Best investment ever

I have been wanting a steam mop for a while, but I knew they can be pricey,so I was holding on,but recently I decided it's time,so I started my research and this Bissell 1940 came on top, what really sold me was people's review on how quickly and effectively it cleans dogs drool, which I needed because I have 2 drooly dogs, and it's affordable,so I took the iaunch, and I am thrilled I did,I love the way the steam lifts the dry drool from my tile floor, without much effort,I had to scrub with my regular mop,to remove it.Im excited to clean my floors again, whereas before it was a dreaded chore. As of now I am very happy with my investment, thank you for making a great product.

Best mop ever!!

I love clean floors, but absolutely hated mopping. Now I can honestly say that mopping is a piece of cake with this steam mop. It is quick and easy to use, and leaves my floors amazingly clean...in fact, they've never been cleaner. I will never go back to a traditional mop again!

Broke after 9 months, loved it until then

I barely had this for 9 months until the cap broke that covers the water. It cracked right where the seal is. It leaked water all over and caused rust in the lower part of the unit. I loved this steam mop until this happened. I recommended this to all my family and friends and regret doing so now. The cap is faulty which ruined the whole unit that I can no longer use.

I love it for my tile but not my laminate.

My sister gave me the Bissell Powerfresh steam mop as a Xmas present in 2014. I have used it on my laminate flooring probably 20 times and I've made sure I did the following: 1. I've always used Distilled water. 2. I didn't concentrate on one spot. 3. I always moved at a fast pace while on my laminate flooring. Now, my floor is buckling in spots as if it's been mopped with a soaking wet mop over time.. I don't think your company should say that this particular item is safe to use on laminate flooring.

Too hard to push this product

This product does a great job beautiful floors everything is fantastic my entire house is vinyl floors but it only does a great job if someone else is using it. I have problems in my back and shoulders and hands. I cannot push the handle, with the floor mop back and forth which is needed there is too much resistance with the Steam wet pads please let me know if I should be some doing something else to ease this problem or I'm going to have to send it back

Sorry to hear you're having some trouble pushing the mop! One certain surfaces the resistance could be greater than on others. A machine like our CrossWave may be better for your needs as there's no resistance to pushing in on hard floors. I love my steam mop on my laminate floors, but.....

Love it on my laminate floors, but I have a small area of hardwood and when I used it, the next day I saw it left a small white streak. :( I've heard this is a problem for a few others on here and you mentioned to use water and vinegar. What kind of vinegar should i use? And I have one more minor issue. After using it, my mop pad was filthy (which is good#, but when i washed it on the gentle cycle with laundry detergent #not bleach), I noticed it didn't really get the dirt out really well. I know there's nothing wrong with my washer? Do I need to let it soak in hot water/detergent 1st before I put in washer? Please help!

Thank you for your review. You can just use distilled vinegar. The mop pads should only be washed in mild soap like you did with no harsh detergents. If you have a cycle on your washing machine for soaking; this may give you a better cleaning with the mop pads.

Lifted my laminate floor

I would not recommend this product for Laminate flooring. I was excited to use this product after reading the reviews. I used it as soon as I my steam mop arrived. I live in an apartment with laminate floors. I tested all 3 steam levels in different sections and my first disappointment was the level of steam. My mop never got "hot" as others described, it was just warm. After mopping and allowing the floors to dry, I almost had a heart attack when I saw a laminate panel completely lifted from one side. This was the section where I used the highest steam level. Then I checked on my other 2 sections where I used the lowest and medium steam levels and again, there was a lifted panel in both sections. I then read this about laminate floors "A drawback to laminated floors in terms of their durability is the fact that they can easily be damaged by exposure to too much steam or water. "

First time steam mop buyer

First time owning a steam mop. Purchased it because our big kitchen & entrance way has multiple grout lines, not your typical straight grout lines & wet mops just weren't getting them as clean as I want. After 2 times of using, the steam level button sporadically doesn't work. I have to unplug it then it's fine? Not sure why this happens but for the price I can't complain. I like the fragrant disc but they are only good for 1 use so I purchased the fragrant water. I'm a little disappointed in the water as I do not feel that it is as strong of a scent as the disc.

Very pleased!

I bought based on recommendation from a friend on FB. So easy to assemble and does a great job, just with hot steamed water! Simple to use, easily maneuverable in corners and around furniture, pad is easy to put on/off. Love the scented disc. Using just half so far. Great fresh smell in my kitchen and bathroom. Plan to use on dining room wood floor next. The water container is easy to remove and insert. Great product!!!

A solid product

When I tried my new steam mop I was very impressed. It seemed to be more solidly built than the one I have been using. I like the fact that you can change the amount of steam. It allows you to use it in various conditions. The mop heads are able to get in small groves better than a smooth head and I like the scrubbing feature on the back of the head. This helps you scrub off hard to remove material. I like the Power-fresh Steam Mop and would recommend it to others.
