We had a 22kwh unit installed this fall (2016) and everything went smooth. The contractors were great and we were able to qualify for the extended warranty (10 years.) One evening recently our power went out. I counted to about 15 and then heard the generator start. In another few seconds, the generator panel switched over to light up our house again. Perfect! We will be having the factory authorized installer out every fall to service the unit. I could not be happier with our decision to purchase this Generac unit.

This was our first purchase with Generac and couldn't be any happier with the entire process. From answering questions about the products to receiving delivery, it couldn't have been any smoother. Great value for the price! Generac staff were very helpful and professional!

We live on acreage , obviously in a rural area , with a deep water well . The main reason for putting in a generator was to assure water to the house . Question : In the case of a serious earth quake which could knock out our gas line that feeds fuel to the generator , what back up system would you suggest ? Thanks , Ron Gill

I have wanted this for years. Recently moved to a wooded rural lake home and didn't want to risk losing power. Not there full time and didn't want to lose frozen food if the power should be interrupted. I have also been without power due to ice storms in the winter. No longer an issue. Peace of mind is worth the cost to me.

I had a 55KW diesel generator that was too much for our needs and not reliable for a non mechanical person. I have the 22KW Generac and it was all installed and working in half a day in a very professional manner. It does its five minute check every Sunday without fail. The other week high winds took out hydro and it the generator cut in seamlessly at -23c. Hydro said five hours but at three hours the generator turned off as the power was back on. Living in the woods this is just what I had hoped would happen, piece of mind power.

Great investment. Having heat and an elevated sense of security during inclimate weather has put us at ease. At first, the cost may be a little frightening, but you won't be disappointed in the purchase when you are warm and safe in your home, when others aren't so fortunate.

Mine is a whole house generator connected to the house electric system. It is scheduled to exercise once a week then send me a text and email. It does so without fail. I haven't had to actually use it in a power outage yet, but I am confident it will perform as it should. The recommended installer did a great job.

I have had my 22kw natural gas Generac for less than a year. It kept my house fully powered for approximately 12 straight hours during the recent Matthew hurricane. It has also lighted the way on two other recent power outages. And I can always depend on it doing it's weekly self test. Very pleased in Jacksonville, Fl.

The installation was a fire and mechanical hazard. 1. Putting the garage door down ripped the wires down causing the door to get stuck. 2. The garage door spring cables rubbed on the power lines - creating a fire hazard. The installation is being redone. I may change my review after the problems are corrected.

We have only had Generac backup generator a few months. During that time we have had some power outages. The power went out and within 5 seconds Generac back up generator started and ran just as promised until the power returned (close to an hour). We are reminded of the Generac's presence every 3 weeks when it tests itself by starting up and running for about 5 minutes. That is a reassuring sound!
