I love my Bissel vac and looked into this as my best option for the buck. Not disappointed at all! Super easy to assemble and use. The water was black and icky My husband was very impressed as well! He took off his work boots b4 stepping inside for the first time. After this, NO MORE SHOES!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying I been eyeing the Bissell Crosswaves for years (it was on my wish list). With it being out a little out of my price range and scouring the mixed reviews I could never commit to purchasing it. So when I was given the opportunity to review it for free in exchange for my honest review I was beyond excited. After using it for a few weeks I must say not only is it a game changer for keeping my home clean but it's worth every penny! If I would've know how amazing this wet dry vac was I would've purchased it much sooner. Don't let negative reviews dissuade you, it's amazing! With 4 kids, 3 cats, and 3000 sq ft of mixed flooring (wood, vinyl, and area rugs) this thing is a life and time saver. It literally saves me hours of cleaning, but the best part is it's ability to clean up after my pets. Cat fur and odor was always my biggest issue in keeping a tidy home. Not only does it clean up and cut down on cat fur so much but it does so without it clogging or damaging the machine. It also has solved my ongoing fight with cat odors. If you have pets this is the machine for you!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved using this wet and dry vacuum that I was given to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The three modes conquered crayon on tile, orange juice on hardwood, and the usual sticky messes under our highchairs. I loved the steam mode and how little effort it took to clean up sticky and dried on messes, as well as play dough that had gotten ground into our grout. It was nice to know that not only were the messes gone, but the steam and solution cleaned the floors as well. The machine was easy to use and easy to clean up afterwards I love that it has places on the storage tray to dry its parts after use. Remembering which mode to use for which messes and having to consult the tag attached for instructions and specifications was the only downside, and I think after some time, I will come to rely on it less and less as the vacuum becomes a part of our everyday life. It is a dream and takes the place of several other devices we use to clean. I love that! It's been a dream for this family and all of our spills and messes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With a one year old learning how to feed herself, I didn't want to have to get down and scrub the floors everyday. And a simple sweep was just not cutting it. I was at a loss, that is until I had the opportunity to test out the CrossWave HydroStream from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This vacuum was exactly what I was looking for. First, I appreciated its versatility. I don't want to have to store three products when one will do. And this machine does just that. Its various settings allow me to go from the hardwood floor, to the tile, to the area rugs all in one shot. Now, for the set up. Because of the type of machine this is and the added features from a traditional vacuum, it did take more set up then simply taking it out of the box and plugging it in. But not much more. The instructions were thorough and clear. I was able to follow along and start steaming in about 20 minutes. The self cleaning cycle was equally simple to navigate and execute. Which for a busy mom, is a must. I don't have time to sit down and take everything apart, clean the parts, and the assemble it again. Now for the results, I was pleasantly surprised and the level of clean this machine was able to achieve even with the first pass over the surfaces. My floors have never been so clean! Now, to be sure, if there is a bit of truly stuck on food, you will still probably have to get on your hands and knees to clean, but this machine takes care of the vast majority of your everyday messes. And I will always chose to spot clean one or two spots rather than the whole floor, so this wasn't a deal breaker for me. The only slight downside to this machine is the noise when it was running. It was just a little too loud to run during nap time. Overall, I appreciate the ease and multi-functionality of this machine and will continue to use it to keep my floors as clean as they can be with a one year old learning to feed herself!

I was so excited to switch from using both a floor vacuum and shark steam mop for my floors. I have given this 5 months of trial and error, assuming it was "operator error". Nope. Purchased directly from Bissell. First and foremost, I have spent hours and hours watching tutorials because no matter what I do, the floors are streaky. I even use a NEW brush each time I am on brush 20. I am not using too much water, I am not using too much solution, yada yada yada. Literally, hours of videos watched, trying different things. I clean this thing thoroughly between uses, there is no residue causing this issue. Secondly, this machine stinks. Absolutely smells mildewy and gross all the time. I follow every step to clean this thing after use and it still smells. I use the designated cleaning solution. Literally have to replace the brushes and filters each time, because they smell horrible. Overall, there are many similar reviews like this that get buried. Maybe I have a crappy machine. Maybe this was a return they sent to me directly from Bissell. Who knows. Don't waste your money.

The dogs and kids track so much in and this machine scrubbed and sanitized so well. My floors look new again. The Bissell was simple to get ready and to use. I will never use a dirty old mop again.

My first time using it, I vacuumed an area rug in my living room. It completely filled up the dirty chamber (we have a major shedding dog in our home). I planned to use the wet option when my kids would be at preschool so I could have plenty of uninterrupted time to learn the vacuum. My boys have a tile bathroom that I thought this would be perfect for. I normally mop with water and vinegar in our home, but the boys' bathroom grout is visibly dirty. I used the steam option in there, thinking that would help. I then went back over it with the multisurface option. It did not improve the discolored grout at all, but did a light clean of the tiled floor. I used the multisurface cleaning option for the rest of my home (mix of laminate and hardwood). There were spots in my kitchen that I had to go over numerous times and it still doesn't look clean. It seems like it does a light wipe over the area. My handheld mop is much better and easier because I don't have to scrub certain areas as many times as this vacuum requires. I was a bit confused with the self-clean instructions. The bottle says to pour it in the tray, but doesn't mention the filling the tank with water. The tray tells you to fill the tank with water, but doesn't mention pouring the solution in the cleaning tray. I did both and it seemed to do a better job at cleaning the brush than it did my floors. I have an older Bissell pet vacuum that I prefer to use over this one for vacuuming due to the size of the chamber. Thank you for the opportunity to try this out. I would not recommend for homes that get dirtier due to messy kids or pets, but for an older family it could be great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell CrossWave HydroSteam is great at everyday cleaning and tough kid & pet messes on a variety of floor types and area rugs. The proof can easily be seen in the dirt cup! With kids and a dog, we regularly have gunk stuck onto our floors. This machine does a good job of removing stuck on grime without going over an area repeatedly or by hand like we used to. We also love that this machine vacuums as it cleans, so it saves us time! Overall, this is the best all-in-one wet/dry we've ever used! It's super easy to set up and use, and swivels in all kinds of directions so you can easily get around obstacles. There are multiple modes (SteamWash, hard floor, and area rug). I prefer SteamWash because it adds heat to the water (without bursting out steam, so it's safe on my floors). I feel like it sanitizes better than other wet/drys and the floors dry much quicker: 3-4 mins. instead of 10-15. This is a win-win for me: I feel like my floors are cleaner and I don't have to keep my family off of them for so long! Also, this model has large leak-proof clean and dirty tanks so you can clean for a long time without stopping. The LED lights make it easier to see what you're cleaning. Even though this CrossWave HydroSteam unit is almost 2 lbs. heavier than the X7 CrossWave Pet Pro model I've used, I'd recommend this over the cordless. I don't have to worry about the battery dying, the cord is a generous 25 ft. long, and HydroSteam is amazing (that's my favorite feature!) Another plus is how easy it is to clean up after using it. My only beef is that although this has a generous 9.5" cleaning path, it doesn't clean right up to the wall well, so I have a small bit of extra care to do at the edges. I don't feel it's a deterrent from purchasing this vac.This machine is a great value. If you're skeptical, the color of the tank after one pass will convince you that you need this product!
