Having an African Grey Parrot I am aware of the feather dust emitted and their poor-sloppy eating habits which may be good for the forests but not city living. Therefore, the need for a clean modern environment. Since African Greys can live 58-85 years, a clean environment can be achieved by this Bissell Power Fresh Steam Mop 1940A. It is a machine that any pet owner should welcome in their home without pets and humans to the use of harmful chemicals.

I love this mop! It truly does what it says! it cleans so well, and so easy to use, BUT, I had it for a yr and 2 mos and now it will no longer steam. UGH. I tried all the suggestions online. she's dead! so bummed. Can't afford to buy a new one every yr

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this steamer Cleans my tile and hardwood floors better than anything else I've tried in the past I use it at least once a month and it still cleans like it's brand new (it is at least 2 years old maybe 3) Plus I also use it to steam clean my area rugs and it does a great job on those as well I have a smaller home---under 1500 sq ft---so if you have a larger home you may want to get a bigger model but either way this little gem does an outstanding job!

This product works well, HOWEVER, when I first turned it on, it was standing on my hardwood floor (original hardwood - approx. 50 years old). Within seconds, I saw steam coming from the bottom. I thought "Yeah! Its working!" but when I lifted the mop, I saw it had lifted/bubbled the surface of the floor! I re-read the instructions and NO WHERE does it caution about this. I emailed Bissell about this, but their only concern was negotiating compensation, which wasn't my concern. I wanted them to warn people about this.

I have used 2 Haan steamers prior to my purchase of the Power Fresh Steam Mop and this steamer far surpasses the Haan. It has a swivel head getting to more/tighter places, has gotten more marks off the floor, has a longer cord allowing for less un/plugging, and comes with the optional discs/liquid to make your home smell good while cleaning. After using both, I prefer the discs~ I really cannot smell the liquid at all, but the discs (I only use half a one each cleaning) smell very nice. The only minor issue is the difficulty at getting the water tank out of its holder~ can be a bit frustrating at times but nothing major. I have recommended this steam mop to many family members, with two already purchasing/enjoying the ease of use and cleaning. Highly recommended steam mop~

I have purchased TWO of these machines and within 4 months both machines stopped sending out steam and just poured hot water out of the back! I used only distilled water and used the machine on my tile floor. I only used the first one for 5 months and the second one for 4 months. Horrible quality and I will never purchase another Bissell product. Save yourself some money and DO NOT BUY ONE!

When I tried my new steam mop I was very impressed. It seemed to be more solidly built than the one I have been using. I like the fact that you can change the amount of steam. It allows you to use it in various conditions. The mop heads are able to get in small groves better than a smooth head and I like the scrubbing feature on the back of the head. This helps you scrub off hard to remove material. I like the Power-fresh Steam Mop and would recommend it to others.

We have only hard floors in our house, including porcelain tile and 65 year old oak flooring. I was very dissatisfied with the squirt and mop approach suggested by the floor refinishers - the oak floors were just not clean. (We have dogs, big ones.) A friend was using a steam mop on her wooden floors and liked it. I researched a few products and bought the Power Fresh mop 4 months ago. It's great, that's all I can say. Easy to use, no chemicals and the floors are actually clean now. They just look much better. I am very satisfied with this product.

I JUST RECEIVED POWER FRESH STEAM MOP LAST WEEK. I USE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS WEEK END. I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES IT TOOK AWAY ALL OF THE DIRT AND MORE! I HAVE BEEN USING SWIFFER WET JET FRO ABOUT A YEAR AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ITEM AS THE HANDLER BROKE. ALL IT DID WAS PUSH ALL OF THE DIRT IN THE CORNER AND SIDE OF THE WALL. POWER FRESH STEAM MOP REMOVE ALL OF THE DIRT IN THE CORNER AND SIDE. IT DONE WHAT SWIFFER JET MOP COULDN'T DO! AFTER USING POWER FRESH STEAM MOP FOR THE FIRST TIME MY FLOOR LOOK GREAT LIKE NEW! ONLY THING I WISH IT HAD A SHUT OFF SWITCH ON THE HANDLE AND A LONGER CORD LIKE 30 FOOT. OTHER WISE I'M VERY PLEASE AND WOULD BUY OTHER ONE WHEN THIS ONE WEAR OUT (HOPE NOT SOON) THANK YOU BISSELL SAM

I was using a swiffer wet jet to clean my wood floors, and they never seemed clean afterwards. I purchased this mop, and wow!!! It cleans my floors so much better. As an experiment I used the swiffer and then went over it with the steam mop and the mop cloth was brown after just cleaning it. I love it!!
