Cool concept, damp-dry only, false advertisement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks cool and washes well, but drying is aweful. Between the cost (i.e. not cheap), a decent amount of 5 star reviews and TV marketing claim that it can do a load start to finish in under 2 hours, I was sold on it. I was a little surprised when the first small test load started with 4 hours to go, rather than the advertised 2 hours. I was more surprised after the 4 hours that the clothes were still damp. But I was astonished when a dry only cycle that was started before going to bed still told me I had 4 minutes to go in the morning...and the clothes were still damp. If you are OK with hanging every load for an hour or two to finish the drying, this unit might be fine. But for anyone who is used to a 'real' dryer, it is not. BTW...the all-in-one unit was returned for separate units (WM6700HBA and DLEX6700B), and they work great!

Many great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this maybe a month ago I am very happy with it. There are a couple of things I wish was on it. Sometimes I just like to air dry for freshness, and I haven’t figured out how to do that yet And I have a problem with it going off balance because my load isn’t big enough, but it’s just me. I love how I can put my quilts in there and they wash and dry in like an hour and 52 minutes. Sometimes it just takes longer to dry things. All in all, I am happy What?

Pretty good. Seems like the engineering was rushed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like being able to throw in a load and not have to switch the load to the dryer. However, the dryer doesn't always complete drying, and I have to run it longer. I'm not sure why it's not sensing the moisture, you'd think it could do that. I did figure out from the scattered and incomplete documentation that you can combine the reservoirs for detergent and softener into one large detergent reservoir. I never use softener, so that was great! The lint trap is a little wonky. The engineers really didn't figure that all the way out. The app tells me when the cycle is done, which is nice, but it says to open the door or remove the load immediately to avoid odors. I don't think this should be required.

Worth the upgrade!

We bought this unit because we live in a very small house and wanted the space savings. My wife had a combo w/d unit 10-15 years ago that didn’t work well and was hesitant to get another, but after seeing the advances to these units over the years we decided to try it. Plus this is a heat pump unit. It has been great so far. It’s cleans and dries your clothes just like it’s supposed to. The heat dryer is definitely a plus, you can tell it’s gentler on the clothes and much more energy efficient (not just blowing hot air outside). The unit is also SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than our prior stackable w/d which was only 4 years old. Super easy to use, and not that I wanted another app on my phone but it does work well with the app.

A great washer AND dryer!

We are *delighted* with this product! We have been using it for about 6 months and have had no problems. One caution: unlike single purpose machines it is important to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! Don’t overload and make sure to clean the filter on the top of the machine after every use. It can do sheets, towels and heavier items without a problem as long as you don’t overload. We are amazed at how effective the heat-pump drying cycle is: the clothes really are toasty warm when they come out! We would definitely buy this combo again. If you are tall the pedestal is a favor to your back. What a space-saver and no dryer vent needed!

Honesty is key

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this unit about two months ago. We overall enjoy the unit and it seems to function well. We do have two issues. One is with the dryer function. It doesn't always dry the loads 100% we have done small single item loads, full loads, and everything in between. It has about a 95% chance of drying completely the first time. I know the problem isn't caused by water or power supply and definitely not drainage related as I keep up on cleaning it out due to the amount of animals we have. The other issue we run into is related to user error. The hassle of cleaning the door seal every is annoying and if it gets missed the unit leaks out of one of the corners near the drain. Minor annoyance but nothing terrible. All in all we love the machine and it's simple to use features. The lack of dryer vent and power consumption is great!

Amazing, this is a game changer. Super Slick.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's start with I installed it myself, so I can't blame anyone if anything goes wrong. It was leveled perfectly and installed correctly. This thing is amazing, love the looks, it feels great too. Nice LCD display. This thing is quiet, like super quiet. It is also extremely energy efficient and the app tracks energy use and cycles, it is so sweet, it also has over-the-air updates, and adding to the app was very simple. Pretty much all the features including remote start are on the app and it gives you real-time info during cycles, it can't get better than that. While not perfect, this is just so good. So an entire cycle (wash/dry) of a basket of mixed clothing took about two hours, that's about the same as my washer and gas dryer if I move the clothes from one to the other right away which never happens. I'm telling you, this is so good. It is so good, I would just sit in front of it and watch it do its thing. So I did the AI wash and does do a few cycles to determine the best wash, and how accurate and real it is, only time will tell but it does act like it knows what is doing, it said things like sensing load, sensing load/cloth type, and detecting soil level as well as optimizing AI wash, so then all I can say it is doing something. The mixed-clothed basket came out great, fresh, clean, dry, and unwrinkled, and I have to say better than my premium W/D machines. During the wash cycle, it doesn't keep a lot of water on the drum, it simply seems to often spray onto the clothes while washing which I think is more efficient and gives better results. I'm impressed. If I had the money, I would buy another and get rid of my other two machines, imagine, essentially having 2 washers and 2 dryers taking up the same area as your standard W/D, crazy and so energy efficient, truly a game changer, now I know this not new technology, they are very common in Europe (they don't dry well in Europe), but of this size, basically as big as my other two W/D, that is super nice and to be so energy efficient, yeah it is awesome. I highly recommend it, I haven't done bulky loads yet so we will see how that goes, I can only expect to exceed my expectations. An absolute must-buy and a great value. I do have two cons, one is that the lint will stick the rubberized area around the door on the inside, I get it, it is a washer and a dryer, so maybe the need to look for a new material, my guess is they have to use that because you can technically just wash and not dry, so that might be required, it is not bad but could be annoying. By the way, cleaning the top lint storage is so simple and so good, never have to touch the lint, so that is also a winner, it is just a slider that dumps it in the trash, as easy as 1,2,3. The other con is the light, great light by the way, but you have to take too many steps in options to turn it on and it does turn off by itself after like 10 min, I would love it if I could leave it on at all times or have an easy way to access without using the menu, this could accomplish on the app if it had it and when I said almost all the features are on the app, this one is missing so LG if you are listing, this would nice to have. 5 out of 5 for sure and I rarely do reviews so I'm doing this because I want to share how amazing this Combo washer is.

Be patient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Put it anywhere!!! The idea and the concept are great. The size is also very nice. The automatic detergent and fabric softener are also a key feature. We are still learning what setting to use for the optimal load. The only negative thing I have to say is the drying cycle sometimes the clothes dry fine sometimes the clothes don’t seem like they dry at all when running on wash and dry, or AI and dry, it seems to not always matter the size of load either so we are still figuring the settings out but overall the machine seems to be performing pretty well the fact that it does not have an exhaust and it’s 110. It is also a key feature if the drying cycle continues not to dry, I will have to Figure out another solution for drying the clothes

Amazing machine!

I purchased this machine over a month ago, and it is a game changer. I almost went with a different brand, and I couldn't be happier I went with the LG washer dryer combo. If you follow the manufacturers recommendations it works like charm, it has even washed and dried our comforter with out a problem. The washer is great and I have never had a machine that actually gets my whites white. The dry times are a bit longer than a normal dryer, but that is the trade off for energy savings. I typically dry my cloths and take them out slightly damp and hang them up. I would reccomed this machine to anyone who is looking to save space. My only caution to a potential buyer, would be to keep up on the maintenance and your machine will perform at its best. You need to wipe the lint after each dry cycle off of the door seal, and clean the lint filter after every use. I also need to periodically clean the drain filter and very gently clean the heat exchanger every 30 or so cycles depending on how much I use the dryer . We are a family of 4, so the machine runs a lot, and it also has to deal with dog hair. Thank LG for a great machine.
