We felt the potting soil was more like mulch. Large chunks of wood. We tried it because Sam's did not have our usual potting soil for sale and because the price was very attractive. After working with this product for some deck containers, we will only use this for outdoor flower beds, where it can serve as a soil/mulch combo.

When I first opened the bag I purchased, I initially thought I had purchased mulch by mistake. This product is filled with an unacceptably high volume of wood chips/chunks. Before each use, I have to hand sift the material to remove dozens of wood product. Also, the most recent sifting effort produced a three inch piece of wire. Sam's Club, your supplier has very poor QC.

Nothing like Miracle grows moisture control. This products contains shredded wood that is the equivalent of mulch mixed into dirt. Disappointed. Doesn't hold moisture like the good stuff. Guess I'll be buying miracle grow somewhere else since Sam's replaced it with this product. I buy 10 bags every spring for my pots.

When Sam's Club didn't offer Miracle Grow potting soil this year I went ahead and purchased 6 bags of their brand, hoping perhaps it was Miracle Grown under the Members Mark brand. Not even close! The amount and size of wood pieces makes this product of very poor quality. If I had the stature and good lift the heavy bags into my trunk I would definitely have returned. For only $1 more Menards had Miracle Grow.

As someone who spends hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on annuals and potting soil, finding this product was a blessing! Miracle grow is demanding as much as 27.00 for the same size bag. If you want to support a giant corporation and pay for their Ritz Carlton convention rooms- be my guest. The fact that so many are mortified there is a few pieces of wood in the bag is laughable. Good quality potting soil contains natural components.

I would give this a zero star if I could. I have seen mulch with smaller pieces of sticks. It is not worth the price. By the time I pick out the large chunks of wood there is not a lot of dirt. bring back Miracle Grow! Next time I will go to Lowes and get Miracle Grow

I have always bought the miracle grow potting soil at Sam's this year that was not available and I thought I would give their product a try. Big mistake. I opened up the bag. It was actually moldy at the top and musty smelling clumps of wood. This is not good potting soil. My only regret is that I bought two bags. It is a very inferior product so now I am heading to my local store to buy the miracle grow potting soil.

If you want to plant your seedlings in chunks of wood, sticks and rocks, this is your mix. Otherwise, don't buy it. I opened the bag today and only used a small amount of it to transplant 2 6-cell seedling trays. This is what I got out of that little amount. I bought the bag because of the price, but there's so little soil and so much other stuff that it's not a bargain, and it takes a long time to shift through.

Buyer beware! I hardly ever write reviews but this one warrants one. This potting soil, if you can call it that, is horrible. It is dry and filled with so much wood product that it is hard to work with. I went ahead and planted my flowers in it anyway and they aren't doing very well. I'm going back to Miracle Grow.

This is a low quality substitution gif the Miracle Gro moisture control potting soil that Sam's used to sell. The bag is even the Sam color as the Miracle Gro but the actual product is poor at best!! Alot of other organic stuff (bark, clumps and other material) versus MG is just soft, fluffy potting soil. Do not waste your $ for a couple $ more Miracle Gro moisture control potting soil is far superior!!
