I decided to buy this instead of Miracle Gro. I had been buying MG and decided for the price to give this a try. Sadly that was a HUGH mistake., This is pure pine bark using the term mulch lightly, with some dirt mixed in. HORRIBLE stuff. Okay for adding it into clay to loosen it, but otherwise run from this stuff, as it stinks like pine. Stick with Miracle Gro for a great potting soil for your plants. Had I not opened it, it would have made a fast trip back to Sams. This stuff is not as good as the area here where we can buy a load of mulch for ten dollars. I hardly ever write reviews, but did not want others to make the mistake I made. Well, back to Sams for Miracle Gro.

LOW in nutrients ! skip this one.the NPK ration on this is 10-5-12 thats HALF of Miracle grow. 21-11-16 i normally buy the miracle grow moisture control from Sams club however i noticed this year they are not carrying it . Your definitely going to need additional fertilizer to get the same result.

Was disappointed that they did not have Miracle Gro available this year (2026). Took a chance nd bough Members Mark Planting Soil. I am SO DISAPPOINTED with the quality of this soil. There is so much bark and solid matter in it. Bought three bags and plan to return 2.

Well, just a start, I am not able to use a lot of the potting soil because of the time of year it is(February). I did, however, change the soil in my potted plant that I have inside the house with the Members Mark professional potting mix. The mixture looks of good quality and you can see nutrients throughout. I can’t wait to use the Members Mark potting soil in the spring for the outside plants!

Not even potting soil. Essentially mulch with an occasional rock. I cannot believe i paid for this garbage. Now I have to drive back to return this and buy miracle grow (which i normally buy but this looked similar in its description so I thought it was possibly made by miracle grow). I have better things to do with my time.....

Our experience is similar to others...So much wood chips to soil ratio that this would be better marketed as mulch. When we super-saturated the product, enough wood chips floated to the surface that we could top off the entire bed with the chips, and then some.

Not happy with this soil at all. I purchased this as a potting soil to start my vegetable seeds. It is more like a garden soil. Full of wood chips. Now I am going to have to replant my seeds. I will be buying miracle grow brand this time. I would return but it would be a pain to return a huge bag of opened soil.

I love my plants and this year I have added a small garden spot. I have always been an avid user of Miracle Grow and still am but I have been using Member's Mark Potting Mix Planting Soil and I have learned that it works just as well and is less expensive. I am now using Expert Fertilizers and other of their products. I am getting my gardening done at lower costs.

This has worked great for us. Plants are happy, the mix has a great texture, and no quality issues. I recently purchased several bsgs of this one week, and then the big brand soil the next week when it was on sale. I truly thought they would be similar, but the Members Mark mix was superior in texture, which was fine and lightweight. The other had sticks and larger chunks of non-composted material. I'm curious to see if I will see a difference in growth once the plants are further along.

I bought this potting mix last year but it contains no soil or water absorbing material. This potting mix is very light-weighted, like feather or some kind of shredded material. Doesn’t hold water and it’s so loose that winds blow it away easily. I tried plant chili peppers, tomatoes and eggplants but they all grew miserably.
