I have had 3 Bissell steam mops. The first I owned over 15 years ago, was a yellow one and it worked for years. It was the best. So when it broke down, I didn't hesitate to buy Bissell again, that one lasted maybe a year and stopped steaming. I was beyond disappointed. Then I replaced it with this power fresh steam mop and purchased extra pads ect. This one lasted less then 6 months. Steam would only come out sporadically and then it stopped all together and would just dump puddles of water on my floor. I only used distilled water in all of my machines, so the line about minerals doesn't apply to the Why Does My Steam Mop Keep Breaking. I think it is how these machines are manufactured not always customer error. Maybe Bissell should start to make a quality steam mop again or stop making them all together, for $200 that is just too much to waste money on. These mops seem great until there not.

I've owned two other steam mops before buying this one and didn't like them at all. I can't say enough good things about this product. It is light weight, easy to use, quiet, easy to clean and does a great job! I never thought I would look forward to cleaning my hardwood floors. After using this steam mop, they look brand new! I have two chihuahuas so I clean the floors everyday. Dragging around a bucket and mop is no fun anymore at my age so I decided I was going to try the PowerFresh Steam mop. What a great cleaning tool! I can clean the kitchen and all three bathroom floors every morning in less than 20 minutes and everything really smells clean. No detergents anymore! After having the steam mop for a week, I decided to try it on the finished wooden floors. It removed all the old residue from the detergents and made the floors squeaky clean! The PowerFresh 1940 steam mop is definitely worth every penny! It makes my life a lot easier and the floors have never been cleaner!!!

After two back surgeries scrubbing the floors in my home became an all day job and one I paid for two days after. No, longer able to hand scrub and dry, I went to a standard mop. My floors never seemed as clean and went longer between cleanings, because it had become such a painful chore. NO MORE!! and I will never be without this product in my home. I can't rave about this steam cleaner enough and I am thrilled to have taken back my standard of clean in my home.

The Bissell steam mop has been a pleasant surprise to both me and my wife. As one who has cleaned floors on his hands and knees, this is heaven sent. We have used it for three months now with no problems. It does make a ticking sound the whole time we are using it but it doesn't seem to be affected in a negative way by it. Having a two year warranty makes me feel that Bissell has confidence in this product. I have other Bissell products that have seen much use with little or no issue. We vacuum the hard floors before using this and notice that the pads have become very dingy looking and look hammered even after washing them. I'm sure they are clean but aesthetically they don't look the best. This is a minor complaint that really doesn't matter with an overall well engineered machine. We have used steam mops from other manufacturers and they do not hold a candle to Bissell. You do have to expend a little energy to use this but no more than vacuuming . It does get under overhangs and around the toilet with no problem. Thank you Bissell!

This steamer did a great job but was very hard to glide on our old floors, so hard that the mob head wouldn't stay on in the front so I had to go backwards only when cleaning. Very happy with the end results just not as easy as I thought it would be. I believe it is the floor not the machine that is the problem,

I tried the PowerFresh for the first time today -- on a vinyl floor( highest steam level) & a hardwood floor (lowest steam level). I couldn't believe how well it cleaned, without any cleanser even! I had a buildup of hairspray on the vinyl floor. Normally it's several moppings, over and over, to dissolve the hair spray. It took it immediately, first time over! Amazing!! I did have to go around the edges and wipe up the crud that got pushed around - but that's nothing compared to how long & how much work it used to take to clean these floors. Awesome!! So glad my friend told me about such a product -- never even heard of one before!

We were about to hire someone to steam clean our entire home, almost 2,000 Sq ft of tile for around $700+. I ordered this steam mop and did our floors in 1 full day, including moving furniture and area rugs. The cleanest they've been since home was built. This is a very good value for those who like to live debt free.

I love how easy this mop is to use! It's very lightweight and doesn't require any backbreaking scrubbing to get stuck-on spots off the floor. The power fresh discs smell wonderful too. The discs have the option of placing an entire disc or half a disc in the mop cover depending on how much "scent" you want. The only reason I only gave 4 stars was because there isn't an on/off switch. Plugging it in and unplugging it is the only way to completly turn it off/on. The buttons on the front allow you to pick how much steam you want. I have 3 dogs and a toddler and my tile floors have never been this clean!

This mop has made cleaning easy and dare I say enjoyable. It heats up quickly and gets the tough dirt and grime off my tile floors. Having two small boys and pets this mop is a breeze to pull out and go. I love the fresh discs and find that a quarter of the disc freshens the house perfectly. I tried a half disc and the scent was a bit too powerful.
