I have always bought the miracle grow potting soil at Sam's this year that was not available and I thought I would give their product a try. Big mistake. I opened up the bag. It was actually moldy at the top and musty smelling clumps of wood. This is not good potting soil. My only regret is that I bought two bags. It is a very inferior product so now I am heading to my local store to buy the miracle grow potting soil.

I bought one bag because Sams didn't have the Miracle Grow potting mix and a month later still doesn't have it in. Disappointing! I was not impressed with the mm potting soil bag at all. Lots of bark pieces, soil didn't smell earthy but smelled weird. There were no vermiculite particles visible at all but it had white cardboard type of materials stuck together and tissue paper types of pieces that on first glance looked like mold. It didn't smell like mold though. I used it for a huge outdoor pot because I had emptied it. We recently had several days of freezing weather and I will need to replace a lot of plants but I guess HD will get my business for my soil. I'm a gardener and former nursery landscaping business owner. There is nothing better than Miracle Grow soil. Please restock as soon as possible. Thanks. Sorry for the not so good review! If you were going camping, you should buy a bag of this potting soil. You'll find sticks for kindling in the bag than you would at your camp site. This is terrible potting soil. Seriously way too many sticks and uncomposted material. It was also the driest potting soil I've ever purchased. I wish I just spent a few dollars more and got the name brand from the garden center.

I won't buy again. I bought because they didn't have Miracle Grow potting mix but there are so many sticks and wood chunks that out of nine bags or potting mix I had at least a half bag of sticks and chunks of wood. I spent way too much time picking out the large sticks and other wood when filling all the pots I keep on my patio.

We felt the potting soil was more like mulch. Large chunks of wood. We tried it because Sam's did not have our usual potting soil for sale and because the price was very attractive. After working with this product for some deck containers, we will only use this for outdoor flower beds, where it can serve as a soil/mulch combo.

Very disappointed. This mix had lots of wood chunks. It was more like a mulch mix than potting soil. I was planning on using it to up-pot seedlings. I have actually used three different products so far this year and this one actually molded on the surface of the pots and now I have fungus gnats. The other two mixes have been fine. This product may work better for larger containers that will remain outdoors but not a good fit for enclosed greenhouse.

Do not buy this if you want your plants to thrive. I am an experienced gardener and have been using Miracle Grow Moisture Control to pot my seedlings into larger containers before setting them out to the garden. My seedlings this year appear stunted and are failing to thrive. The Members Mark potting mix has a lot of larger pieces of bark, some package ( same pallet lead) have mold and dye transfer in the soil. A seriously inferior product to the Miracle Gro brand.

Nothing like Miracle grows moisture control. This products contains shredded wood that is the equivalent of mulch mixed into dirt. Disappointed. Doesn't hold moisture like the good stuff. Guess I'll be buying miracle grow somewhere else since Sam's replaced it with this product. I buy 10 bags every spring for my pots.

DO NOT BUY this crap. It was mostly twigs, bark, etc. I had to look at the bag twice to make sure I didn't buy mulch by mistake, it was that BAD!!!! This isn't potting soil, this should be labeled mulch or something else... geeeezzzz, HORRIBLE. I think its the worst potting mix I have ever purchased.

While the price beats the name brand, the quality is just as low. This is more like double ground mulch. Lots of large pieces of sticks and wood. There were clumps of whitish grey that are probably either mold or fertilizer. Either way, not good for planting. I will likely spend the extra money and stick to the name brand next year.
