We just moved into a 15 year-old house with a sump pump and could not afford to have the electricity go out. I knew Generac's are excellent, in part because my 2 brothers and I have identical 5500 watt portable generators which have worked flawlessly for years, and in part because I have never seen a product with thousands of reviews be so uniformly recommended. In fact, the buyers actually requested I include the portable generator with the house as a condition of the sale. When we decided to protect the entire house because of the sump pump, we found a Generac preferred dealer nearby who gave us a fair price and exceptional service, and our extremely happy with our purchase. Installed 22kw Generac 4 years ago. 1st two years no power outages, generator only ran in exercise mode. 3rd year numerous power outages, generator worked without a flaw. Powered entire house, neighbors stopped and looked at generator and the power it was generating. Two neighbors have since bought the same unit. Generac makes a good product that lives up to it advertisement.

So we had 22kw installed for 3700 sq foot house a few years ago, mostly for zoned air conditioners I can't live without. However, we never really lost power for very long, once installed. I was thinking maybe shouldn't have purchased a generator, although the peace of mind was always nice. Then a few nights ago all these edgy news warnings of a nasty nor'easter on its way possibly taking out power in Philly area, and much of the east coast for that matter, from brutal high winds and wet snow. My wife and I were sitting in the comfort of our toasty home watching a movie Friday night and then boom! ...Total darkness from power outage. Could only hear high winds for about 10 seconds... and then... that transfer switch clicked and that wonderful, beautiful, fantastic, humming sound from the outside generator, and then a few seconds later on come the lights, the TV powers up, the furnace is working. The oven is on. Oh man I can't describe how great that feeling was. I looked outside to see our neighborhood development homes, but nothing but cold wind and total darkness. I almost felt guilty when I sat back down on the couch and asked my wife, " pass the popcorn please". My daughter even stopped by did laundry she needed for work with dryer. No problem for the generator. Power still out days later for many in area, but ours did transfer back to electric company. Everything did work perfectly. We decided to have the unit installed for the peace of mind that with the weather getting worse we will not be without power. Looked at many units and the Generac 22K was the best we found for all the quality to construction and the ability to have our whole house powered if we have a power outage in our area. With more and more hurricanes and winter weather more extreme it give us the power that will keep our home running. The install by Charleston Electric went great. They set up all the timing for the unit to be installed, the gas to be hooked up and then the next day came out to get the unit set up and running. Look forward to many years of service keeping our family safe.

From the estimate to the conclusion of installation, this project was excellent. Mr. Buchanan gave us a very reasonable estimate for the size and quality of the generator installed. The men who installed the generator, set-up and wi-fi connection did a terrific job, were very pleasant, cleaned up nicely, helped me connect my phone to the Mobil Link app. We couldn't have asked for a better team. I have not actually had to use my generator as of now. I just had it connected on 5-12-23 which was yesterday! so I am waiting to give an accurate review after a power outage during inclement weather when I will really need to have the generator work for me!!

As usual Generac has a very good if not great product. I installed and did the setup myself. Everything was straight forward except the activation of the unit via wifi and the web. A good option would be a way to input the code on the control panel. I am not inexperienced with computers, internet, or smart phones either.

The generator was a replacement . It was an easy install. The documents provided explained everything very well. The installation was very straightforward for anyone with electrical background. The product appears very well engineered. Very satisfied.

I had a whole house generator installed for 2 reasons, I have a health issue requiring electricity for my CPAP machine to work and with frequent power outages and I wanted the peace of mind that I would have during the night if my power went out. I had a a whole house generator at y previous residence and it was nice knowing I had power when there ere outages.

We have had 4 major power outages since the first of the year. We searched the internet for different manufactures of home standby generator systems and decided that Generac was the best value. Its appearance is good and we were pleased with the Generac certified technicians who did the installation.
