TurboTax Business has taken the stress out of tax season for me. The interface is clean, intuitive, and incredibly easy to follow. I experienced no compatibility issues and built-in support was adequate for me. Even the more complicated business forms felt manageable thanks to the clear, step‑by‑step guidance. Entering financials as I went along and reviewing everything at the end is smooth and straightforward.

Not enough explanation of forms, no running total of taxes owed. I had to search in the support forum for too many topics, and those results were not curated so I couldn't assess whether the answers were correct or not - is a 5 year-old answer still reliable? I have no idea!

You required me to purchase a Franchise Tax Form before I could continue with filing my federal return. then you tell me I didn't need it and to call a phone number to get a refund. Then I literally spend two hours trying to get the refund! What a racket you run here. How many people buy this every year and then just blow off the refund because it is so hard to get one!

I am an experienced tax preparer who has been using turbo tax business for a long time. The product was easy to use, but I found the purchase so cumbersome that I ended up purchasing the federal version twice and I still cannot figure out how to get reimbursed for the second purchase. The product is too much of a black box and it is difficult to check for errors. You have to start all over again to check for input errors.

I used it to file a trust return. It is very difficult to use. It doesn't have the same features to input state specific tax exempt income. I had to create lots of 1099 entries to get that done manually. It doesn't handle 1099-OID. I had to add that manually in tax exempt interest. It also has conflicting information in lots of steps. It said that I would not be able to e-file, but then it did it... It didn't print the attachments that it made me create, so I hope it e-filed them!

The TurboTax business product is unreliable. After I had finished entering all the data and sent to our business partners to review, I came back in and had to correct some entries. I then sent the revised forms out for review again. When I came back in to review some of the comments, made some changes but then changed them back when I realized corrections were not necessary, the forms had incorrect information. TurboTax had not accepted the changes correctly. I deserted the changes and did not save that version. The second problem was with Form 8453-PE. I printed, signed and scanned the form as directed, however, TurboTax did not include the signed form in the submission package but instead submitted an unsigned copy. The printer forms included the same error. I originally started using the on-line version of the partnership business TurboTax, but after encountering numerous problems with the product, a TurboTax representative gave me a copy of the desktop version. That is the version to which this review refers.

The printing difficulties spoiled any good coming out of the software. Some of the problem may be with the size of the pdf files that are generated. There is no reason the files should range from 12 to 25 mb. It creates lops that cannot be stop without unplugging the printers and restarting the computer. Both actions are required. No more than six pages could be printed at a time. After determining six pages could be printed without difficulties, eight page were unsuccessfully attempted. Since states require filing by mail printing is an essential function of this software. It has been a nightmare.

way too many glitches. Continues to e an unpolished product. I've done three estates and a trust... and the estates dragged on for a few years. If I didn't have some background, it would have been a disaster. Things like: if you don't have a K-1 recipient, it doesn't understand. Deleting income sources from previous years is very clumsy as it retains the sources even though they were supposedly deleted. If an estate has continued for more than two years, there's a checkbox and you're supposed to give an explanation for why it is taking so long to settle. I had to "manually" create the form within the program, and only because I knew it was needed - I had not been prompted by the program. This is Simple stuff with a Simple estate. My complaints are not specific to current year tax changes. Even the creation of this review is aggravating as some cute AI that's built into the intuit site keeps clipping my words. Amazing. This is THE program for consumers, and is used for a very delicate topic, yet it is so poorly executed... year after year. I've tried one competitor, time for another.

Program changed all assets entered in previous years to "Qualified for Special Depreciation", selected 30% or 50% and entered "0.00" amounts. Assets were all originally entered with section179 deduction and never entered Qualified for special depreciation. I had to go back and change 3 entries on each of 33 assets to fix it.

I have been using TurboTax for Business since 2014 and it has been a rewarding, productive experience. I do not know, however, if you have done anything to improve the interaction between Quickbooks On-line and TurboTax for Business Desktop, because after trying a number of years, I ended up having to do manual downloading of data, because it was a nightmare trying to do it automatically.
