Great Chicken. Great Price.

The chicken was delicious. It did have a bit of fat on it, but I just trimmed it off. The price is incredible for the amount you get. I was not happy with the fact that the glue that held the package together, ripped the package open, so I was forced to cook it all at once. That was not my intention. I do like that the packaging is perforated so you can cook a small amount at a time. All in all, I would buy this again.

Terrible product. “Thighs” weren’t even thighs they were just back pieces with the backbone still in. Hiding the random sizing in bags instead of in the tray where you can see what you’re buying. Buyer beware of this awful product.

Please bring back the original cuts and packaging.

There's no telling whether you will get 3 or 4 in each pack, and the cuts are entirely different so the sizes are very uneven (by a large margin). Some have skin, some are missing skin. Some have bones sticking out where meat should be, like they were chewed off of the animal rather than skillfully cut. Previously purchased Sam's chicken thighs and wings on the foam trays and was always very happy with the quality of the product received, but as of about a month ago it seems these are the replacement as the original packaging is no longer available. I will not be buying these chicken options from Sam's any longer.

Bad Packaging

Not impressed with the new packaging of Sam's breasts and thighs. It is 4 single packages in one big vacuum sealed package. The breasts and thighs are haphazardly divided into 4 seemingly equal packages. They don't always end up that way. My latest purchase of thighs had one package with only 3 thighs in it and another with 5 thighs in it. Makes it hard to plan how many packages will be needed for a meal with a set amount of people. Also, the plastic has so much printing and color on the outside of the package making it hard to visually see inside. I will not be purchasing my chicken breasts and thighs from Sam's in the future. My local Winco has better packaging and just as good of quality and about the same price as Sam's, sometimes even lower.

Very Conveniently Packaged

Each "subpackage" is about two pounds. Works out as just the right amount for our family of four. With traditional packaging, we would repackage in single meal portions and vacuum seal. This packaging saves us the time. Plus, the price per pound is competitive to other sellers - without be proportioned. We didn't notice any significant variance in taste or quality to other vendors or brands. I also appreciate the lack of "up to 20% solution of water, salt, and spices". I don't need my chicken pre-brined, and I don't like paying for added water.

Go back to the thighs in the trays

Please, please return back to the trays that you used to have. The quality of the thighs is not the same as it used to be before this change in packaging. It’s not the packaging itself that I object to, I kind of actually like the different compartments, but the thighs overall are smaller and generally mangled.

Don't Like the New Chicken Packaging

Sam's switch to this product a few months ago. Is not an improvement. The contents are variable in size, larger and smaller thighs, and often include small pieces I assume to make stated weight. Although repackaging is not necessary for storage to freezer, there are some negative issues. There are perforations between the sections, but if you try to tear them the tear does not follow the perforations ripping into the package, which then requires immediate use, or repackaging. Nothing wrong, however, with the taste or actual quality of the chicken.
