NYC S Corps - Serious workflow problems

No E-file for NYC 4S. TTAX support CatinaT1 (Employee Tax Expert) responded to my question re e-file for NYC 4S "Looks like it is ready for efile.." This is wrong. TTAX does not support e-file for NYC 4S. Worse, the necessary step to print paper 4S is completely skipped in the filing process.

Turbotax for business is poor for Grantor Trusts

For some reason the program didn't populate the K-1 forms with dollar amounts. I went to the help pages without success. I needed to put the numbers in by hand. All I had to do was a simple Grantor Trust and the reason I bought the 2024 version for Business was so the K-1s were filled out correctly. This is the fifth year I have used your Business program to file my simple return and this has been a problem in past years. Since 1997 I have used Turbo tax Deluxe or Premier for my personal taxes and am very pleased with those products. I have an automatic order every year for the current Premier program. The Business program is NOT inexpensive and I need to use just a very small part of the program. For me, it is a waste of money. Since I can get the forms I need from the IRS web-site and I do not want to go through this next year. What would you do? I am using Windows 11 and a recently updated computer. I am very disappointed that year after year a problem crops up and I need to be in a chat or on the phone with your help desk for hours. The people are very pleasant and try to be helpful but usually to no avail. Your terms of use are lengthy and filled with legalese but is required, so I am checking it off under protest.

TurboTax doesn't e-file with CO

Several times numbers from previous year's return didn't come through. There were also cases where last year's selections weren't showing, so you have to re-look things up (Form B2, etc.) The whole bit with form 8453-PE and the physical signing - good grief! President Bill Clinton made it so e-mail was a valid signature! AND...I still can't e-file with CO. I feel like, for the grand price you are asking for this product, it's not doing very much for me. Looking into other options. At least I didn't have to fight the activation this year, so something got fixed - thanks.

Got the job done, but has room for improvement

The product should have a mechanism to change an estate fiduciary title to either "executor" or "administrator". The software auto-elects "executor" and does not allow the user to change it. Also on the 1041 Schedule G Line 14, the software doesn't prompt the user to check the box indicating withholding comes from a form 1099. The user must manually check the box themself in the "forms" section. It also then does not provide a mechanism to attach said form 1099 to the return which is required for proper filing. The software walkthrough should ask this question and if answered yes should then check the box and require the user to upload the form 1099.

Easy to Complete Forms But...

The instructions were thorough and the forms easy to complete. I would have awarded 5 stars except opening the form was not easy. When I clicked on the TurboTax Business 2024 application icon or the previously worked on tax return, I was taken to 2023 versions. I finally figured out how to open my 2024 file, but it should have been much easier.

Missing critical information in this years version

Instructions for filing state taxes not included this year. The state of Arkansas does not accept e-file for certain entities and they must be mailed. Every year the TurboTax software has included specific instructions for filing the state returns. I paid $55 for each entity and am left figuring out how to file the state for myself. Not good.

Problems identifying/naming signing Trustee

This product was used of a 1041 Grantor Trust where the Trustee is NOT the Grantor. The program could not seem to keep that information even though the correct trustee name was given and it appeared the Grantor's names were accepted. When it was time to sign and file, only the Grantor's name, and not the name of the Trustee to sign was on the form, except after a manual over-ride. Note- Terms and Conditions allow these comments to be edited by Intuit!!

Broken for Wi Returns

Doesn't allow Wisconsin efile for trusts. Asks for a pin number that doesn't exist and that WI doesn't require. Also insists that I add what foreign provinces my investments are in even though the answer is none. I'm going to have to file an extension and hire an accountant to do my taxes

Trust confusion

For the return I filed for a trust on which the grantor is still alive yet I am the trustee & signing the forms, the instructions could be more clear. I eventually had an epiphany to add myself as Grantor at 0%, then add the living Grantor information as 100%, and it finally came out right. I didn't speak with a TurboTax assistant but utilized the AI option, on which prompted me to figure out the right way to do this. More explanation in this area will be helpful.

Turbo Tax Bugs and Limitations with asset entry

Need a better way to import assets instead of just one at a time. Bugs. M2 Distributions use last years values, not the newly imported data. Every year 1120 3-4 balance sheet is messed up in 10a and 10b when adding in section 179. Also intangible assets include in my liabilities. Line 13c.
