Great unit, Great Price
Compact, lightweight, powerful unit perfect for our 700 sq ft basement. We ran the drain tube down the drain for our washer machine and it’s perfect. Set it and forget it; no more musty smells! We’ve been running it for about a month and notice a huge difference in our home but not in our energy costs as an added bonus. I haven’t felt the need to add it to my google home devices as of yet but the processes seems simple enough.

Great Machine
Great machine. It's easy to use and does an outstanding job. It is fairly heavy duty. I was surprised at the quality for the price. I use a hose to drain the water into a reservoir emptied by a sump pump. I'm very pleased.

Nice machine
The pump is the best feature on this product. It allows you greater flexibility on where to place the dehumidifier. Plug it in and let it go to work. No worries about emptying the bucket.

Great for basements
Gets the job done! I was in need of this dehumidifier because my old one went out after 15 years of use. This one has been working double time this summer 👍🏼 lots of humidity in SoCal(yes, the house has a basement). It has been the best purchase I’ve made in the last two months.

Don't Last Long
This is a nice dehumidifier and really pulls a lot ofoisture out of the air. This is my third one. The other two lasted between one and two years. I hope this one lasts longer. If you buy one, I would highly suggest you get the extended warranty.

Good for a couple years.
I bought this a couple years ago, and liked that I could run the hose through some cabinets to the drain and the pump would pump the water out. It worked well until this spring and now no longer dehumidifies. The fan still runs, but it appears that the compressor isn't turning on.

Moldy "new" out of the box Dehumidifer
I purchased your Midea Dehumidifier MAD50PS1WS, on 1/16 from Sam's Club in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I registered the dehumidifier and emailed the necessary proof of purchase and information, as per the provided instructions. I started setting up the dehumidifier on 1/18. At that point I discovered concerning issues with mold inside the product. The basin, designed to hold water, revealed mold at the bottom, and further inspection uncovered mold within the parts that the basin fits over. Additionally, the back panel exhibited dust and grime, while the filter showed signs of mold as well. I find this situation perplexing, as the packaging was sealed with no indication of prior tampering. The unit was securely contained in Styrofoam and bound with plastic straps, further reinforcing that it had not been removed from its original packaging. Understandably, I am uncomfortable using a product that could potentially distribute mold spores throughout my home. After finding the mold, I sent notice to your customer service address (Request #267857) about the condition of the unit, including pictures of the parts of the unit with he mold. In my initial complaint, i explained that the nearest Sam's was 140 miles from my home 280 miles round trip. I receive a condescending, unhelpful and insincere reply from "Christian F. (Midea) ". Her direction to me is to return the dehumidifier to the Sam's I purchased it from. Considering the condition of the dehumidifier, returning it to the retailer (Sam's Club) poses challenges, as I mentioned the location is 140 miles (280 miles round-trip) from my residence, making a return impractical, given my rural location in Idaho. Moreover, the time lapse until my next planned trip to the retailer would surpass the acceptable return window, leaving me without the intended use of the dehumidifier for an extended period, now when I need it to control the humidity in my home. Your customer service replied to me to let me know it was on me to return the unit and that was all the"service" offered to me. This is WRONG! I purchased a seal unit, only to open it and find mold, that I don't want to blow all over my home. I am reaching out to you in the hope that you can assist me in finding a satisfactory resolution to this predicament. I kindly request that you consider sending a replacement unit or facilitating a refund. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated, as it directly impacts my immediate need for a functional dehumidifier.

Not a chance
Bought first one, there was a small hole on the top. Try to ask Sam's to please let me see if there was all good before carrying over to my house, they said I couldn't. Arrived home, opened the box and the hole was bigger than the other.

Great in concept, poor execution
I bought this after reading a multitude of positive reviews it receives. It's #1 on just about every review site. Unfortunately, this thing is great in concept but a hot mess in execution. I've had nothing but problems with it since installing it, even in bucket mode. First, the humidistat is just plain wrong. I have other humidity gauges that agree with each other. The Midea's seems to be off by 20%. That means it keeps running way too long before it shuts off. If I set it to 50% it will keep running even when it's under 40% in reality. Using it in bucket mode is a bad idea long term. The unit is very heavy and the bucket itself is extremely unwieldy and doesn't empty cleanly. You will drip water everywhere. Most people buy this knowing they will use either the drain or pump, that's the only way it would work long term. Also, I have experienced several error codes and issues right from the start, for example, the control panel fan wouldn't go from low to high. I had to unplug it and re-start it, and apparently that fixed itself. The app needs work as well. I really wish this would have worked, since I have a Midea A/C window unit that works fine. It would have been nice being able to control both via the app, but I'm returning this dehumidifier. If you read experiences from other users, there are too many issues with this model. I'm actually surprised it receives so much praise.
