Generac only allows a 5 minute exercise run time which is to short

If the exercise time could be changed from 5 minutes to 12 minutes and the exercise speed be changed from the slow "Quiet Test" to full RPM I would give a rating to 5-stars. Other than these two significant issues, I find Generac to be a quality and reliable, made in the USA, product. It has NEVER failed me. However, because of the inadequate exercise time I feel I must manually run the generator periodically to "cook off" the condensation moisture from the oil. (NO internal combustion engine likes to sit.) The Wi-Fi reception is poor on the generator unit. My iPhone showed full strength Wi-Fi at the generator site. The generator reported zero Wi-Fi signal strength after accepting the Wi-Fi password. I ended up having the 4G LTE cellular option installed, this gave me the needed connectivity. I get an alert on my iPhone whenever the generator exercises, or is running due to a utility failure. All things considered, I would buy the generator again even with the faults mentioned above. It's hard to believe that the lack of flexibility regarding exercise time was truly an engineering decision, I fear it could be government influenced.

Had our Generac installed 4 years ago and still going strong.

As my wife and I age we have been doing what we can to make our home easier to live in as we get ready for retirement. Our county in Maine is experiencing some strong winds from an unusual direction for us and causing large area blackouts. We our one of a few with this type of generator on our and other than the internet being disrupted for a couple of we have no disruption in our daily routine. Years into this and still one of the best buys we ever made. Pam & Al

Not the bestime design

General Guardian are designed and build with only two pole generators. That means the unit has to turn 3600 RPM all the time even on idle or almost idle. If the generator is 4 or 6 pole then instead of 3600 RPM it will turn 1800 or 1200 rpm. This means better reliability, longer life, lower noise and less fuel especially on idle. It is time Generac manufacturer to start making more efficient product. And not why with inverter generators. Guys, you are still in 20th century.

Thomas Electric Installation Mansfield OH

A quick word about thomas electric. If you looking to have a whole house generator installed, these are the folks to do it. While they might be a little pricey, they are without doubt the very bet people to install these units. They arrived exactly on time with a 4-man crew with everything they needed for installation. They have instilled hundreds of these Generac units and know them well. However, what I noticed was their attention to detail. They measured everything carefully and used a level at every point to make sure things were absolutely straight. They even took pains to spray grey enamel on exposed pipes to make them match the grey of the cables. Where they had to did up plants, they make every effort to replant them once the cables were trenched and attached to the electric. They even made sure that the caulk they used to seal around the pipes and cables matched match the surface they were sealing. Afterwards they cleaned up everything and finished the job exactly on time. These installation details give you an idea how conscientious they were. Excellent installation service.

Installed!

We had it installed on Jan 20, 2021...and of course, we haven't had an outage yet. Every Monday at Noon, it exercise's itself and I noticed it didn't really start on the first try, it stumbled. On the second try it would start. I contacted my dealer and they checked it out to find that the fuel pin gasket was twisted and the fuel regulator/diaphragm unit needed to be replaced. They did it on the spot and its been working fine ever since. Must have been a factory issue. Was very happy with the dealers response.

The automatic transfer switch is great.

We live in a small town farming community. We have had high winds, fire and snow storms that have disrupted our power. The power company is usually pretty prompt getting service back on. The longest we have been without power in the last couple of years is about 9 hours. My husband is now on fully time oxygen and relies on power to run his concentrator. The generator is a safety net but most of all peace of mind for my husband.

Great Product and Excellent Contractor

I consulted with Adam's Power to install a Geneac house backup generator system recently and I'm sure glad I signed with them. I had three proposals and they were by far the most clear, comprehensive and competative. Dan Schopp was my tech sales representative and was very professional and knowledgeable. Upon signing they scheduled the work promptly and delivered and installed on time. Their office admin were very friendly and managed scheduled coordinated flawlessly with inspector and utility Co. And no worries....The installers, (Joe and JT ) performed and coordinated the work quickly and were done and cleaned up better than I hoped. The installation was done better than I expected no excuses or by the ways etc. they were very pleasant and professional and did an exceptional job. When complete they went over everything thoroughly, explained entire system, and I set up for a multi year optional maintenance schedule. ADAMS IS CLASS "A" Business and I am very happy I chose them....Peter L.......Thank You Adams!...:-)

Great Install and Product

Excellent experience with Specialized Power Service, Inc.. We shopped around for estimates for Generators. SPS provided a detailed estimate vs an invoice with one final estimate price with competitive pricing. It was nice to see how the entire cost of the estimate adds up. The communication was the best that I have had from any contractor. Nikki at the office will send out a detailed time line for install, including the pad or base for the generator, gas lines and then install of the generator itself. She also schedules the inspections and informs the home owner of the inspection schedule. I have never had anything run as smooth as this install. Scott the owner is very professional and informative and answered all our questions along the way. I wish all contractors were this easy to work with. We now have the peace of mind that in a power outage we have a full house generator. No more running around buying ice and putting everything in coolers or worse having to stay at a hotel during a several day outage. We took the leap and so happy we did.

If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t

Recently had 22k generator installed. Has yet to run like it is supposed to. Three repairs, one new circuit board and a replacement battery. Two visits to rewire. And, it took more than a year to get finished. Had to remind installer to request building permits approval twice. And, to top it off, Generac charges $50 a year for their app to monitor if it is working. Would not recommend this company! To say I’m disappointed is an understatement!
