I was thrilled with the 3518 when I first bought it but now that I've used it a dozen times, I am decidedly much less enamored with it. I live in a small (1000 sq ft house) and the flooring is light grey wood look plank style porcelain tile. The tile isn't shiny smooth, it has some texture to it, and the crosswave simply doesn't get it clean. Dirt settles into the small grooves in the floor and the crosswave just hums along on top of it I tried it on my daughters kitchen floor - also porcelain tile but in a natural stone pattern and the same issue with it just not getting the dirt out of the grooves. It also tends to leave streaks and drops puddles sort of at random. It might help if Bissell actually made a better brush roller with bristles like you get on a plain old scrub brush, but at least right now they don't. I think it's a great idea but needs a bit of engineering refinement.

I am a mom of a very busy household. Between the kids and dogs, my life is constantly on-the-go, therefore I always welcome different ways to make cleaning my house easier. In my opinion, the Bissell CrossWave HydroSteam Plus Muti-Surface Wet/Dry Vacuum is an absolute must have!! I instantly fell in love with the fact that this vacuum eliminates sweeping and mopping, not to mention the fact that it can also steam clean your floors for those "deep cleaning" days. It's lightweight, easy to use and im able to take this vacuum and clean my floors in half the time now! With the vacuum having multi-surface capabilities im able to go from hardwood floors to tile, laminate and even area rugs. The process is pretty straightforward, just fill the reservoir with water and the included floor cleaner, turn the vacuum on and choose the appropriate cleaning mode, there is hard floor mode, steamwash mode, and area rug mode. Each cleaning mode is designed for specific tasks, for example, hard floor mode is for the up-keep in between your deep cleaning days. Another amazing feature is that this vacuum also dries your floors! Everything about the Bissell CrossWave HydroSteam Vacuum makes cleaning your floors easier, therefore freeing up much needed time. I love its simplicity and versatility. I love that it gets the job done quickly. I love that it can be used for deep-cleaning my floors or just to clean up a spill. The effectiveness of this vacuum let's me rest assured that my floors are clean and it will now be a constant in my cleaning routine.

This is awesome!!!! Had an older cross-wave, and you can't even compare them. The first thing I noticed is, I could tell that it gripped the floor and was actually cleaning it and the roller just wasn't going over the top of it. They Changed the plastic part that you open up to get to the brush!!! Major upgrade on this Model. love it!!! would Definitely recommend!!!!

A couple of passes with the CrossWave in steam mode is all it took to get the mess cleaned up quickly. I absolutely loved the self clean feature, I think it's my favorite part about the entire device. I wish it had a hand help nozzle attached as well, but it works really well as is for me too.

My house has multiple flooring styles, including hardwood, tile, laminate, and carpet/area rugs. I've tested it on all of the surfaces and had generally excellent results. For anyone who is familiar with the Rainbow vacuum, this product reminds me a lot of that. Let me start off by noting that the vacuum is really solid and pretty heavy. Super easy to put together and the usage directions are really clear and easy to understand. The surface where I noticed the best results was the hardwood floor. The tile was a close second, but the vacuum seems to lack the scrubbing power for the stubborn food gunk I seem to find daily in my kitchen (thanks kids...). A little elbow grease was required in a few spots, even after I left the steam function over top the area. I also noticed pretty good results on the area rug, but there was some leakage of dirty water when I went back and forth from the rug to the hardwood floor on accident. It is also not as effective as a regular carpet cleaner because the included scrub brush isn't as tough. One of my favorite features of the vacuum is the self-cleaning function for when you're finished. The tray keeps everything neat and the function does a fantastic job of thoroughly cleaning the inner workings of the machine to keep gunk from building up. The lighting on the front was a pleasant surprise and I love that the machine can get flat to the edge of the wall so it doesn't leave crumbs all around the edges of my house. Overall, I'm very happy with the product. I think that it may be best suited to a house with primarily hardwood, tile, or laminate flooring. Ours is 2/3 carpet, so we still need a regular vacuum and carpet cleaner for deeper carpet cleaning.

Every time I vacuum or mop, no matter the setting, my floors come out amazing. I have multiple dogs in my house as well as a preschooler, so you can imagine the messes. Plus, I'm a single parent - time is limited! I honestly won't ever purchase anything but Bissell in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my crosswave and gave it a go with the area rug and hardwood floors. I love what it did for the area rug. The rug looks almost new after going over it with the Crosswave. The hard floors however did not come as clean as the rug. I have birds and the crosswave struggled to mop up a few dry spots where the birds had messed. Food stains came up without much issue. Usually when I mop it's the opposite, the food stays and the bird poop comes up easily. The crosswave did get a lot of dog hair and dirt off both the area rug and hardwood floors. Had it gotten the bird poop spot up it would have gotten 5 stars. I had to go over the bird poop with my push mop after using the Bissell and the poop came up.

The first thing I noticed was that the handle moves in all directions. It is extremely lightweight and has a light on the front. It removed a stain that every other product couldn't. Our house is mostly tile with a few area rugs and being able to go from one to the other made It super easy to use and the clean up was a breeze. Even my teenagers were excited to use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this wet and dry vacuum from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I was so excited to try it because I normally do not like mopping my floors. Now I actually enjoy cleaning my hard surfaced floors! The Bissell CrossWave Hydrosteam was so easy to use and it saves time because you don't need to vacuum your floors before mopping. When I got to the sticky and stuck-on messes, I needed to go over them a few times, but every mess came up without me having to break a sweat. One of my favorite features was the SteamWash mode. I have two young boys and I used the SteamWash mode in their bathroom to make sure the floors around the toilet were sanitized. One unexpected use for the all-in-one vacuum came one day when it rained really hard and I had puddles on my screened porch. I used the vacuum to suck up the water when I would have had to use towels to soak it up in the past. One thing to mention is I noticed streaks on my floors after I've used the vacuum for several rooms. I'm sure it's because the brush is dirty and I think I could remedy it by buying another brush and replacing half-way through cleaning my house. Overall, I would definitely recommend the CrossWave Hydrosteam vacuum to everyone!
