Bought this to replace a separate washer dryer unit. At first the novelty was great. This unit is compact, and seems to work ok, but then months down the line you start realizing the shortcomings. The dryer feature takes FOREVER to dry. In some cases it actually never dries a full load after 4-5 hours. Then the other downside is, this thing STINKS. The first few months it smelled great, then it started smelly skunky. I tried the tub steam feature, used various washer tabs that supposedly deep clean, but the smell doesn't go away. Buy only if you like stinky clothes that take forever to dry.

Being able to wash and dry everything in one spot is game changing for me. I've had the WM6998HBA for about 6 months now. Would I buy it again, probably not. Cleaning the machine of lint is high maintenance - you have to clean the filter in the top after every use, vacuum or wipe off lint from the front tub liner, and then remove a vent from the top once in a while with a screw driver, and wipe lint off the glass. Also, dry times are not accurate - it usually takes an extra 1 or 2 hours to dry, and I live in a very dry climate. I do love the convenience of the all in one, but I wouldn't recommend for more than a household of 2, otherwise laundry time is just too long.

I love the design and the combo spec that allows you to complete everything at once. It will wash and dry all at once, but one thing I do not like is that the dryer is super long. I usually do regular Washer/Dryer AI option which is the second main option, but the dryer takes about 3 hrs or long, so in total, it will take 4 hr and half. Also, after the dryer function, the rubber part of the machine has all the dust on it, meaning we would need to clean the parts (interior) every single time we load washer (or it will have all the dust in the washing cycle). Do not understand why it is not collecting the dust out to the dust bin. But i love the Thin Q app, where you can see the status of the load and even select options on the phone

The start it and forget it functionality of the washer and drier unit is the best part. Especially for someone like me who always forgets to transfer to the drier. After a long days, then soccer practice, and having to have a fresh uniform ready for the next day, I simply start a cycle at night. The next morning I find a perfectly washed and dried uniform. My wife loves that she can wash a load of kids’ clothes and leave for work. You don’t have to worry about transferring loads. The design of it all is pretty great too. It’s sleek, modern, simple, and easy to figure out with the built-in AI tech. The dial also makes it easy to use alongside the touch panel, so you get the settings for your wash just right. It's pretty quiet, it doesn't make much noise and overall dries well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These machines are not ready for production use yet. Amazing technology but really still need a lot more improvements before you can use them. There are 3 lint traps to clean, one of which you have to remove a rubber seal above a screw (obviously this was not intended to be needed by the customer on a regular basis). Even with all the cleaning of the lint traps which includes emptying water from the bottom, they still put out a tonne of lint down the drain. So much that our plumbing got jammed up! We are on septic and therefore we found out fairly quickly. I suspect people on sewers will not find out for a lot longer, but it's a ridiculous amount of lint that goes down the drain. If you have them delivered, I recommend washing some brand new towels in them. You will find that the lint trap in the bottom will get so clogged that it can't empty water from the drum. God forbid you have a laundry bucket setup- this will kill that in a hot minute.
