While the hot water feature is great making coffee using grounds results in a lukewarm cup or carafe. I have tried all the suggestions for brewing hotter but still no better. Plus when you spend this much on a coffee maker you shouldn't have to go thru extra steps just to get a hot cup of coffee!!!!!

I already had two great coffee makers and did not need a third. However, when I saw this one come out I really wanted to test it and compare to the others. Luckily, a friend purchased it and allowed me to borrow for a few days. I have really put this coffee maker to the test with various coffee styles, hot and iced tea, and even made instant soup, oatmeal and grits using the hot water feature. To make a long story short. The coffee has much better flavor than my old machines and is much more versatile. This could easily replace both of them. I think I need to upgrade and get one for myself. We bought this because I love Ninja products and we liked the idea of the built in frother. I've had some successes but my main challenge is I end up with coffee grounds all over the pot, brew basket, and in my coffee!! I've tried to buy beans and grind them very coarse, which works most of the time. I've wasted so many pots of coffee. I've tried pods and the same thing happens. Yes, I'm using a paper filter and it's the right size. I'm using the right amount of coffee grounds. Please help. Needing caffeine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best feature is that the coffee pot is much sturdier than cheaper models which to me is a safety feature as it is less looking likely to break when it is being washed out. All of part works fine. Switches, dials, and indicator lights have the look and feel of quality. Stainless is staying stain-free. It is very easy to switch from pot brewing to kcup brewing. I think my favorite added feature is the hot water feature. This alleviates the need for me to have a kettle on the counter alongside my coffee maker, freeing up much-needed counter space. I also love that this is a more compact model than the other Ninja all-in-one model that I previously had.
