Shumake Electric did a great job installing the Generac Generator. They made owning a whole home generator affordable. I now have peace of mind when storms come and knock out the electricity. I know with the generator I won't lose everything in my refrigerator if I have to go a few days without the city's electricity.

Bought this unit about a couple of months ago and had a friend and his buddy that are union electricians and I did the gas plumbing. It went well pretty much a one day install except for me pouring my own concrete pad. Its already taken care of a couple short powet outages only a couple of hours but I am ready for the next longer one.

We experience harsh winters in Alaska with occasional power outages. As we age it became harder to pull out the generator when an outage occurred. Traveling was difficult because we were concerned if an outage occurred while we were gone, pipes would freeze and cause expensive repairs. We now have peace of mind.

Purchashed in 2024, had a few outages through out the first year. At almost a year and 25 hours of run time, the engine begin to leak oil pretty good. Further inspection had 2 inches of oil in the air filter housings. Used the app to reach out for dealer, heard nothing back. Called dealer, they came out and did some testing, determined that engine was bad and needed replaced. Brand new, 25 hours and engine went bad. Dealer ordered new engine, took 2 weeks to arrive, and another week to install. During the testing the tech called Generac and they ask for pictures of install all the way around. Mine was text book install, but I had my trash can ready to go out and it was sitting 4 to 5 feet next to the generator that they questioned. Dealer said if not installed according to code they can deny the warranty claim. Unbelieveable the legnth they will go to deny a warranty for a failed product they made. Confidence is as low as it can get. This is my 3rd unit and only unit i've had major failure on. Seems their quality comes 2nd to everything else. These units are way to exepnsive and quality control needs to be the higest. In most cases these units support life and product failure is far too common.

Coming up on 1 year of ownership and disappointed with the performance of the unit. There has been an ongoing and consistent problem that keeps the unit out of service, which has not been fixed so far. This unit was purchased for my Mom, who lives by herself, and the family wanted the peace of mind that she will never be without power if the utility fails. However, that has not been the case up to this point. Over the past 88 days, it has only been working for 34 days, so incredibly disappointed in the system. However, it seems there is a fix on the way that will take care of the problem, so I am hoping that is the case!

My 24 KW unit was installed on September 21, 2024 and it has 115 total engine run hours on the meter as of 10-21-26. It performed flawlessly during two major outages (lasting 44 & 50 hours, respectively - both in early 2025), plus during 3 shorter outages since then. I have only experienced one problem so far, which arose after the first extended use. The problem was a damaged seal on the crankshaft (done at the factory when my unit was built) - which resulted in a significant oil leak after the first use. My Generac-authorized dealer repaired this problem promptly and at no charge whatsoever as soon as the problem was discovered. They cleaned up the oil mess thoroughly as well. That is the only problem I have experienced with my unit to date.

I have had my standby generator for a little over one year. This past year has seen some very bad weather so the generator came in handy when I lost power 3 times. The unit started up quickly with no inconvenience. I would recommend a Generac generator to everyone.

After a year of ownership, we finally had an extended outage that caused the generator to come on. (Thank you Hurricane Isaias.) Here is the good, The generator kicked on, and the house had power. Here is the bad. None of the Load Sheds functioned properly. Lights on the load sheds blinked the entire outage and never allowed any of the connected devices to work. Even after turning on the main AC at the breaker. The App functionality requires a paid subscription, and it is only fractionally useful and warnings can't be cleared by the homeowner, they have to be handled by the dealer. Read plan on having a long term relationship with the dealer.

I bought this 2 years ago and I haven't needed it very often but it has run flawlessly when it was needed. It is enough power to run my whole house and not just certain areas. Generator comes on within seconds of power going out and turns off after power comes back on. Highly recommend getting this.

I bought the unit with the cold pack, & surge protector. I am very happy to feel safe & secure knowing that my Generac will keep us from loosing food in our freezer during a possible long term outage. When the power does go out you can hear Generacs on all the the neighborhood. :)
