Among the stupidest design in steam mops

Leaves the floor soaking wet, a major slip hazard, and streaks horribly. The pad isn't held in firm contact with the floor surface. Steam condenses back into liquid very quickly in the ridiculous chambers on the underside of the machine head (microfiber mounting plate). The floor looks similar to any mopped floor after the unit passes over it. Stupid design. Microfiber won't clean at all if it isn't healed uniformly against the surface to be cleaned. This machine can create significant damaged to engineered wood floors due to the fact that most of what is dispensed is merely hot water, not steam.

Thanks for the feedback regarding your steam mop! If you're experiencing too much water on your floors you may want to try the vacuum on it's lowest steam setting or it may be time to swap out the wet pad for a dry pad. We hope this helps!

Very durable and well engineered product.

Easy to use and very durable. We are just about five years into ownership of this steam cleaner. Even though the mop head covers discolor, they also have not deteriorated any further and clean just as they did when new. This is one heck of a cleaner. If you are on the fence about this, just buy it!

Good while it lasted...

I had this steam mop 15 months and really liked it. Then a few days ago it stopped producing as much steam as it usually did. I called customer service but none of the trouble shooting solved the issue. Just past the 1 year warranty(of course). I don't expect products to last forever but barely making it past the 1 year warranty is not acceptable from a "trusted brand" such as this. CS sent me a 10% off code towards another purchase. Really? That barely covers sales tax! I am replacing with another brand and hoping for better luck.

Love This Steamer

I love the way this steamer cleans! It does an excellent job and the discs that you use in the pad really makes the floors smell clean and fresh. The only reason I did not give it an excellent rating is because the pads that come with it (2) after washing and line drying shrink so much that it is very hard to get the pads back on the machine. I also have arthritis in my hand & fingers from a bad break and it makes it even more difficult. The machine does a fantastic job other than the pads! I would buy another one when needed.

Lifted my laminate floor

I would not recommend this product for Laminate flooring. I was excited to use this product after reading the reviews. I used it as soon as I my steam mop arrived. I live in an apartment with laminate floors. I tested all 3 steam levels in different sections and my first disappointment was the level of steam. My mop never got "hot" as others described, it was just warm. After mopping and allowing the floors to dry, I almost had a heart attack when I saw a laminate panel completely lifted from one side. This was the section where I used the highest steam level. Then I checked on my other 2 sections where I used the lowest and medium steam levels and again, there was a lifted panel in both sections. I then read this about laminate floors "A drawback to laminated floors in terms of their durability is the fact that they can easily be damaged by exposure to too much steam or water. "

First time steam mop buyer

First time owning a steam mop. Purchased it because our big kitchen & entrance way has multiple grout lines, not your typical straight grout lines & wet mops just weren't getting them as clean as I want. After 2 times of using, the steam level button sporadically doesn't work. I have to unplug it then it's fine? Not sure why this happens but for the price I can't complain. I like the fragrant disc but they are only good for 1 use so I purchased the fragrant water. I'm a little disappointed in the water as I do not feel that it is as strong of a scent as the disc.

Love, Love, Love

This steam mop is great! I have smooth tile floors and there are no streaks. Will never use a mop again. I will be buying another one for my daughter. Would definitely recommend this product good price, works great. Could use a steam burst button but still works great without it.

Ok for very light floor cleaning

Cleans okay. It does better on smooth surface. my tile that looks like wood has thin veins for trexture. The steam doesn't penetrate no matter how slow I mop or let the mop sit. The black nozzle cap easily break off. Be careful not to over tighten the cap. There is no off switch. This means I have to walk through wet floor to unplug or keep moving the plug so I don't have to walk on wet flooring.

I am not very happy with the results

I have shiney white tile floors in my whole downstairs and I was looking forward to have shiney Clean floors. Well the steam mop cleaned them but left lots of water streaks everywhere. So much for the shiney floors. My previous steam mop worked beautifully, but had stopped working, so I really was hoping the bissell would work for me. I am taking it back to the store!

Thanks for the feedback. Allowing the machine to linger a second or two too long can leave a milky spot/streak on waxed floors. This can be removed with vinegar and water applied directly on your floor. However, we don't recommend using it in the machine. We hope this helps!

Works great when parts don't break (water cap breaks often)

Water tank cap broke off into where it attaches into mop. No way to get it out, so the mop is useless now due to a cheap part that cannot be removed. Buying a new cap is useless because the old broken piece is stuck in the mop, not the tank. Now am reading that this has been a known issue for a while & Bissell will not remedy. For that reason will NEVER purchase a Bissell product again.

Sorry to see this, Michelle! You should be able to get the cap out without issue using pliers or large tweezers. Give us a call and we'd be happy to send a new cap and insert for your machine. 1-800-237-7691.
