[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is the best of its kind, when you consider size, versatility, power suction and price. It does, for the most part, spare you the hassle of vacuuming before moping, even when you have pets (we have 2 dogs, and one is a HEAVY shedder). It does remove 98% of small debris and hair (avoid large debris) and mops hard floors very well except for caked-in blotches. In fairness, that can be expected from ANY mop. I work around that by wearing chenille "cleaning shoes" when mopping so I can scrub botches with my feet. It works wonderfully and you can get them on TEMU for less than $2 a pair. The auto-clean function is a Godsend (thank you Bissell!) and makes it VERY easy to clean compared to my older Crosswave. There are, however a couple of annoying design flaws: 1) Steaming function is inconsistent. It takes a while for it to really kick in, and there is no way to tell when it will. It just eventually does. Who has the time to just wait around? If this is really important for you, don't buy this machine 2) This is the most annoying flaw: It doesn't REALLY work for carpets or even area rugs as advertised. When you first turn it on on a carpet, especially a dense one, it is EXTREMELY hard to move it back and forth, because the suction is TOO strong. That may seem like a good thing at first, but eventually your back will disagree with that. After a few minutes (again, IMPOSSIBLE to predict, could be 10, could be 30m), the noise pitch changes and that's when the steam kicks in and you can push it back and forth. When it DOES work, you get wonderful results. But you may have to wait around a LONG time though. For that reason I feel that calling it "multi-surface" slightly misleading. Overall, still a wonderful appliance to have in any home and well worth the price.

I've been on a search for a product that cleans well and is quick enough for daily use, and this is it! We've tried robot vacuums, broom and mop, vacuum and mop, but still the bottoms of our socks were dirty afterwards. This thing is AMAZING. We have to fill and empty it twice to do our upstairs (living room, dining room, foyer, kitchen, and bathroom) but it breezes through even spilled and dried milk under the table like it's nothing. I drove and hour awat and bought it in frustration after mopping 3 times and still not being able to get the floor clean. One time with the crosswave steam and it was spotless. Highly recommend. Also, the EPA safer choice solution is a huge bonus!

My first time using it, I vacuumed an area rug in my living room. It completely filled up the dirty chamber (we have a major shedding dog in our home). I planned to use the wet option when my kids would be at preschool so I could have plenty of uninterrupted time to learn the vacuum. My boys have a tile bathroom that I thought this would be perfect for. I normally mop with water and vinegar in our home, but the boys' bathroom grout is visibly dirty. I used the steam option in there, thinking that would help. I then went back over it with the multisurface option. It did not improve the discolored grout at all, but did a light clean of the tiled floor. I used the multisurface cleaning option for the rest of my home (mix of laminate and hardwood). There were spots in my kitchen that I had to go over numerous times and it still doesn't look clean. It seems like it does a light wipe over the area. My handheld mop is much better and easier because I don't have to scrub certain areas as many times as this vacuum requires. I was a bit confused with the self-clean instructions. The bottle says to pour it in the tray, but doesn't mention the filling the tank with water. The tray tells you to fill the tank with water, but doesn't mention pouring the solution in the cleaning tray. I did both and it seemed to do a better job at cleaning the brush than it did my floors. I have an older Bissell pet vacuum that I prefer to use over this one for vacuuming due to the size of the chamber. Thank you for the opportunity to try this out. I would not recommend for homes that get dirtier due to messy kids or pets, but for an older family it could be great.

Every time I vacuum or mop, no matter the setting, my floors come out amazing. I have multiple dogs in my house as well as a preschooler, so you can imagine the messes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this innovative wet/dry vac. We recently pulled up most of our carpet, and are left with lots of flooring and area rugs. Doing the floors seems like they take forever, by the time I sweep, them vacuum and then mop, I've spent hours! This vacuum is amazing because I do the sweeping and the mopping at the same time. Not only that, I can vacuum my area rug, or steam it, which is what I choose to do. Getting the vacuum put together didn't take long at all, and learning the different settings just took looking at the pictures. Then it was to work, and man it took a lot less time than it ever has because it took one tool, one time through the floor!

I love that I can use this on different floors in the house, rugs, laminate, hard wood, etc. It is so light weight, which is awesome! The vacuum alone works amazing. But the steamer on my hardwood is AMAZING! It makes the floor look so pretty and shiny! I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 crazy children... it seems so hard to ever make the floors look decent. All while shining my hardwood floors at the same time! Also, the crosswave is easy and fun to use! The one and only con that I have come across is, it doesn't get all of the way to the edge of the floor.

Whether I need to clean up spills, spot clean up after my pet, or even do a full-blown steam sanitation, the Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam is the perfect cleaner for the job. This all-in-one multi-surface cleaner is the perfect addition to any household. It's simple to put together out of the box. The directions are easy to read. There are even pictures to follow along with. Once it was put together, I just needed to add water and solution to the removable water tank. The water tank is even marked with lines showing me how much of each to put in. This cleaner has three modes. It has a vacuum, wash, and steam mode. I like that it's a multi-surface cleaner as well. It can be used to clean sealed wood floors, laminate, tile, and even area rugs. Once I press the power button, I can choose one of the three illuminated choices; steam wash, hard floor, or area rug. There is even a When I recline the machine, the roller begins to spin. Then, I decide if I want to use the solution and water by holding the button, or releasing it to vacuum up debris and water. This machine works really well. It vacuumed up debris like pet hair, grass, and crumbs, while washing my floor. It's easy to push back and forth and the head swivels. Cleaning out this machine was simple. I like that the dirty water tank contains a strainer stem that keeps debris away from the water, and makes cleaning it out effortless. When I am finished cleaning, there is even a clean out cycle that will help clean all of the components. The dirty water tank comes apart in pieces and makes it easy for me to reach into and clean it thoroughly. My floors look and feel cleaner. Overall, I really enjoyed using the Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam and highly recommend it for your cleaning needs.

It has been a life saver when it comes to cleaning my tile bathroom floors! The steam cleaning function gets my grout much cleaner than the traditional spray mop I was previously using and the sanitizing solution is just a bonus to help my floors look sparkling new. It also works great to clean my laminate floors. It glides easily across the floor and is much less work than mopping with a traditional mop.
