Super convenient combo!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this washer/dryer combo! Been using it for two weeks in my home and it's been a total game-changer. The 5.0 cubic feet is huge - I can wash my king comforter no problem, and regular loads fit tons of clothes. It's super quiet and my clothes come out really clean every time. The best part is how much space it saves - no more separate washer and dryer taking up room. The smart app is actually useful (unlike other appliances I've had), and I love getting notifications when my laundry is done. My energy bills have gone down too, which is a nice bonus! The controls are easy to figure out, and everything feels really well-made. Drying takes a bit longer than a regular dryer, but I just let it run overnight. Perfect for apartment living or anyone who wants to save space without sacrificing a great wash. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high-end all-in-one laundry solution. Five stars!

Couldn't be happier with LG Combo Washer/Dryer!

I bought the LG Mega Capacity Smart Wash Combo All-in-One Washer/Dryer in Black Steel and have been using it for more than two weeks. I couldn't be happier with this choice. It washes and drys beautifully and is easier on fabrics than previous washing machines. And all while being extremely quiet and energy efficient. It's wonderful to load the clothes, set the program and return to everything perfectly washed, dried and ready to fold. Brilliant!

This wash combo has become my whole personality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Completely obsessed with this product. We live in a tiny Brooklyn apartment with a toddler and this has been a complete lifesaver. Not only does it take up minimal space but there is no need to switch wet clothes from the washer to the dryer. Only complaint is sometimes it leaks a bit but overall could not be happier

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this washer dryer combo for 3 weeks now and yes there's a little more maintenance as far as wiping the gasket and filter after every cycle, but this combo really works for my life style. I like that all I have to do is put the clothes in and it dispenses the soap and softner as needed. The Ai wash is adapting well to the load size and adjusting the time cycle better. So far I'm impressed.

Best washer I've owned so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed a new washer and saw this new combo washer/dryer to be a very clever idea. It was priced on sale and I decided to give it a try. It's a beautiful washer and I was really impressed with the build quality, the inside of the door I believe is thick glass. It has some weight to it that kept it planted on the floor when spinning and is very silent. I mainly needed a new washer and it got my clothes cleaner than my old top load washer. I connected it to my LG Thinq app and realized it had so many more features and options. You fill its detergent and softener tanks and it atuomatically dispenses multiple loads without the hassle of filling up each load, so convenient. I still use my dryer on heavy laundry days but when I need one load done I just throw in a load and forget about it. Wash and dry in one cycle, AMAZING! I throw my daily sweat soaked workout clothes or kids swimsuits in an it washess and drys without remembering to load a dryer. They're already dry when i need them again. Basically throw it in and forget about it. If you use the dryer feature I suggest you use the fabric softener tank because you wont need to remember to put a dryer sheet in. Remember to clean out the top filter after each use and the bottom one monthly. I was thinking of buying a matching dryer to update the set but not really sure if I even need to, but it is convenient to have a dryer too when yo have a lot of loads of laundry to do in a day.

Hello, Kimberely! We’re excited to hear how much you’re enjoying your LG washer/dryer combo—from the sturdy build and quiet spin to the impressive cleaning power and the convenience of wash‑and‑dry‑in‑one. The automatic detergent and softener dispensing, along with the added features in the LG ThinQ app, really make this LG unit shine for busy days. It’s great knowing it handles everything from daily workout gear to kids’ swimsuits with ease, and your tips on filter care and using the fabric softener tank are incredibly helpful for other owners. Having the option to pair it with a separate dryer for heavy laundry days is a nice bonus, even if the combo already covers most of your needs! It has many features

We shopped around looking to replace my 30 year old washer. When we seen this washer/dryer combo, we were interested. It saves space in my utility room and I like the idea of not having to remember to put clothes in the dryer. This combo is quiet and saves on water. It even plays a tune to let you know the load is done.

We’re delighted to hear that the space saving design and quiet operation have impressed you and that you are enjoying the convenience of the automated cycle. It’s wonderful to know the upgrade from your previous unit has made such a positive difference for you. To keep your unit performing at its best you should regularly clean the drain pump filter located at the bottom front of the machine. Poor design

This product has a design flaw. It does not dry. It takes about 4 hours to do one load of laundry. I feel that if it had an outlet for the moisture it might dry faster. It does not have a steam feature, which doesn’t make sense as it is hooked to water. Overall I am not happy with this product

