One dislike for me was the comfort level over prolonged use, after the 45 minute mark they did hurt my ears a little on my long walks/runs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was intrigued by the Live Flex because it's rare to see ear buds with no silicone tip. I don't think I have ever seen them with active noise cancelling (ANC) before. The promise of crystal clear phone calls was a bonus because this is typically where true wireless (TW) buds have failed me. This review will focus on those differentiators which make the Live Flex standout in a crowded category. First the ANC. It is important to remember without silicone tips you do not have good sound isolation. No amount of ANC will change that. If you want to be totally immune to your surroundings these are not for you. However, the ANC works surprisingly well. I wore them for several full days of working from home. They did not have a huge impact there because the majority of the noise is from my children's mouths. Children talking has never been a strong point for ANC. I also wore them in a busy commuter train to NYC. Here the ANC was much more impactful. I stopped using my other TW buds when I commute because I had to listen at such high volumes on the train. These solve for that beautifully. I imagine they would be ok on a plane, but I'll still always prefer an over the ear option in the air. the calls were noticeably clearer than any other TW buds I have ever used. I conducted about 20 hours of zoom and Google meet meetings with no complaints. A huge win for travel. Sound is great. Vocals come through clear. The bass is impressively present. Even booming during heavier tracks. I listen to a wide range of music from punk rock to hardstyle and these didn't feel like wearing an audio sacrifice. That is a common problem with any type of in ear option and I felt perfectly content with these. Comfort is where I took away a star. I was super excited for the design, but they started to feel uncomfortable where the top of the bud meets the inside of my (ear bowl?). After about 75-90 minutes the discomfort predictably sets in. It's minor discomfort, but rules out the possibility of these being the only headphones I travel with.

The left and right stereo sound that they reproduce is w-i-d-e and amazing. This is true whether you're listening to music, audiobooks or just chatting with your friends on the phone. Download the app to your phone for more technical audio features. These earbuds are very lightweight and will provide hours of listening pleasure without getting ear fatigue. One of the features that I am em enjoying is that these earbuds only FIT in your ear ONE way :) Battery life is amazing, with up to eight hours on a single charge and three charges from the built in case/ charger. I really like it that you can connect to ‘Hey Google' as well as ‘Alexa'. My pair even connects to ‘Hey Siri' on my laptop. The only thing I would change is the lighted chevrons on the CASE. There are seven chevrons but only THREE light up to show a full charge? Overall, job well done JBL!

These JBL Live Flex True Wireless Noise Cancelling ear buds have changed my view. They fit comfortably snug in my ears, they provide freedom to move freely, the sound is so crisp, and the noise cancelling is almost too good. Watching movies or my fav show with these ear bud with the noise cancelling on makes sound so vivid and enhances the experience. Learning to use the “tap” for answering calls or pause took some getting used to for me as it is sensitive. The app provided a way for me to adjust sound for audio/video, “find my buds” sound locator, and all the other adjustments I am still learning about. The small black charging, carrying case fits easily in my purse or pocket. Overall I am enjoying using the JBL Live Flex earbuds because of the secure comfortable fit, wonderful sound quality and noise cancelling quality.
