I purchased this soil to transplant my seedlings. I did this in spring when it was too cold for plants outside. shortly after transplanting I had fungus gnats all over my house. They are in my house plants now and I'm still trying to get rid of the gnats 3 months later. I will never purchase Members Mark soil again.

The potting soil is terrible. It had wood pieces in it, the fertilizer in the soil was very little. I had to supplement with liquid fertilizer. My pots especially didn't do well. The flowers did not grow like last year when I used Miracle Grow potting soil.Next year if Sam's does not carry Miracle Grow, will purchase somewhere else. This is the first negative review I have given a Members Mark brand.

Looks good but not great for transplants, I used this soil to repot seedlings up to 4" pots and it did not perform as well as Miracle Grow potting soil, I was trying to figure out why both vegetable and flower seedlings were not growing and once they were planted into larger pots and beds they took off. I could only determine it was the soil. I had potted seedlings from the same batch into other potting soil and they were healthier and the only variable was the potting soil. Maybe it was the batch I purchased...I would mix it with compost or somthing else before using it again.

Poor potting soil Miracle Gro potting soil is much better. I planted some peppers plants in Sam's Club soil mix plants are growing sadly. MiracleGro mix plants are growing vibrant healthy. As in the picture both plants were planted at the same time, the one in the left pot is Miracle Gro the one in the right Sam's Club potting soil. I used the two potting soil to see if Sam's Club was good as Miracle Gro.

I used this potting soil to repot multiple indoor plants I've had for some time. All of those plants about a week later released a strong army of fungus gnats. I've been indoor gardening for years and haven't had this issue in some time. It was clear that the soil I had replaced was the source as I watched them emerge. I think outside this soil is fine but be insanely careful if you use it indoors. It says it's for indoor or outdoor, but I guess i was fooled.

If I could rate this soil a -10 I would. Worst soil ever! Dirt is moldy, very dry and has a bad smell. ALL of my plants in ALL of the pots I planted have died! These plants were bought at different greenhouses. Same plants I buy every year and get great results when I use Miracle Grow Moisture soil. I bought the Sams brand after reading the positive reviews. Sorry I wasted my money.

Product was full of bark and larger debris making it difficult to use. I believe the bags I bought were infected with tiny bugs. Within days of transplanting seedlings and plants leaves all had tiny holes and tiny bugs buzzing around. I had to spray an insecticide to clear the issue. None of the pots where I used a bag of Miracle Grow had this issue.

This is the worst soil I have ever purchased. If I could give it zero stars I would so don't waste your money!! I purchased 12 bags of this for numerous pots I plant for vegetables and flowers every year since Sam's no longer carries the MiracleGro potting soil. The soil contains a lot of sticks and large chunks of bark with very little perlite. The soil in some bags was white as if it was old and moldy. I decided to use the soil as I wasn't going to go through the hassle of returning it all but I wish I didn't. My plants are not growing well at all and it's been over two months. My plants would normally be huge and beautiful by the time of year for the past 10 years but not this year. This would is just awful and I will never buy it again. Buyer beware!!

I have been a Sam's member for 31 years. I appreciate that they sell good products at a good price. This is not one of them. Very woody. Practically mulch. Things grow sort of OK in it but definitely not great. It certainly doesn't look like soil. Telling me it's "soil less" isn't something I care about. I will not buy this item again! They used to sell Miracle Gro potting mix that was much much better. It was what I wanted this year but it was not offered. Bring back the Miracle Gro product!

I purchased two bags a couple weeks ago and the soil was mostly wood shavings with very little peat and soil. I purchased another bag more recently and it's back to normal I do really like this soil but the consistency or quality control may have issues.
