form without causing e-filing issues.

Great Product for Those Who Understand Taxation

Hello! I used TurboTax to file taxes for my small business, and it was relatively straightforward once I got bookkeeping in line. That's where much of the perks of TurboTax come in! However, an area for improvement would be in the help documentation for areas such as write-off categorization. Further, the UI is quite ugly and could certainly be improved upon.

Never Again

Using TurboTax Business for the first time was an absolute nightmare. The software constantly required me to enter the same data multiple times just to review my work. It also kept asking for unnecessary inputs, making the process even more frustrating. The interface is clunky, and navigating through the forms is far from intuitive. Overall, it’s a poorly designed product that made filing more difficult than it needed to be. I expected a smoother experience, but instead, I wasted hours fighting with this software. Would not recommend!

First time this has had a problem.

Usually this product works beautifully. We are a partnership. This means our return has to be sent in by March 17th.This year there was a broken link in the farm section that prevented me from deleting capital equipment items that had been sold or disposed of. I called for help, they said they'd get onto it and it should be resolved by Monday, the 17th. Will see.

Turbo Tax is the way to go...

I was intimidated going in, but Turbo Tax quickly calmed me down. Very easy to navigate with answers for every question I had at my fingertips. I have paid a CPA for over 20 yrs. to have this done and am thrilled at the savings this has afforded me. I will highly recommend this product to anyone how asks.

Unneeded change in T.T. Business 2024

I have used T.T. Business for several years. For tax year 2024 version, the section in Income for handling Capital Gains, Income, Dividends is quite different from 2023. And quite different from the other input screens within the 2024 version. I found this difference to be confusing and disturbing and made me wonder if I was in the same product. I would highly recommend that the 'old way' be restored and not continued to 2025 version.
