Bad Product

Bought this from Sam's Club, worked great for the first year when this product was in warranty. Now it's fan is running but not collecting water. Manufacture told me that I have to pay everything from my own pocket. Luckily I bought extended warranty so I got little compensate. Now it is going to landfill :(

Throw away unit. Buy a different Brand.

Like many of the other reviews on here. This is a throw away unit. Don't waste your money. I only use this during the summer months and this being the second summer have had less than a year's worth of use. Unit started freezing up this summer and now does not dehumidify. Was just on with Midea customer service and they said only a year warranty and they could not help me. For any Midea customer service people reading this, my case number is 111950465. Based on their support of the product, buy a different brand! I won't try anything Midea and will spread my experience to others.

STAY AWAY from Media :-)

We purchased this dehumidifier because we figured it would be more efficient than our 20 + year old one we were currently using. Within 18 months the compressor stopped working. We did all the troubleshooting with Media and the bottom line was, it's out of warranty? How could we have a 20 year old one that still works? Come on Media, you can do better than that.

These don't last more than a year

We purchased two of these units from Sam's. One didn't last 12 months, and the other slightly longer. Way too many issues, including fan runs but no longer removes water, freezes up, leaks and won't cut off when full, and dies altogether ... I recommend you look at other brands - which is what I'm doing today.

Should have read reviews before buying

Bought this dehumidifier last year. Ran it for three months, worked fine, then this year turned it on no compressor, just fan working. Called customer service and they said it was out of warranty and that they would look for a repair service at our expense...What a waste of money.. Do not buy..

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT

DON'T BUY THIS UNIT. My last one lasted 15 years. This one was purchased two years ago. I've only used it for two months out of the year - July and August each year. This summer (2023) the unit doesn't work and of course it's out of warranty. I wish I had read the reviews before making this purchase. I would never buy a Midea product ever againi.

These units only last 2 years if you are lucky

As others have said...2 years is all you might get on these units. Mine worked well for almost exactly 2 years. It has stopped dehumidifying, and after contacting support was told that it was no longer under warranty, which I was aware though was hopingt that they had suggested fixes or solutions. I noticed that the Honewell has a 5 year warranty, so I am going that direction for my next dehumidifier...these things are ridiculously disposable, and they should not be.

Very disappointed!

Beware! Purchased MAD50PS1WS from Sam's 3/22 and used it during the humid summer months. Cleaned and stored in our finished basement. When I plugged it in to run this May, the compressor would not come on. The fan runs but it does not collect water. Unfortunately the 1 year warranty expired before we got to use it a second season. Midea won't stand behind it and Sam's 90 day return is a NO. Now I have a nearly $200 unit that worked for approximately 5 months! Had to buy a new one that has 2 year warranty. Fingers crossed! Don't buy this one!

Only lasted 16 months.

Bought unit in May 2022 and stopped working September 2023. Freezes up and auto defrost does not seem to work. Very little water is produced after several hours. A chat on line referred me to a repair center. The repair center advised that they do not work on dehumidifers. Apparently a throw way unit.
