❤️Love theses buy bulks. Of them every Fall - several bags . I freeze thy keep excellent in Freezer then to the fridge - taste not. Compromised I eat handful everyday , in yogurt, sweet potatoes, trail mix, desserts This is so much beater than cracking the hulls only to get a small goody- which I had to do when little in my basement. They are very hard to find in retail grocery and definitely not at this size or price.

These are by far great walnuts and a good buy I think. They smell and taste fresh, very stale or old. I only use black walnuts in my Banana Bread, in in my fudge, and in my cranberry salad. They really bring out the taste in whatever their in. I bought 4 bags so far.

The first time I ate these I thought something was wrong. They taste a little fruity and slightly fermented. I looked it up online and discovered the flavor IS different than normal farmed store bought English walnuts. I like them in small batches and plan to use some in baking. Higher protein content is a plus too.

These black walnuts are like the ones I used to eat as a child years ago.

First, if you don't like bold, earthy flavors then these may not be for you. Second, if you've never tasted black walnuts, now is not the time to experiment. However, these are fantastic when paired with chocolate anything (cookies/brownies), salads, and even in cottage cheese. The best part is how healthy they are. I was totally shocked to see black walnuts for sale anywhere, but at Sam's Club it's a big bonus.

I bought these walnuts in place of my usual Diamond brand. The store was all out of them. I didn't look close enough to see that they were black walnuts with a "bold flavor." If you research black walnuts, they're described as "strong, earthy, bitter, woody, and musty." That's exactly how I found them, and not in a good way. They are also described as "unique and not for everyone." I'm a bleu cheese lover, so I understand that you either like it or you don't. There's no in-between. I think it's the same for these walnuts. Personally, I feel like I'd get sick if I ate a lot of them, because I agree with the other reviewers...they taste kind of rancid and bitter. Sorry; in my opinion, "definitely not good."

These black walnuts are very bitter. Yes, I know the difference between black walnuts and English walnuts. I thought I had found a deal, which they would be, especially for the price. But they are not the best black walnuts, you can buy by far. I'm back to ordering from Nuts. com, sadly.
