Been over a month and I have no resolution to an Engine Speed Alarm/Fault that renders the system to not initiate automatically as designed when my power goes out. Without this key feature operating correctly I feel dissatisfied. No eta has been provided for a fix which adds to my frustration.

I bought this unit for a rental tiny home on my property. I had already installed a 17kv Generac which services the main house. We have electrical outages several times per year in our rural location and our Generacs work flawlessly to seamlessly continue to provide power when this occurs.

Had several issues with the installation and operation of my 24Kw generac generator. Primary issue is that they say you get FREE mobile link connectivity...which is only true if you have slow, and outdated wireless connection, a 2.4 gigahertz source. If you have that you are in, if not, you pay hundreds of dollars for an upgrade, or they say to get a wifi extender that is at the slower hertz and puts a low security connection outside in your yard. Had to call Generac, which took days because "unusual phone call volume", and had to pull the information out of the help desk that the wifi must be specific to the 2.4 gigahertz. It could be another error by my installers, but research says check your wifi manual, and I never got one, and can't find it online. Other issues were time required to install, and if you going to a natural gas model, there could be a huge cost on upgrading your gas meter. The last issue is the problem with Generac's 24/7 customer support that puts you on hold. I always gave up after 20-25 minutes.

This has turned into a $6100+ yard ornament. We live out in the country and it has been impossible to get Generac to work on this generator. One Generac rep. told us to call Sams club instead of coming and looking at the generator as it is too far out of town.

Installation was very smooth as the electricians and plumber know this product inside and out. They were courteous and professional and answered any question I through at them. They went though how to manually start, transfer and test the unit as well as the app. The generator it self has a very clean look and is quieter than I imagined. K&B Energy out of Livonia Michigan. I highly Recommend this company. They were not the cheapest and it was scheduled about a month out, but let’s be honest… you want a busy contractor: they’re busy because they do good work. You don’t want the cheapest: why/how can a company be cheaper than others? Because they don’t do good enough work to get enough work. K&B was the smart choice for me.

Bought this over the winter and have already lost power for three days. Generac saved our food in freezers and fridges. Last year we lost everything. Like the AP so if you are away from home you can see it if it is running. Also since we are on a well, Generac kept the water running! Lights, water, kitchen, wifi all good.

Installed the 18000 a bit over a year ago. Perfect. Keep in mind that installation will run another couple grand at least and if your home does not already have LP, you will need to rent tanks and run a line which is another cost. Yearly maintenance is a smart move which is about $275. If you need sump pumps or have additional deep freezers or want to be sure your oil burner can fire and hate sitting in the silent dark, budget this smart purchase in. The peace of mind is nice.

Weekly test runs are going fine: starts on time and idles low after a short run at full speed (so it is much quieter). First power outage and the transfer switch, generator and power supply started, ran and shut off seamlessly. Impressive. The only improvement would be if it were not that loud: can be heard clearly in the house and even might affect level of speaking or certainly could affect getting to sleep.

This is my second 14K generator, first lasted 15 years. Replacement done less than 24 months ago. Little over 1 month ago, new unit’s engine died. It blew oil , smoke, and even the oil dip stick. Dealer replaced new Generac engine, after going through protocol with Generac. This was within 2 weeks of engine failure. New engine just ran for 61.5 hours during major blizzard!!

Our Generac was installed new, at the end of February and we are really excited to have it. Although the power has not failed as of yet we feel more secure having the backup/emergency power. I have been disabled for 10 years now and having to lug around a portable generator only to run a fridge and furnace fan was getting very hard to manage for me. Now I can sleep a lot better knowing all that and more will be working as it should when commercial power is not available.
