The bags were open and the flour was out in the box

This is great flour and a great price. I use it for sourdough and other yeasted breads and never get a negative result (at least not due to the flour…). I also really appreciate that KA is non-bromated! As far as Wal-Mart, it’s great that they carry both 5 %26 10lb bags. I’ve not had any issues with bugs or stale flour. Best price for King Arthur that I’ve found, comparable even to Costco.

Both bags of flour were opened, and spilled flour all over the box.They were not enclosed in a plastic bag, and the inflated string of insulation type bags were just pilled on top. The flour is unusable and I do not recommend ordering it from Sam’s Club,

I love the flour, but the packing and shipping is terrible. The flour came in a oversized box with no packing filler at all. One of the bags busted open and spilled all in the box. There was even flour on my porch from where the delivery driver set it down. This is not the first time I have had damaged product delivered from Sam's because of poor packing!!!!!!

I have used this flour for nearly a year in my micro-bakery with great success. I was so excited to find it available through Sam's at such a great price! However, to date I have received 15 of these 10 lb bags over three different shipments, and none of them are usable. There is a serious issue in the warehouse with storage and packaging for this item. So far I have discovered the following issues that I have never experienced with other suppliers: 1. Six of the 15 bags have broken open during shipping due to lack of protective packaging. Yes, King Arthur could do a better job with their packaging, but 10 lbs of flour bouncing around in a box twice its size with no packaging material will never arrive intact. 2. 8 of the first 10 bags contained hardened pieces of flour that looked like stones. Not more than 2 cups worth in any one bag, but some pieces larger than an inch in size. 3. Three bags so far have had mold/mildew inside the bag and on the hardened pieces that were against this bag. This solves the issue of why the flour hardened - it has obviously been wet at some point. 4. The first order took 4 days to arrive, so I placed the second order a day earlier and received it two days later than the first. Very inconsistent. This item is not returnable, so my next step is to contact customer service.

Best flour for baking any type of bread but I used it for my sourdough. It has a guaranteed higher protein content than any other on the market and I love the company because it is employee owned and uses environmentally friendly techniques. It is slightly higher in price than other brands but the end product out weighs this feature consistently.

Great Flour for my sourdough!

I bought to bake sourdough bread and works well. My sourdough bread is delicious and I haven't had a fail yet. I think strongly due to this choice of flour and its properties.
