I was excited about getting potting mix in such a high quantity for a good price. As I needed to pot houseplants and up pot seedlings for my garden. Sad to say that nothings has grown. It's like once planted everything stopped growing. Or it's been very difficult.

I normally purchase Miracle Grow Potting Soil from Sam's Club. The club was out of stock so I bought 5 bags of Member's Mark Potting Mix. It is the worst potting mix I have ever purchased! It is sooooo dry and full of sticks. No perlite or vermiculite in it, I have been planting flowers for many, many years and Sam's Club should be ashamed to sell something of such inferior quality. Don't waste your money. If I could give it no stars I would.

This is nice soil. It has peat moss, perlite and composted shavings. There are a few small pieces of wood, but not too many. Extended release fertilizer is present. It has a light airy feel. Attempts to wet it initially were a little slow. After wetting it seems to hold water adequately.

The potting soil is moist and doesn't smell too bad. My husband is out green thumb and so he planted jalapeno seeds to try and make pepper plants. I replanted one of my plants that was failing in the pot it was in. This potting soil was better looking and the plants have began sprouting.

DO NOT BUY this crap. It was mostly twigs, bark, etc. I had to look at the bag twice to make sure I didn't buy mulch by mistake, it was that BAD!!!! This isn't potting soil, this should be labeled mulch or something else... geeeezzzz, HORRIBLE. I think its the worst potting mix I have ever purchased.

If I could rate this soil a -10 I would. Worst soil ever! Dirt is moldy, very dry and has a bad smell. ALL of my plants in ALL of the pots I planted have died! These plants were bought at different greenhouses. Same plants I buy every year and get great results when I use Miracle Grow Moisture soil. I bought the Sams brand after reading the positive reviews. Sorry I wasted my money.

I have been a Sam's member for 31 years. I appreciate that they sell good products at a good price. This is not one of them. Very woody. Practically mulch. Things grow sort of OK in it but definitely not great. It certainly doesn't look like soil. Telling me it's "soil less" isn't something I care about. I will not buy this item again! They used to sell Miracle Gro potting mix that was much much better. It was what I wanted this year but it was not offered. Bring back the Miracle Gro product!

This is good quality potting soil that works well with repotting plants as well as growing new plants. It absorbs a lot of water without becoming muddy. It is easy to work with, and can be used in other places in your yard. It is well priced, and essential for your garden.

Seems like good stuff...nice and fluffy. Not full of junk. We'll see for sure once things start growing. The problem is its scarcity. I had to travel to an inconvenient location to get it. I could use more, but it's not available anywhere nearby.

This product has changed in its consistency from last season. Same packaging. This product contains the same ingredients but are courser in texture. The coconut coir is course shedded as opposed to finely ground coir in last seasons mix. The pine bark is larger but shows good decomposition. I have not used this new courser mix but it looks promising. It should have good moisture retention and excellent aeration.
