The small brush that you can press down (and one thing I was looking forward to) is to be honest useless. It does not really provide any difference in the cleaning process - although it sounded like a great concept. The steamer itself is good until the cloth gets too wet and then it is just water. I love the long cord that it comes with and the size of the water receptacle as it allows to clean a bigger surface than my previous one.

It does an effective job of cleaning. I have only used the new mop twice, but I had the same model for about four years, before it just died. Previous to that I had a different Hoover steam mop, but it lasted only a year before mineral build up killed it. Since that time I have always used distilled water in it. The new one appears to be exactly the same as the previous one, with the same drawbacks: finicky (sticks easily during a pivot, if not just at the angle it likes), water container cap is substandard (not robust enough and washer is finicky --- one on previous model cracked about 1 1/2 years in and I had to glue it together to avoid w...

Wet Swiffers only take care of part of the issue when cleaning - they don't disinfect. We have 2 large dogs and this mop cleans well, makes the house smell great (I used the Citrus Water) and does not streak the wood or tile floors - which a Wet Swiffer WILL do. I am so happy with the product and so glad I bought one for our home!

I like that the water tank holds enough water so that it does not require a refill mid-job. The terrycloth mop pad is a little difficult to wrap around the mop head. Other steam cleaners have a velcro easy touch placement. I do think this will get easier with use. Be sure to use distilled water every time. Wash the mop pad before first use. I read that after I used it, but no harm done. This machine works very well. I just got it and only used it twice.
