I bought this uint from Sam's club and had it installed by my electrician. I was not aware that the unit did not come with a battery. Overall, I would buy this unit again.

It's great to have a backup whole-house generator for emergency situations. The only negative is the battery only lasted one year. I have a five year warranty and the battery isn't covered.

Since the purchase of generator it has only run for about an hour when public service was working on their lines. So I don't have much of a reference.
