I don’t see how they call this soil! First of all let’s start with the stains it left on the concrete. It seems as if they added dye to make it brown. Second there is no soil, they are calling chips soil. The amount of large sticks in the “soil” is ridiculous. I wasted so much money. I’ve been fertilizing and watering correctly and still no growth from my plants or seedlings. I’m guessing it’s from the lack of nutrients. Buyers beware. I certainly hope they change something soon.

Unfortunately I bought 10 bags of this for my raised beds. Every plant I planted is still the same size weeks later (if alive). I used another brand of potting mix in one of my raised beds and the tomatoes and beans are now 6 feet tall and producing like crazy (same starts planted at the same time). Such a sad waste!

This is marketed as an indoor/ outdoor potting soil for plants. This should be a "raised bed soil" due to the amount of wood chips / branches. I am glad I only purchased one bag since I need 10 bags total for my plants. I usually use Miracle Grow and was hoping this would be a good alternative. I am taking it outside to put into my compost heaps. Very disappointed in the quality.

No way is this product potting soil. It looks like half rotted compost that needs another year. It’s so full of sticks there is no way you can plant a small seed in a starter pack. Just too much wood in the way. No detectable vermiculite or other additive. Stick with the brand name. You’re wasting your money on this overpriced stuff whatever it is. Wish I could post a picture of what it looks like in a tray of starter packs

Bought this potting mix at the beginning of spring to get the new seedlings sprouted. Thoroughly disappointed that so far nothing has sprouted after about a month. Planted the seeds from same batch into regular miracle gro potting mix and sees sprouted in less than a week. Price is great but product is useless if you are trying to sprout new seedlings.

We used this in 2019 and 2020 and it was my favorite. We patiently waited, and scooped 10 bags as soon as it was in store. This year, 2021, it is strange, gritty, dense, and doesn’t seem to drain. My mistake for not buying a single bag and checking it out. Wish they had not changed it. It is NOT a high quality potting mix as in the past.

I purchased 5 bags of this for my container garden. The mix in each bag smelled moldy although I didn’t see any mold. I used it anyway but I don’t know how my plants will do in it. There were lots of large pieces of bark in it. I don’t think I’ll use it again.

This used to be good potting soil! I started over seven hundred vegetable plants mid January in this spotting soil. They came up and grew to about an inch tall and quit growing and look to be dying now. I knew the soil looked terrible but used it anyway since I had bought it already. Terrible lesson learned! We have a roadside stand my daughter sells plant at and this is the first time in many years we won't have plants to sell.

Needing to replenish my garden soil, I shopped the usual suspects for good deals. This by far was the best value for the amount. Don't be fooled as they change whether it's quarts or cubic feet to confuse you. Always do the math as to what is best. The mix of organics, perlite and soil is good on this one.

I never take time to review items, but this year, the potting mix is horrible and I felt responsible to noyify other gardners about the issue. In previous years, I have have bought a lot of this potting mix and it was great. This year, 2021, the soil is horrible. It looks more like old mulch that dirt. It had a lot of white mold and lots of wood chunks. It is unsuitable for indoor use and semi usable outdoors. Wish I would have known before my wife placed in the planters outside or I would have returned all 10 bags. Every bag was the same. Maybe its just a NJ area issue, but skip this year.
