PS Portal Remote is Cool!

When you get it set up it works really well. Setup is easy, but when I updated it lost all the settings and I had to sync it up again with my PS5. The screen is very nice, though, and the response is fast. If you hav a PS5 and like to play in bed, when others are watching the TV, or on the go (with Wifi) I'd recommend.

Love this PlayStation Portal

This PsP is Amazing! I am able to play my PlayStation anywhere! The controls are comfortable and feel like a normal PlayStation remote. Only downside is that it’s pretty heavy and you only get about 2.5 hours game play before recharge. If you don’t power it down after playing, it still stays connected and dies pretty quickly.

Playstation Portal FTW

The PS5 is my main system and this PS Portal extends my ability to play if I want to hang out in my bedroom or outside of my home when on trips. Once the wi-fi and port forwarding fixes were made, it has worked like a dream. Solid piece of hardware built on the Backbone idea and made it look/feel like a first-party experience.

not limited by imagination, only sony

connects pretty simple. screen is large and vivid. horrible battery life for such a large item. spotty connection link at times and have to put in airplane mode and back to connect. i wish there were a micro sd slot for more function to play movies, pics, storage and such. sony has a limited imagination and drastically limited the ps5 compared to the ps3. Come on you can't even play an avi file and selective on most others, but i ramble which has nothing to do with the portal. i will be taking it on the road once the case arrives and see how it works. i don't think you will have any regrets, just limitations. they gotta do better and seems they have plateaud instead of pushing the boundary. it is nice to play games while the tv is used by others without bothering them. YouTube says you can play the portal without buying a system, but you need to do your own research

Great device

If you meet two requirements, this device is exactly what it says it is. First, high speed internet. Second, a PS5 connected via Ethernet cable-not WiFi. I was hesitant to buy a portal, but I’m glad I finally did %26 think now is a good time to do so with all the updates it’s had. I’ve had no issues playing any of my games, from single player offline ones, to multiplayer online games like BO6 %26 Off the Grid. I’ve really been impressed with it so far. For a cloud gaming device only, this one is solid %26 Ive tried others including my phone. You can also use the portal without a PS5 by paying the highest tier PS Plus subscription, and streaming games from the cloud. At $200 or less on sale, it’s a great addition to your PlayStation experience provided you have the network setup to support it.

Disappointing First-Time Setup and Performance

Setting up the PS5 Portal was quite frustrating. Right from the start, I faced an issue with the system update. After a long time trying to figure out why the update wouldn’t proceed, I discovered that the date and time settings should be left alone for the update to work. This wasn’t intuitive at all, and it delayed the entire process. For a new device, I expected a much smoother setup experience. Even after I finally got the system updated, I encountered serious performance problems. Despite having a very fast internet connection, the gameplay wasn’t smooth. Every few seconds, there was a noticeable slow-motion crash that interrupted the flow, and it never went away. I tried switching between different Wi-Fi connections, but the issue persisted. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience for a premium device, especially considering the high expectations I had.

Great for comfort and convenience

Great for someone who's looking for a more casual way of gaming on your PS5 or for people who arent able to have themselves planted in front of there TV throughout their day. I am finally finishing off all my those games I did not finish just by laying in bed. For a person who uses a TV setup by the bedside, I was bot able to play more than an hour without feeling very uncomfortable and ending my gaming session, but with the portal im able to just kick back on the couch or the bed and continue where i left off. I do about %90 of my PS gaming through the portal now. Only downside is that you do have to have a good internet connection speed to really enjoy the experience it gives. I was on a 500mb fiber plan with a household FULL of electronics and it was not enough to support the portal to the best of its ability. I upgraded to a 1gb plan and i have absolutely no problems with it now. If you dont have a high speed internet plan or are not planning to upgrade to one, try hard lining your PS5 to your router. That would definitely help with any connectivity issues you might encounter.

I can play in the bathroom and even outside.

Love it, works good once hardwiring the PS5 to ethernet on your router and being on good strong wifi. Leave it in rest mode and gain the freedom to play from around the house, even outside if there's a good wifi signal. It's essentially a PS5 controller with an OLED monitor in the middle. For audio, you can plug in headphones or earbuds, but on Sony's Pulse Headphones and Earbuds will connect via Sony's proprietary bluetooth connection. There has been some hacks on youtube using a bluetooth adapted connected to the audio port to use any bluetooth earbuds or headphones with it.

Finally Got One and Keeping It

I've punted this purchases for a long time, but after the latest update with cloud gaming I thought I'd give it a try. It works very well. I can't play games like Doom with a good experience, but any youtube video would share that sentiment, but rpg's and games that don't mind a slight lag are awesome to play. It's been a great way to sit in my office while recovering from a ruptured achilies tendon.
