Well thought out! Easy to install!

If you are familiar with the Electrical and Gas Codes you will find this very easy to install. This family of Generac Generators is very reliable and convenient. It offers a great deal of confidence that your home and family are protected during emergencies.

useless warranty

warenty useless

after my original warranty ran out I purchased the next warranty and I have spent about $6,000 on repairs because it seems nothing is covered. Had to replace my mother board twice within about 18 months and neither one was covered under warranty along with other problems. It is strange Generac sells a warranty and I have not found one item that is actually covered

New and improved version

Just installed and completed and we have no issues. Had to leave our first Generac at the old house and now have the new and improved version. The simplicity of managing is great, have recommended to our neighbors and they are being installed and ordered as I type.

It comes on when power goes out.

Had 15 different power outages in the last 12 months and some outages lasted days. We have had no power outages yet sense we bought and installed the Generac generator. Now when storms come I'm not worried about power loss but I am scared of tornadoes.

Generac's fine. Stay away from ACS Home Svcs Tampa

I am very satisfied with the unit itself, however I would never recommend the company used for the installation. They were the worst, most disreputable company ever (ACS Home Services of Tampa Florida) It took us 7 months to get it installed after signing the contract, and they demanded payment in full before they would even deliver the unit to our house after a $1,500.00 deposit at signing.

Fantastic insurance for inconvenience

At my age of 67, I am glad to finally get an install a Generac standby generator. Even if the power just goes out for a few hours, it will be much easier to put up with the inconvenience. Basically there won’t be an inconvenience. I believe standby generators are worth every penny.

Peace of Mind and Reliable

Having experienced "Snowmageddon" in North Dallas a few years ago and without power backup, this new Generac whole home generator brings incredible peace of mind. It's good to know it is always there ready to take over should the power grid go down. The only reason I gave it a 4-rating is because of the delay between power failure and the generator starting. I wanted Tesla's system mainly because of its ability to take over within milliseconds of losing power unlike Generac. If power is out for more than a second, then there are several clocks that have to be reset. I've had days when the power blinked multiple times thereby requiring clock resetting each time. Very annoying. If Generac would develop a battery unit to incorporate with the generator that would bridge the gap between the grid failing and the generator taking over, then I would definitely give it a 5-star rating. That's my only complaint, and it really isn't a Generac fault since it operates as designed. I just wish the design would change a tad to eliminate the time gap.

50/50 feelings

I wish I had better things to say but I feel the company that installed the unit did a poor job the unit leaks oil and when I told them about it on the 1st maintenance visit, they wanted charge me extra this was part of the installation and has been leaking ever since . Other folks may have a better experience with this brand I think it was just the company that has installed mine .

None nope never

The WiFi doesn’t work. It never did. I did everything I could on the home end of things but no dice. This also happened on the second unit as well (I purchased two). So I’m sure it’s a good unit but it does me little good if I can’t “see it” without actually going to where it’s located and popping the hood. Maine winters make that an issue.

May not work in snow and wind

We had one installed on Cape Cod in Dec 2021, and it failed during a nor'easter in Jan 2022. Snow blows into the vents, melts, then refreezes on the air filter. Removing the air filter (as suggested by Generac's emergency service) just pushes the ice further down the power chain. Seems like a design flaw, to have no way to divert snow blowing in. When I called Generac to ask for a fix, they only offered to sell me warmers (for another few hundred $$) which may not work. Their attitude was indifferent; they claimed I was the only customer who had ever had this problem. That's a lie - my local installer had reported to them a hundred customers on Cape Cod with the same catastrophic failure during that storm. So this may work well for you if your climate is mild, but don't count on it during a winter storm with wind.
