When it works, it cleans great! getting it to work is...

Ive had this steam mop for about a year now, the first 2 or 3 cleans it worked great. I was really impressed. Now my machine just makes this constant knocking noise and doesn't create steam. I did some research and found that I may need a new cap. But they are sold out! Seems like this is a cheaply made machine that quite a few people need to replace the cap so much that they cant keep them in stock. Time to shop for another brand!

Really like the mop!

I really like the mop however Bissell's parts support is not very good. I have had the mop for under 2 years and have had to replace the cap on the water reservoir 3 times. One time I had to pay for the part, other times they replaced it at no charge. One representative told me that they were aware of the design trouble however did not give me a solution as to keep it from happening again. My issue is not with the mop however with Bissell for not addressing the problem,

Failed within 3 weeks of purchase

Within three weeks of purchase and use, this vacuum/steamer could not keep up with our 15 x 22 kitchen floor. Steaming the floor after food prep and meals at the end of the day - this product failed. No longer putting out steam, the 'trigger' only works part of the time. So disappointed as the Vacuum store recommended. I have not even filled out the warranty card!! Purchased the 'pet clean up' as we now have a 2 year old living with us - constant clean up.

Sorry to hear it's stopped working, Cookie - When used as directed, it definitely should still be steaming. Give us a call and we'd be happy to help further. 1-800-237-7691.

Love this product, but doesn't last long

My rating is reflective of the fact that, I have now owned 2 of these machines, as they die out after only about a year of use. When it does work, it's a great machine. Gets nice and hot, love how well it cleans my tile floors from the messes that my kids make. I do wish I wasn't buying a new one every year, but it does work and easy to use.

Love, love, love my Bissel PowerFresh!

I had been looking at a steam mop for years and finally (based on reviews) purchased the Bissell PowerFresh Bundle. I can't believe I waited so long! It makes cleaning floors so much easier. My floors have never been so clean....and cleaning them has never been faster.

Great Steamer -- brings OLD vinyl floors back to life!

I received my product a little while ago, just never took the time to leave a review. Reading over a few of the ones listed I thought I'd put in mine so it may help out someone else. I had a Eureka Floor Steamer and it was pretty good -- took off the grime and such, then I got a shark floor steam (free w/a purchase# -- the Shark replaced the Eureka #yes really# it seemed to give off a better steam -- and it was lighter too --- WELL THEN...I saw the PowerFresh 1940 - compared it to the two I already had and was won over. Now the PowerFresh has replaced the Eureka and the Shark. I love this little machine. While the earlier two I had got the job started on my 15+ year old vinyl floor -- the PowerFresh came in and finished the job. Its lightweight and has 3 settings #which neither of my other machines had# The area it covers is wider and the pads #if you put them on correctly (start from the square end and pull to the rounded end -- tuck in the corners# stay put very nicely. I love the 3 steam settings -- on the old floors that highest level is the best for cutting through the buildup that occurs when floors have lost their protective layer #for lack of a better term#. I used the PowerFresh to clean the floor and then mopped with a refinisher product -- then two days later did a light PowerFresh mop over the floor again...when folks come over they ask WHEN DID YOU GET A NEW FLOOR? How about that...after 15+ years the old floor is getting compliments. It was a combination of the two products but the PowerFresh got the buildup and my floor looks great -- The only thing folks have to be careful not to go over the floor too many times when the steamer is on high -- your pad will get very wet and the floor will then be very wet...if the floor is extremely dirty you may need to do this #just be aware of the water -- the machine is not broken). I don't recommend using the steamer on high on NON sealed wood floors because of the possibility of the water...I also would be cautious of using it on even SEALED wood floors on high! If you're mindful of the temperature and only go over a few times it should work out just fine. MY ONLY CON: I wish these mops had ON/OFF switches -- the machine makes noises when the water tank is empty...then you have to pull the plug to have it go off. An on/off switch would be a great idea for ANY of these types of machines. I also recommend the Bissell Spot Clean 5207 - it wouldn't come up in the recommendation list. This little guy does a great job for quick messes. Its small and compact too!

What a joke

What a joke this thing is. Did not make it a full year until it stopped working. For something so simple all of a sudden water wouldn't pass through the machine. It's one and only purpose! Motor would click away for minutes and nothing would come out the other end. Save your money people. This is not worth $90, it doesn't even have an ON/ OFF switch! I will never buy Bissell again. Super simple one trick pony that did not perform. The quality is sad for a name brand as this..

Purged the other steammop--this one rocks!

The PowerFresh Steam Mop is the best thing to happen to me in this kitchen. The steam is far more effective than my previous one--so much that "the clean look" lasts much longer, because it's a deeper clean, even significantly more between the tiles. The mop pads are much more absorbent than the others, too, enough that it soaks up the soiled material and liquid (kitchen and bathrooms) and prevents a leftover sticky film. I like that the (distilled) water lasts a while in the tank. Another good feature is that the edges of the mop pad come up over the edge of the machine head so that it can be used to scrub around the very bottom base of a toilet and against the foot area of the fridge and oven. It's plenty light enough for my kids to use and is very easy on my back--no problem. Having the adjustable steam setting is important for preventing damage to the other types of flooring in our house. I was pleased enough with the steam mop that my mother-in-law plans to borrow it, so I was glad I purchased extra pads. The cleaning job is faster than before, without all the tough scrubbing, and I know that it's a deeper, truer clean. All of the features make this a bargain performer that will actually last.

This product cleaned the best of any steamers I've...

I haven't had this steamer very long and it was working fantastically but now I can feel that the water is heating but the water does not come out to steam the floor. Does anyone have any suggestions? I noticed that the store where I purchased it does not sell them any longer.

Great Product so far

Great steam mop so far. Works really well, especially along baseboards because the pad covers the crevice and lower part of the baseboards as well. Easy to operate. I have had two Shark steam mops before that were a lot harder to push around and both of them didn't last very long. Loving the Bissell, let's hope this one lasts.
