I've had the WM6998HBA for about 6 months now. Would I buy it again, probably not. Cleaning the machine of lint is high maintenance - you have to clean the filter in the top after every use, vacuum or wipe off lint from the front tub liner, and then remove a vent from the top once in a while with a screw driver, and wipe lint off the glass. Also, dry times are not accurate - it usually takes an extra 1 or 2 hours to dry, and I live in a very dry climate. I do love the convenience of the all in one, but I wouldn't recommend for more than a household of 2, otherwise laundry time is just too long.

I love the compact size of a washer/dryer combo, and better energy efficiency of front loading machines and the new LG heat pump technology. This Combo W/D works on a standard 120 volt outlet and the dryer is ventless - no gas hookup or ducting to worry about! It took just minutes to connect the water lines / drain pipe and it was ready to go (I used the installation service because I'm not handy). Amazing. The large digital display walks you through the startup and it's easy to figure out the wash cycles, temperature, etc. I washed a pretty full load that included heavier items like towels and sweatshirts and it was done in about 2 hours. The display gives the estimated time for the load to finish washing and drying, which was great, AND I didn't have to remember to come back and load the dryer. Even the heavier items were fluffy and dry. In terms of size, this could easily fit bulky bedding like a large comforter or heavy blanket. Really have to thank LG for this W/D Combo, they thought of everything!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great washer / dryer combo space saver and was super easy to install, did not require a dryer vent, a 220 electric line or gas hook up. And believe it or not it actually saves us time, we are a family of 5, in the past when my sons did their laundry they often forgot to put their clothes in the dryer which would delay doing laundry for the next person. Now we don't have this problem, they put their clothes in the washer / dryer, select the cycle and when it's done their clothes are washed, dried and the washer / dryer is ready for the next person.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit does an excellent job if used they way it is supposed to be used. It is great for a small family but not for a large family. Very nice to just load it, start it and leave. It will be done when you get back to it. Fits on a pedestal washer too which is nice. I combined mine with the pedestal and a full size dryer which gives me multiple options for any size load I have from 1 uniform shirt and pants to 10 large bath towels when using the full size dryer. No vent required is a big plus.

I was a little unsure about the idea of a combo washer/dryer but it has been amazing. It is extremely easy and intuitive to use. It is a huge improvement over our old front-loading washer, it stays dryer and as a result it is cleaner. The clothes smell better as a result. It is also wonderful because if you start a wash before leaving for work the clothes are dry when you get home (a huge improvement over our old only/not combo washer). We love the AI washer dryer mode which senses the load, calculates the necessary washing and drying time and then dispenses the appropriate amount of soap and fabric softener. We could not be happier with this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace the GE all in one. It’s got a more compact design than the bulky (and shaky) GE. The LG is quieter, more efficient lint filter, easier to use drain for maintenance, and dries well. I do miss the slightly damp feature on GE which left clothes feeling nice and silky after shaking out bc I think the LG can feel too dry at times and clothes feel a bit crunchy, but we prefer LG for ease of use and maintenance. Once, the hose wasn’t installed far enough down and it kept triggering a blocked drain error, that’s the only issue we have had.

Eight months later, and it is still one of our favorite appliances. Installation was a breeze! And now that we don't have to switch our clothes over to a separate dryer during every load, we have more time to focus on other things without having to worry about rushing back home or taking breaks to go move the clothes. We couldn't be happier with our purchase!

I was skeptical at first and actually didn’t want to learn a new appliance nor read a 59 page manual. Fear not my friends! It’s actually pretty easy to use! I was also skeptical when I saw that it had a run time of 3 hours to do both the washing and drying. After using it for a while now I realized it actually saves me time. I never was on top of the wash cycle with my old unit anyway and probably would not get to it when it was exactly done OR forget I had clothes that need to be switched to the dryer so I would have to re-wash the clothes. Now I can leave the house for work and it’s completely done by the time I get home. I’ve also used the wash only cycle to remove some clothes I wanted to air dry and continue with drying. But honestly I trust it now more to do both because the dryer is so gentle on my clothes. It doesn’t over dry them, nor shrink them. I do use the app it comes with to tell me when the cycle has finished and that’s a cool feature. It’s big enough to wash a fluffy comforter and it’s delicate enough to take care of a cashmere sweater (not drying of course). The other cool bit is the automatic detergent dispenser. You fill a chamber and you never need to think about it, at least for 30 some odd loads. My old machine had liquid soap all over it and I always managed to spill a bit of detergent in the fabric softer area. Not anymore! The machine itself is solid and extremely quiet. We live in a small brownstone and space and storage is always a problem. This machine works well in small spaces! We did purchase the storage drawer as an added accessory, and I recommend doing that. Keeps everything nice and tidy and raises the machine a bit. This appliance has totally changed the “dreaded doing laundry day”. Only if it could fold and put the clothes away! Bravo LG!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I heard that LG had combined a washer and dryer into a single unit, I was curious to see how both would perform together. I was also excited about the opportunity to reduce clutter from the laundry room. After several days of testing, I am extremely pleased with the results, and I will never go back to separate washer and dryer units again. First of all, there are plenty of wash and dry cycles to choose from, based on what you're cleaning, and whether you want to run a standard cycle, or use the AI sensing built into the unit. I love how AI and smart sensing detects and optimizes the fastest time to clean and dry each load. After several wash and dry cycles, the performance has been consistently great so far. Clothes smell clean and fresh when they come out, and smart drying has worked flawlessly so far (no damp or wet items have needed additional drying time). The AI combined wash/dry setting has been excellent, but individual wash cycles for delicates, permanent press, etc. have performed very well also. This unit will be a big time saver for me, because I no longer have to move heavy wet clothes / bedding / etc. from the washer to the dryer. I also don't have to deal with damp clothing left in the washer indefinitely while I run (and re-run) the dryer until the towels or jeans finally dry. I can plan my day without being tethered to the laundry room constantly. (Where was this years ago?) For the smart home fans, setup and integration with the LG ThinQ app was quick and easy. Removing the old washer and dryer from the laundry room allowed me to add more shelf space for folding and storage, while still decreasing the clutter in the room. The laundry room now looks much larger, and feels both more modern and more functional. 10/10!
