We were having numerous power outages and with my wife using medical equipment through the night. I would have to get up and start up my portable generator. The installation went rather smoothly with the contractor we had install it. We have during twice during outages. We couldn't even feel the transition of power. It is a great comfort just to know that it is there and ready for any catastrophe. We choose to go with the new 22's unit.

My 22kW Generac generator was installed by the Generac Authorized Dealer that I found on this website in September 2021. On May 5, 2022 the power went out for the first time. In about a minute my generator kicked on and I was reassured about my $18,000 investment for my family's piece of mind. That piece of mind lasted about 2 minutes until the generator suddenly shut down and I got a "E2098 Stopped Alarm wiring Error" and generator required service to correct. Until July 9, 2022, I assumed correcting this error was covered under the touted limited warranty since the unit was only 8 months old at the time...but I just got a bill, from the same Generac Authorized Dealer who installed this, to fix an error after TWO minutes of providing promised protection (thats what prompted me to write this review) Now, after ~10 months in use, and this product failing the only time I depended on it...I question it's ability to provide reliable back up power for any portion of my home. Finally, my generator arrived without the Wi-Fi, thus I can't use the phone app that looked so cool in the commercials. My dealer assured me that once my generator was fully installed and registered, Generac would ship the Wi-Fi to the installation address...10 months later no Wi-Fi, just another broken promise. P.S. I just read the T&C and they can refuse to post any review they want, so really curious if my honest review makes it here.

Surprise storm popped up and power went out. Within about thirty seconds the Generac had fired up and everything was back to normal. Daughter and family camped out with us overnight. I was probably informed; but forgot that only one a/c would operate at a time. Ran upstairs a/c and cool air trickled down. Generac was a bit loud; but loud and cool beats quiet and hot every time.

Southern-Air Residential Services installed our 22KW Back-Up Generator this past summer. They did an outstanding job at a fair price, and in a friendly... professional manner. The product and the installation looks and operates great! We are able to rest easy knowing that we do not have to worry about future power outages or the trouble and inconveniences that accompany them...no matter how long they last.

From the time I first contacted the Generator SuperCenter about the Generac standby home generator system everyone super friendly extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. When it came to the installation and setup did a great job and cleaned up and the setup went really great. Frank the technician checked out everything got everything running tested it severally times to make sure everything was working correctly then he went over and explained every part of the system and answered any questions that I may have. Very clean design. Powerful. Somewhat easy install due to great instructions. Runs quieter than my 8k portable. Smart switch simplified the install. Wifi was easy to set up following the instructions. Powerful twin cylinder engine looks easy to maintain. Looking forward to acomfortable life nest storm outage.

GenTec located in Crete, IL did a thorough, clean and professional install. Starting with Tina in the office and Steve getting a timely quote to Steve Jr. and his partner on the install. Transfer switch mounted in basement , not on outside like other companies suggested and gas line was tapped in the basement as well. No unsightly lines running on the outside. If my 18 kw Generac is as good as GenTec install, I will be an extremely satisfied customer. Thanks to Steve and all his crew.

My Guardian 22 KW Standby Generator is deficient in the manufacturing process and Quality Control Inspection and acceptance testing. After installation by a Licensed Electrical and Generac approved installer upon initial startup and testing process the electrical Contractor was unable to get the unit to operate properly. Engine started within seconds of turning on however during the testing process numerous issues occurred resulting in a lengthy run times consuming LP fuel due to numerous electrical connections not being able to remain in place (spade type fitting being the biggest issue resulting in repeated protective covering having to be removed and again excessive time spent as well as excessive fuel burn to identify the issue and multiple locations. Recommend that these spade connections be crimped a bit more to preclude the inadvertent disconnection during shipping and or startup and test in place situations. Other than this inconvenience all went well after corrective action taken and the unit work very well. Just hoping that we will never have to use it...But it is there in case.

Living in the Texas Gulf Coast hurricanes are a natural occurrence. I am a Sr. Regional Product Support Manager for a heavy duty diesel engine manufacture with 45 years experience servicing diesel engines in Oil & Gas, Construction & Industrial, Marine, and Power Generation applications. In Sept. 2008 we went through hurricane Ike and endured six days without power afterwards. After Ike, we installed a 20kW Guardian unit and had wonderful success and a great piece of mind with the unit at our former home. Our first unit was great but this new unit is AWESOME! The controller has been improved, the unit can now be monitored wireless from anywhere using a cell phone, tablet, or laptop. It is also monitored 24/7/365 by our authorized Generac dealer. The noise level of the unit when running has been reduced substantially. Maintenance items, oil drain, oil filter, air filter, oil fill, dipstick, and battery are all easily accessible. The controller is improved, simple to operate, understand, and is accessible with ease as well. This is a well designed, well built, serviceable unit that is supported by an outstanding dealer with factory trained and certified parts and service personnel offering 24/7/365 service to their customers. And, our Generac is backed by one of the best warranties in the business. It doesn't get any better than this folks.

Just had this generator installed about three weeks ago, after a four month wait from Generac. We lost power just last night due to heavy winds and downed power lines. As expected, this generator kicked right on and we never missed a beat. I can't say enough good about our installation company, "All Install" . They kept me informed throughout the entire wait time and as soon as the generator came in from Generac they put me on the schedule for install. The install team was very thorough and accommodating in helping choose the circuits that would run on this generator. A+++ for All Install
