Had this Model 1940 for approx. two years. Approx. 6-months ago would plug steam cleaner up and the blue light would flash but when it quit flashing and I tried to get 'steam' it did nothing. If I turned it off and back on several times; as a rule it would finally start working. Now the lights come on, but that is it. Had it plugged up yesterday for three hours (blue lights yes... steam -- NO!! Today have it plugged in,, top blue light is coming on, when you push the blue light for steam.... nothing!!............ Guess I will have to buy another steam cleaner..... but Bissell will be my last choice.

This so call steam mop took the shine off of my hardwood floors. This is the "WORST". When I would try and move it across the floor, it wouldn't move. It was so hard to do so. What a waste of money. I will probably throw it out or give it away. You know this mop is no good.

For the past 5 years I have used a Shark steam mop. My 3rd one finally died and I read the reviews for this Bissell 1940 and decided to give it a try. I will NEVER go back to a Shark steam mop again! I love all the features of my Bissell, the carpet glider has helped sanitize my carpet after a family round of the flu hit this past spring. I would love to have a handheld steamer by Bissell because I am sure it would surpass any others on the market. The warranty on this mop is phenomenonal and it proves Bissell stands by their products. The handle on this mop is great for taller people, you don't have to bend over to mop. I highly recommend this steam mop over any other brand out there!

Got my first steam mop ever. I have had Bissell sweepers for many years and this is as good as they are. I used it for the first time last weekend and was impressed with how well it cleans without soap. My husband has severe COPD and this is wonderful - no smells or scents to bother him - and my floors were spotless and dry in minutes. I would recommend this to anyone who has a breathing problem (and to anyone who wants a clean foor in a hurry.

Used my new Bissell Powerfresh steam mop for the first time on my tile floor. It was easy to assemble and an absolute pleasure to use. It did a great job cleaning, even those protein stains from my pets' eye goobers. Even steamed out some old grout stains.

This steam mop has changed the way I clean! In a household with 3 young sons, keeping the bathrooms clean is a full time job. This mop has cut my cleaning time in half and I feel it does a much better job than the traditional mop and bucket. So very pleased with my new mop.

I love it for cleaning my tile floor (entire first floor). It doesn't clean the grout- it can't reach the grout, but it does a great job on the tile. My first bissell was replaced when it would not heat up after about a month. Fill out your warranty card :) If there is a problem it will pay off.

I love this steam mop. I have been using Shark for about two years, and I much prefer the Bissell steam mop. The steam is more evenly distributed and it's easier to push. I love the disks; it makes the room smell so fresh. I would like a longer power cord though and an on/off switch, but otherwise, it's great.

I just literally picked this unit up 2 hours ago on September 15, 2016 around 6:30 PM. I recently moved into an apartment with light colored hardwood floor and it looked great on day one until that is after about 2 months later the light colored wood now had a shade of dark brown (bacteria) disgusting. Long story short, this Bissell 1940w really cleaned my wood just after one pass, YES i said one pass. After reading all the reviews I finally chose the Bissell over the shark; and I made the right choice! I'm very picky in the performance of products I choose, and I can with confidence recommend this product to anyone. Matter of fact I advise you to buy it and try it, you won't be disappointed. Oh and good build quality as well, the plastic is pretty sturdy.

This steamer is excellent for anyone including disabled and elderly. At 84 years of age it was easy to use right away and was NOT too heavy or large. Also was able to do entire apartment with one container of water. Floors were clean and so much easier than a bucket and mop. A plus that it also sanitizers floors -- even in bath. Thank you Bissell.
