I love this machine. I have tried several and while they clean okay, this one cleans better. AND the others I've tried took me four (4) tries to get done - 1 to clean, 2 to clean again, 3 to clean with vinegar and one to dry with towels. With this machine, I clean one time, give it 10 minutes or so to dry and it is gorgeous!

Hated cleaning my laminate floors but now it is fast and easy. I have four kids and used to have to scrub all the hard spots before using my swiffer that would get so dirty it would eventually just spread the dirt on the pad around the floor. My floors didn't get really clean unless I hand scrubbed them but now it is quick an easy. My 1 year old exploded a can of soda everywhere and in a few minutes the sticky mess was taken care of. It is easy to use and does a great job. I highly recommend it!

Ive had this steam mop for about a year now, the first 2 or 3 cleans it worked great. I was really impressed. Now my machine just makes this constant knocking noise and doesn't create steam. I did some research and found that I may need a new cap. But they are sold out! Seems like this is a cheaply made machine that quite a few people need to replace the cap so much that they cant keep them in stock. Time to shop for another brand!

I did love this steam mop until I went to use it and it was not working. Unit stopped producing steam but still heats up which could be a fire hazard. We tried all the troubleshooting recommendations on the website but nothing worked. Very disappointed considering we barely used this unit as we normally have a cleaner who uses her own mop. It's products like these that fill up our landfills. Very disappointed

Love my little steamer, purchased some extra covers and that really helps to clean my whole house in a relatively short period of time. When you fill it with water, it runs for a long time before you need to refill and that is with using heavy steam. It does a good job of cleaning my tile floors.

I have had steam mops before.....but this one actually works. It removes a lot of dirt from floor when a person has a big black lab ...... lumbering all over your floors. Currently, I am using this device for my kitchen porcelien flooring. Words like a charm. I love it. I highly recommend to anyone needing a product like this.

The title of the review says it all. I got this for Christmas this year and have used it 3x so far. Partly b/c I just had major abdominal surgery 2 weeks before Christmas and needed to take it easy and partly b/c I didn't realize we had THAT much buildup on our floors! This works superb on those areas, especially! I'm talking grease/dirt/grime/dog/cat hair, you name it, etc. buildup. The kind that gets into corners and you THINK your floor is clean until you use a product like this! Now I will say it does take awhile to get these areas clean b/c you have to leave the steamer on it for 10-15 seconds and then immediately lean over and pick it up with a towel or paper towel, but once those buildup areas ARE clean, you don't have to spend that kind of time each time you mop. The only thing I was NOT impressed with were the little scented discs. I don't think they did a thing to make my house smell any better and I don't plan on purchasing any more of them. I threw mine away after the first use b/c it just looked nasty and it didn't really smell nice any longer. I use this mop on the number 2 setting for our real hardwood floors and on the highest setting for the kitchen tile floor. That tile is much older and looks grimier than it really is. I haven't had a chance to work with it in the kitchen too much but have high hopes this will bring the tile back to life, at least a little bit. I'd highly recommend purchasing this steam mop. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Easy to assemble (2 minutes!) and heats up super fast (30 seconds) even when you refill the water reservoir! It's easy to manouever, refill and use, all the way around. I sure hope it holds up and I don't have to come back and remove this review!

This is my second one. Foolishly I bought another one when the first one quit after I'd had it about year. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but now the second one isn't producing any steam!! They work great for the first few months, but they don't last. Extremely disappointed!!!

I have 3 little dogs that I adopted from abusive conditions. They weren't housebroken at the time I took them in. While they are all making great progress, there are still the occasional "accidents". It's important to sanitize the floors and remove any scent so that my dogs will be discouraged from using the areas again. I had been using another appliance which required using chemicals that I didn't realize contained ammonia. Urine contains ammonia. I learned from an animal behavior specialist to NEVER use ammonia products to clean floors in homes where dogs live. My entire house is porcelain tile, the ammonia scent was in all of the grout. You can imagine how confusing that was for my dogs. (wasn't fun for me, either) This steam mop is lightweight, easy to use, and a great value.It stands upright on it's own, heats quickly, & gets hot enough to kill most bacteria, (& smells) & cleans without the use of expensive chemicals. The reusable pads wash easily. It also has a removable tank that holds enough water so it doesn't have to be refilled so often as to being annoying. I think the only con would be a small, easily changed, design flaw. The tank has to be turned upside down to fill and because of it's shape, it doesn't sit flat. I have to prop it in my dish drainer, so I can use both hands to hold a gallon jug of distilled water to fill it. Over all, I'm very pleased & would recommend the Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop Hard Floor Cleaner 1940 to anyone.

I just literally picked this unit up 2 hours ago on September 15, 2016 around 6:30 PM. I recently moved into an apartment with light colored hardwood floor and it looked great on day one until that is after about 2 months later the light colored wood now had a shade of dark brown (bacteria) disgusting. Long story short, this Bissell 1940w really cleaned my wood just after one pass, YES i said one pass. After reading all the reviews I finally chose the Bissell over the shark; and I made the right choice! I'm very picky in the performance of products I choose, and I can with confidence recommend this product to anyone. Matter of fact I advise you to buy it and try it, you won't be disappointed. Oh and good build quality as well, the plastic is pretty sturdy.
