Good concept, flawed design
We loved the idea of having and outdoor griddle. However, this one missed the mark. The severe warping and uneven heating made cooking on it an impossible chore. We used it 3 times before returning. Hamburgers were charred on one side but not cooked through. Bacon turned to ash on the hit spots and pancakes the same. The warping created nearly a half inch dip between each burner and cooking directly on top of the printer's resulting immediate burning. The store manager was outright shocked when we returned it to see how terrible it looked. The flimsy cover was stuck to the griddle top after the first use and proceeded to crack and break by day two.

Awesome
A massive cooking surface to grill vegetables, shrimp, fish, etc. This thing is amazing. It does require a 20# propane tank rather than the traditional 15# tank, so you will have to buy one and get it filled at a propane vendor rather than do the cylinder exchange. Nice casters to roll it around the patio. The surface is extremely heavy, so I don't think I want to move it too much, but it is the perfect addition to a traditional grill so you can cook all your sides or things too messy on a grill. The cover is not tight and does not have form fitting velcro or a drawstring to keep it on in the wind. I just got a bungee cord to keep it covered when not in use and to prevent the wind from blowing it off.
Not bad for the price
Assembly was very easy. Phillips screwdriver was all that was needed. I have used it twice and it performed very well. I seasoned the cooking surface, and the surface finish is great. I have three negative complaints. The front 4 inches of the griddle surface has no direct heat under it, so that temps are lower. Some might consider this a feature. The sides of the burner box to griddle have a gap and the heat coming out of that area is enough to singe the hair on your arm. They need to add heat shields like several of the other brand griddles. My final issue was the soft cover. Itis very short (doesnt go down to the shelf, let alone the wheels.) The cover has little velcro strips sewn on the ends, but it won't even hold the cover on during slight winds.

My husband cooks on it almost every night
Love it
We so love hearing this!!!!
Should have listened to the lesser reviews.
I read several 1 star reviews with the following complaints: difficulty with assembly due to holes not lining up for screws, as well as the griddle top itself bowing when heating up. I ignored them because I figured other people might have been assembling it wrong, or that they were heating the grill too quickly.....I also had a hard time putting mine together due to holes not lining up. Luckily the bottom shelf has 3 screws supporting it at each corner because at least 3 screws overall simply would not screw in due holes not lining up. Once I fired it up to season the top, it bowed immediately with the heat on the lowest setting! It isn't super bad, but its enough to cause the grease to run left and right. Not ideal for a flat top grill. One side is still relatively flat. I'll keep it for now because it still cooks okay. Wishing that I had just spent another $100 and gotten the Blackstone.
We are sorry to hear you are having these issues with your griddle! We would love to get more feed back you on what all started to breakdown on your griddle. Be informed when you buy
This griddle is a good buy for the money. Be aware that it does need some modifying. The top is thick as any other maker, however it does not have any angle iron braces on the back to avoid warping. I have a name brand as as well and they put 3 braces length wise on the bottom to avoid warpage. This griddle actually burns a lot hotter than the name brand. I tested the heat with a heat gun and it reached 680 degrees. I added the braces when I bought it and have had no problems with it. I like the center grease trap compared to the name brand. The name brand with the front channel will drain the grease on the leg of the unit unless it is modified to direct it to a catch can. The cover is cheap and it will blow off. I have only had it a short time and it ripped at the seam on the left already . (5 or 6 removals at most) I would recommend this only if you can modify the top.
Thank you for your suggestions. We will get these to our engineers for future modifications and improvements.
Disappointed
It has a large surface area but only about 2/3 of it actually gets hot enough to cook on. It seasoned well enough, but I'm disappointed that you can't actually cook on the whole surface. I guess you could just use the front portion to keep things warm. Probably not going to keep it.
great
Purchased this for my dad. I read so many reviews for Blackstone, off brand and members mark flat griddles. Blackstone has many negative reviews of coming in damaged. The off brands had many negative reviews stating they did not cook even. Members Mark negative reviews were majority for rusting. Since this was for a Christmas present Sams club had a sale on this item. I purchased the protection plan just in case. My dad read the directions and seasoned it maybe 4 times before he has used it. Every time he uses it he seasons it like the directions say. He has had it since Christmas and LOVES it. He has used it so many times and has yet to tell me that there is rust. So my advice is take care your griddle and you will not be disappointed.

Get better screws
Good quality cheap hardware. The screws are horrible and make assembly way harder than it has to be. The griddle is good and the quality is good but the treason i gave it three stars is because the hardware to assemble is so bad that it causes a struggle and issues during assembly. Also some of the angles are difficult to reach with regular tools. Overall the hardware killed the rating.
Good but not so good!
Initially, I had left a question about problems with seasoning the griddle. I found that it didn't cause the oil to smoke at the front area, leaving a sticky mess. Well, here's an update. After leaving the griddle covered up overnight, I decided to check the surface and found that it had warped above all 4 burners, causing a dip at each. This meant that when checking with a straight-edge, there was a gap of aprox. 1/32nd of an inch, which in turn meant that the included scraper would not touch the surface at the dip. So, instead of worrying about seasoning it, my next problem was, after dismantling it, trying to figure out how to pack it back into the carton for a return trip to Sam's Club. I finally managed to get everything in and taped up the carton, although I couldn't find space for all the styrofoam. I explained the problem about the warping to the Sam's Club CSR and she refunded my money without any questions. It's unfortunate that this griddle is not reinforced underneath, like another well-known brand because, in all other aspects, this one is far better made. Yes, it takes longer to assemble the cart but once built up, you end up with a rock-solid base. One reviewer commented on the short screws not allowing him to get enough torque. Let me just say as an engineer, that once the screws are fully tightened correctly, this cart is capable of being used as a work bench - it is far superior to the one I ended up getting. But now I have a well seasoned griddle without any signs of warping and I can live with the slightly flimsier cart. Here's a tip I've since learned about unpacking virtually anything that comes unassembled - take pictures of each stage of removal from the carton, just in case you need to return it. It will save a lot of time and frustration. I've given this griddle three stars for the great quality of everything except the top, which is the most important. Also, the fact that it comes with accessories makes it great value -if only..