Hi, Sandy1of3. Even though the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG Ventless Washer/Dryer Combo LG WashCombo™ All-in-One 5.0 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity with Inverter HeatPump™, Model # WM6998HBA is hooked to water, the water is for the wash cycles, not the drying cycles. Heat pump dryers operate by recycling heated air within the dryer itself, eliminating the need for an outdoor venting system which is why it does not have steam cycles. They provide top-tier efficiency by recycling the heat used with each load, while extracting the moisture, and reusing the hot air for future cycles. The heat will dry the clothes in the drum before the hot air is filtered for lint, and then cooled down in an evaporator. Heat collected from the evaporation system is then transferred into the heat pump, reusing the energy to warm up the cool, dry air before sending it back into the drum. Heat pump dryers do not get as hot as traditional dryers, so it will likely take longer for each load to actually get dry, and because their drying air temperature is considerably lower than conventional dryers, the process will be much easier on your clothes. The advertised "Wash & Dry in 2 hours In This LG WashCombo™ All-in-One is based on independent testing in Wash+Dry cycle with Dryer on Energy Saver mode, 10 lb. DOE load (October 2023). Your cycle time may vary depending on load type/weight...^Ivan.

So far so good, we like it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed a new washer, as our old LG washer was giving up the ghost, it would consistently give the dreaded IE error, and would not finish a load. We’ve never had a dryer, so we’ve always either hung the wash out on the clothes line, or on the drying rack. Clothes and especially towels would end up a bit rough. But on vacation we stayed where they had washers and dryers, and my wife loved how soft things ended up. So when we got home and our washer refused to finish a load, I researched washers, but especially washer/dryer combos. It seemed that there were basically 3 or 4 manufacturers that made them, and they all use a small heat pump to dry the clothes. Reading reviews on numerous sites, it became apparent that there were issues with lint clogging up the condensers, and looking at the actual lint filters on each machine it was easy to see why. Most of them used a slide in, slide out filter that really did not completely block the passage of lint, letting lint get by the filter and clogging up the condenser fins. I saw some owners trying to use a rubber gasket around the filter to block the passage of lint, but with very limited success, and the gasket would quickly be damaged by the plastic filter sliding in and out on it, so it would likely lose its effectiveness. Others would have to call for an expensive service call to come and disassemble the top of the machine to get at the condenser to clean it. And the process of removing the lint from the condenser fins was a difficult job at best, involving taking much of the top of the machine apart to get at the fins, and then running the risk of damaging the fins in the process of removing the lint from them. None of these options are ideal. But the lint filter in the LG washer/dryer combo was different. Instead of a slide in, slide out rack, it has a 2 stage filter on the top of the machine that snaps in and out, with no spaces around it to allow lint to get around the filter, and end up clogging up the condenser fins. And the filter has 2 stages. The main filter that you pop out and clean after each wash, is the first line of defense, and the second stage is easy to keep an eye on, so you can snap that out to clean in case any lint gets by the main filter. Then between the filter and the condenser fins there is a small screen that you can pop out by removing one screw to remove it, then allowing easy access to vacuum off the condenser fins with a soft vacuuming brush to remove any possible lint that might conceivably get by the 2 filters. I think this is a much better lint filter system that the others. And that is why we bought the LG washer/dryer combo. So far it has worked very well. Yes, using it is a bit different than using a typical separate washer and dryer. We bought 6 wool dryer balls that help any dryer do better, including this one. We have found that it typically takes about 2 1/2 hours to do a wash and dry load, depending on what we are washing and drying. At first that sounds like a long time, but consider: that time involves washing and drying. I’m not sure how long washing and drying using 2 separate machines takes, as in the past, we’ve only used a washer, no dryer. But I’d be willing to guess that most separate washing, then switching the laundry to drying probably takes about the same amount of time as this one does, without our having to switch the laundry from one machine to the other. And as I said, using a washer/dryer combo machine is a bit different process than 2 separate stand alone machines. We were careful to read the user manual and follow LG’s guidance for what will work best. We use a small amount of HE liquid laundry detergent. We personally decided to not use the detergent dispenser, it’s just another thing we’d have to periodically clean, so we just place a small capful of detergent in each wash load. And because we have our own septic system, we don’t use bleach, and we don’t use dryer sheets. We use wool dryer balls to help the dryer do a good job. We separate our wash loads by type of laundry load. We clean the lint filter after each load. We leave the door open between loads to let it dry out and help prevent any mildew or musty smells. But that’s about it. It’s not difficult, it’s actually pretty easy, it’s maybe just different than what we might have been used to. But so far, we like it, my wife loves how soft everything comes out.

Sleek, polished, and next gen laundry unit!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impressive size and features for a wisher - dryer combo. Compact design makes it a great space saver and ventless drying is like sci-fi compared to the old dryers with lint filled vent tube. We have been using the combo for some months now and it's convenient to start and load and not worry about moving the clothes from washer to dryer. It took us a few loads to realize that the drain tube at the front bottom left needs to be drained periodically for the drying to work well. Overall, we are happy customers and have recommended to many of our friends (especially those in apartmeent or looking for an upstairs washer-dryer.
